It is terrible when you get addicted, improve your palate then get stranded isn't it!!

There is a big movement in the coffee world to other methods of brewing coffee apart from espresso. You are on the right track with the plunger - if you get some good beans, freshly roasted and designed for a plunger, syphon or other gentler method of brewing, you can get incredible flavours. Coffee Snobs is an excellent site... they even sell green beans and give advice on home roasting - now that is a whole new world!!

Are you anywhere near Glen Osmond Rd in Adelaide? Bar Nine in Eastwood is an excellent place to get a coffee. The guy behind it is a really passionate member of the Coffee Geek community and he has a number of brewing methods he uses. You could chat to him about other options if you are looking for a local paid up member of the coffee geek club!

We have a coffee shop in Melb and we were very impressed with Bar Nine when we visited earlier this year. Other options in Adelaide were pretty disappointing... I think he may have even featured some of our coffee at one time...

So yes, coffee snob (or I prefer the term 'coffee geek' ) here!

ETA: Just remembered the Australian just published a list of the best Coffee houses in Australia a few weeks ago. Bar Nine was the only Adelaide one to get on the list!
