Cool, Lisa! Have fun! Mine's candy apple too, beautiful piece of equipment!
:)
I can't wait. :)
I have decided she is a girl, but am stuck on her name.......
I did a booboo tho.. I found an email on dhs iPad that has a list of attachments.. I didn't read tho but looks like she's getting presents on mothers day XD
I out felt on the top of the cupboard she's stored in just incase she's bumped.. :)
LISA! Stored in a cupboard!!?!?!!!!!!! NOOOOOOOO, needs to be on the bench!! Too pretty!!!!!
BG - PM'd you :)
I have two very touchy kids that have figured out how to climb to her... :(
My eldest strokes her alot :) he's going to make her all dirty and scratched
Ahhh, well that's fair enough then. Can't wait to see what you name her :)
I first thought "Celia" but I'm not sure it suits.. But Sofia is a frontrunner :)
:leap: congratulations LisaBear
Thanks :)
any name yet?
I am now the proud owner of a mixer, food processor and blender
I have just unpacked them (from Kitchenware Direct) and I can't believe we finally have KitchenAid. I always wanted a red mixer but DH really liked the pink and it has a 50's housewife feel to it so I was happy to agree but then finding colours in the others to match was a pain so we ended up with almond cream for both. The food processor is enormous! hahaha
I have named our pink mixer Audrey and our blender Betty and have left it up to DH to decide on the food processors name.
I am so excited I don't know what to make to christen them. I have the free cookbook so will grab a cuppa and have a flick through and the DVD has printable recipes too so will check those out at some point. I can't wait to use them - excited!!!
WOOHOOO! Congratulations! You won't know yourself now... You'll have to tell us what you christen them with ;) I can definitely recommend the carrot cake for the food processor (it's on the website), as well as the donuts or crepes in the blender (also on the website) and pretty much ANYTHING in the mixer ;)
Yay!!
So I thunk I'm going to name mine Tiffany :)
I have just done cherry and pistachio biscotti from the cookbook :(
our KA bits and pieces have been getting a workout the past month or two. loving them all (i have the same collection as Tinsel - only ours are black!)
Thanks Rouge, I've always wanted to make a carrot cake and donuts :o yum.
LisaBear did the cherry and pistachio biscotti not turn out so well? Why the sad face :(
BG, I really wanted black for the others but DH thought it would look too 60's with the black and pink. It wasn't an easy decision.
Oops :) I'm on my phone..
But I don't really like the pepper bit... Might dip them in white choc
i wanted either silver/chrome or black (to go with the rest of the stuff in the kitchen - when i couldn't get all three in the same silver/chrome finish, black was the easy winner
i loved some of the colors but ultimately i let practicality decide me. can't change the color of this kitchen to fit around my KA whim, so i went practical colors lol
Ooh I've been meaning to join this thread for ages! I have a KA mixer in the anniversary edition candy apple red. I just love it! It is very well used.
Also for Easter DH got me a set of red KA saucepans (can you tell my favorite co our yet?) They are just beautiful to use. I didn't even know KA made saucepans....
It's taken all week but I finally christened Audrey by making Sultana Scones from the KA cookbook. I was a little apprehensive so started with something simple. They were yummy too and I had a big smile turning her on for the first time. I think I will do a ****tail in the blender to christen that tonight and the carrot cake in the food processor. DH has renamed our blender to Belinda and called our FP Frank.
My ka cookbook doesn't have the scones in it??
I'd there two books??
Hmmm I got it with my order this week and it's called The Ultimate Mixer Cookbook - 150 international recipes...It might be on the website.
I am proud to announce the "birth" of a new candy apple red KA mixer by the name of " Ruby"...I like to stroke her and gaze at her lovingly. She has only been out of her box around 2 hours and I dont want her to get dirty.:D
Congrats!!!!!
I love my candy apple one! She has a cover so my kids don't get her all fingerprinty!
Thanks I am thinking the same thing, also she is quite close to my cooktop and i am worried she will get dirty and splashed a bit.
 glad you were converted ;)
I have that colour too and she's beautiful!!!
Apologies for not reading through th entire thread.
Can someone tell me the difference between the basic KA Food Processor and the Artisan model?
Is it just extra bowls and things that can be purchased separately or us the motor and or functionality different?
I know with the stand mixer the artesian model has a more powerful motor, maybe it's the same with the food processor? Sorry, not much help.
Some functionality. It doesn't come with the dual feeding tube and if you were to cost all the parts you get ie. Slicing/grating discs, mini bowl, chefs bowl, whip, citrus juicer etc it works out heaps cheaper to get the artisan.
OMG DF surprised me today with a brand new empire red kitchenaid mixer!!!!!! I am so excited, its my birthday next week but we wont be home and knowing I would want to play with it this weekend he decided to give it to me early!!
Where to start!! What will I make first!! LOL
hi ladies
just wondering if you might have some suggestions on a cooking book for kitchen aids? I want to get a cooking book for a friend for xmas and i know she loves her kitchen aid. Any suggestions would be great.
The two books that come to mind are the mixer bible and the ultimate kitchenaid cookbook. You should be able to purchase either of these online, or at house/matchbox etc.
Oh dear you guys! I decided I wanted a KA, and now I've read this whole thread and realised I don't want one, I need one. Badly.
So I read about getting the attachments from Amazon and how they don't fit an Aus model KA, but what if I bought the actual KA on Amazon? There's a beautiful Artisan Design 5-Quart Stand Mixer in the raspberry ice colour. I'm in love and it's just a picture! It's $443.55 including postage so it's a great price compared to buying here in Aus, but is it a good idea?
i think you'd need to get a power adaptor for it - and if there were any warranty issues, it might be a problem getting it repaired
Oh yeah, I forgot their plugs were different over there! I think I might be willing to accept the warranty issue, I've never had to use a warranty before. But, now that I've said that, it'd probably break on me lol :D
Omg I just saw the hot metallic pink Christmas special colour mixer! Want!

If you purchase one OS You need a power supply (big ugly box) to convert the power. It also doesn't meet aus safety standards (one of the reasons it's dearer here) and of course warranty.
The KSM156 (platinum range) are gorgeous! Even though I'm not a blue person the electric blue is beautiful and candy apple is back too!
Guess what Santa bought me!!!!! I'm in looooooooooooove :) What to make first?! I have no extra attachments yet... I am trying to think of a name for it... maybe Ruby. Maybe Helga
 Woooooooooooo MG!!!! I'm guessing red at the name! Mine is Rosie!!! My first thing was meringue!!! Enjoy lovely!
