I don't think having shakes is cheating at all Coco. It is a meal replacement diet. I wish i could go on the shake diet but i'm lactose intolerant. It is also a cheap diet. It is very difficult for the first few days and then it gets easier. I lost about 5 kgs in two weeks when i was on Soy shakes with TF but even the soy shakes did not agree with my body.

CM - i agree. Fruit is pretty expensive esp at Woolies and Coles. Something like $5 per kg of apples, you gotta be kidding. I tend to go to the market or the green grocer. Cereal too. I paid like $6 for a box of special K with chocolatey flakes. Yes, it is yummy but a little expensive.

Almost time for lunch, country beef soup, with a small roll and a mandarin. Apple and Sultana Pancake for afternoon snack..

Oh. this water drinking thing is hard this time around. Too cold for chilled water
I have a tip for anyone who is interested: During the colder months I get a 'glass' 1ltr bottle (the glass fruit juice ones are good) and I make up a yummy herbal tea, rosehip is great as it's so yummy... I also use pepermint, green tea, soak fennel seeds (great for fluid retention) squeeze a fresh lemon juice into it (whatever) when it cools down a little I poor it into the big 1lts bottle and it goes down so quickly and easily! The bonus to this is that you are carrying around a hot water bottle too... This is especially great for my work office as I sit it on my lap HTH's some of you

    Turkish just saw your location!

Ok I feel like I have high-jacked this thread because I have posted so much today BUT I wanted to declare that Tuesdays and Thursdays are my biggest excuse days for not working out because I start work at 7am and don't finish until 7pm HOWEVER I do have a 2 hr lunch break SO today I did a 15 min workout and feel great... So proud of myself

Cocobambino I understand you can use whatever method you like, the weight loss and fitness is the main priority

CookieMonster fruit and veg are expensive and both DH and I are vegetarian I go to farmers markets or the local fruit & veg shop and we are about to start growing our own YAY... We don't eat cereal though as I have always thought it was a rip off!

I found the only way i could do shakes was by holding my nose, skulling it all down as quickly as possible, and then rinsing with water and/or juice. They're horrible things and it's so hard to get through the first few days. Good on anyone who can use them (props to Lucy she did so well!!) but I can't, I would rather rework my diet and eating habits from the beginning. And the shakes programs can be really expensive!!

I know the Herbalife is $120 a month just for the shakes but then they have all this other stuff they think you should take so then it becomes $400.... Not within my budget when we tend to spend less than that as a family on groceries per month. And their shakes were ewwww.

GL Coco, i have heard they get much easier as time goes on, if you have the willpower to stick it out they are supposed to be great as well. Are you BFing? If you are Just remember to still snack healthily because the shakes generally aren't 'enough' for a BFing diet.

Cherished - When i started going to the gym again only a few weeks ago, the personal trainer whoc does all my assessments recognised me and asked where'd i'd been. I told her i'll be back into it full swing again, this time coming in 7 days a week. She disagreed with me on that 1. i wasn't training to be an athlete or 2. even athletes have days off from training. Doing physical activity 5 times a week is excellent and plus you did some at work , so don't feel bad about it. We don't want to burn ourselves out in the first week!

Well I have been super good with food thus far - I find the hardest part is trying to still get the daily serves of things while restructing calories so much . . . but think I have found a happy medium - in my head anyway, my tummy disagrees.

Here. here on the burgen bread!! I find it heaps more filling then other varieties . . but am going to have to add good bread to the how expensive is food list

Hopefully bub will start getting sleepy soon so can head out for a walk. Would love to do the jog walk, but can't with my pram, tho anyone else find pushin those heavy things up hills adds intensity all on its own? Sigh - I wish I liked excercise . . I only like the feeling AFTER.

I hear you on the feeling after exercise. I find the best thing to do is go for a short walk, like 5-10 mins, gets the blood pumping, sweat starting etc... then come home have a rest, a strecth let the hormones kick in and then go back out for a long one. Stuffing around but might be worth it. Or even if you have steps at home, do 5 mins of up and down stairs?

Ok, i decided i should do this cause i really gotta loose this weight so my back doesnt hurt anymore! And for other reasons too of course but ykwim?

Im haveing a hard time trying to get motivated though. I was going to buy myself a treadmill but that could be a while off yet. I cant go for a walk because its so hilly around here and yep that may seem lazy but my knees/ankles and hills dont mix due to damage from playing netball when i was a kid. Also have no idea on diet. I am breastfeeding so not sure what i should be doing there either.

well girls, i had a few drinks last night, so had a very well lets say lazy day today, feeling the effects, so back on track tomorrw, heading to the gym in the morning me thinks.

oh when i feel like a choccy hit, i buy the little packs of turkish delights, much less fat than regular choccy, so if i need a pick up i go for one of those, but just have to make sure the kids dont eat them all.

Tacos are on the menu for tea tomorrow night. What do you girls think? Healthy or not? I'd be using one of those taco kits. If I use lean mince surely they'd be okay???
