Okay so I'm going to be open and transparent about my bias. I'm an owner, lover and consultant.
I've had my thermie since July. I love it. Love it. Love it. It makes life so much easier and more interesting. And we eat healthier, wholer foods. I get such a kick put of replacing things that we previously bought processed into things I've homemade. Soooo easy.
I use mine all the time. Just this weekend gone, I made 2 batches of butter, 2 massive quiches (pastry and all), rum balls, rocky road, very large bowl of coleslaw, sorbet, hommus, sundries tomato dip, 2 batches of apricot jam, bread rolls, double batch of icecream and a cake. All in the thermie. I only used the oven when needed and fried the bacon in a frypan for quiche. Oh and a saucepan for sterilising jam jars. And I didn't spend all weekend in the kitchen!!
Has he seen one in action? My advice, if he hasn't, have a demo. They're easy and really informative. Men (and women) need to see it working. I did and DH def needed to. If and when he has seen it in action, google google google. There are a few threads about negatives (minimal and subjective IMO) and heaps on positives and money saving. Both DH and I needed to know the cons before buying so we could weigh them up. Needless to say the pros won by a long shot.
