the problem with hiring is being able to make a test cake to make sure it works the way we want it to work kwim? we'd have to hire it twice (at least) so that we could trial once and then make her actual cake - and when i factor in hire costs and potential postage both ways twice, i'm better off buying
just mentioned to a local friend who said she is pretty sure she inherited a heart shaped pan from her nan - she's going to look tonight and if she has it, we can use that one. she knows of my love of baking spesh cakes seeing i made her son's birthday cake last year!
now to work out how to get it to side on just enough of an angle that it's obvious what the shape is, but not so steep that Tinks won't be able to sit on it properly!
ETA - i've scoped out all these sites and bookmarked them - i may not need a cake tin now, but i want to expand what we do ourselves with the decorating side of things, so i'll keep them in mind when i have an "i NEEEEEEEEEEEEEEED this particular item" moment!
