njd- I do my personal training with Step into life- they are an Australia wide franchise thing. They promote themselves as group out-door personal training. My sessions cost $14 each- and we train for an hour, including warm up, main session and cool down/ stretching. At my local gym my membership was $35 month and a PT session would have been about $20 for 30 mins on top of my membership, so I feel like I am up on the deal. Plus I really like the idea of working out in a group, I had reservations at first about being the biggest, most unfit etc, but now I just go at my own pace, but use the pace of the people around me to help push me along, I also love the social aspect of it.
My trainer is male, and once I was over the shy, Im big and unfit and he is going to judge me etc, I realised that he was really actualley very supportive, and realistic in helping me set my goals etc.
In our session we do a warm up, depending on what sort of session it is, so either some focus mit work for kick boxing, with shuttle runs, cardio obstacle course (hurdles, medicine ball carry etc), this morning we went for a jog around the block, sometimes we play soccer or volley ball as our warm up. Main workout is really about keeping the heart rate up, so lots of running, k/boxing is lots of punching and kicking on the bag with running in between. I also do toning session where we either use fit balls and weights, rubberised bands with handles, or just weight- and this is alot of strenght stuff.
I guess really it comes down to personal choice, for me it works because I have a tendency to get lazy so having someone I know is going to be kicking me up the bottom, and ringing me if I dont turn up really works.
Forgot to say before that I got my wii and wii fit , and I love it- I know it is a novelty thing at the moment, but it is fun, and I figure even if I dont use it as the bulk of my excercise, at least it is better than just sitting on the couch watching TV. I like the idea of the free step, so I can just do step ups and still watch telly. Even DH is already addicted, and he doesn't like to do excercise at all, and he is already talking about getting in his 30 mins daily.

Awesome work everyone - you are all really getting into this!
I havent done anything different, from what i started doing in March. Since march i have lost about 6 kg's and i havent been doing my measurements, but my SIL said to me the other day (she hasnt seen me since march), she said "wow have you lost heaps of weight?" I was stunned as she doesnt say much, let alone something like that so that was good. I can feel and see it, so can DF so thats awesome!
I met with the personal trainer who is taking the boot camp. It starts at 6.15AM on monday morning. CANNOT WAIT! its gonna be so hard but so good!!!!
There is only 8 in our group... and although im slightly apprehensive i am looking forward to it and im determined.
I wanna do some personals but there is so many and i have boxes i need to pack. So when i have a minute i will drop in..
HAPPY MOTHERS DAY TO ALL OF US for sunday :D

AHHH! I put ON 100g. Its only 100g but still. So i had today off, and am paying for it now! Ate a creamy seafood thing today and now probably have to run off back to the john!
I did do something for ME today (coz tomorrow we're going to a car show. Then seeing mil... ). Firstly, went to the shops with dh and ds. I had a massage! I went to the library (dh and ds free!). Picked up some Weight Watchers books off the shelf that are always on request. When i got picked up, ds nappy had been changed twice (inc a dirty one, which dh can't normally change!)and ds was asleep! Lunch at a pub then some specials at bunnings. House tidyed. What a great day! It may sound boring and simple, and a day before mothers day. But i enjoyed it!
Sorry to bore you there, just thought i'd share with you! Will be walking tomorrow! I'm about to print off some signs for my kitchen saying 'the more i drink the more i shrink', 'the more i move the more i lose' and a quote from my weight watchers leader for tracking what i eat 'you bite it you write it'.
Hope every one has a fantastic mothers day!
-
i have to say, i went to a spa for the massage, not in the shop. :p
-
great motivation there Scone!
Keep going all ... I had a bad day, kids' birthday party and the healthiest thing there was the fruit punch I brought! Ahhh well. Didn't have tea tonight (didn't need it) and no alcohol tonight either, just drinking my water.
Ali - sounds like your bootcamp is brilliant!
Well, tomorrow's another day :) Have a good one all.

Thanks cherished, we've set the date for 15th August.
Cookiemonster, I hope that the meals are not tooooo bad but most of all I hope you enjoy your night out.
Thanks njd, unfortunately didn't get to eat too much of my party food as I was running around talking to people etc. I did manage to get a taste of my little mini ham and marscapone pizzas before they got scoffed down!
Kazbah, I made some mini zucchini frittatas for the birthday party today and they don't have cream in them but they do have sour cream. Just 8 eggs, 2/3 cup light sour cream (don't know if that is just as bad as regular cream?) and grated zucchini with some parmesan cheese.
Papillon, that's fantastic when other people notice! Good work on the loss so far.
Scone, sounds like you had a lovely day. And yes I think you can get your goal in 7 weeks!
AFM, PHEW! What a long day. I have only just sat down. DS's first birthday party was today. He's not one until Monday but we just had the party today. I made lots of goodies which I hardly got to eat because I was too busy to put food in my mouth. That's a good thing I guess! I didn't even eat a piece of his cake, although there is some leftover. There are pics of the cake on my FB if anyone wants to peek. I did a teddy bears picnic theme. Anyway, so after a long day there was no time or energy left to get dinner so DF nuked a couple of meat pies in the microwave for us for dinner. Not exactly healthy I know.
Tomorrow's going to be a bit hard with the food as I'm putting on a breakfast for my mum and family for Mother's Day, bacon, eggs, hash browns, chipolatas, fried mushroom and tomatoes, OJ. Will just stick to eggs and muffins I think. Then for dinner we are going to MIL's place and she's making a green curry which are just divine. Will definitely squeeze some exercise in somewhere.
I'm envious of all you girls with PT's. I want one too!

Morning everyone,
Laranna well done, it sounds like you ate relatively well considering all that yummy food you made  and it's often hard(for me anyway) to not pick at the lollies and chips through out the day.
Scone your day doessn't sound boring at all it actually sounds divine, especially the massage part :p I'm a big one for self pampering!!!
Papillon your boot camp sounds great can't wait to hear all about it
Ali your sessions also sound good... What a relief to have a such a great trainer
Kazbah was it you saying a while back that alcohol will be the hardest thing for you??? Last night I would have looooved a glass of red! The only thing that stopped me was that I ovulated and didn't want to drink if I was pg! Sadly the weight loss part wasn't the motivating factor
Trillian Well done on your loss of 20kg  and great dinning out tricks there... years ago when I wasn't vego I would always order the fish and salad cause it's a light option but now I will order a yummy salad and herb/garlic bread or turkish bread and dips... because I don't eat much bread at home it is a treat when I am out and tastes soooo good. And it's just like having a salad sandwich really. The other thing I do if it's indian or thai is not have as much rice but pick out the vegies & tofu... And dh and I always share so I don't get that mental thing of "we've paid for it so I'd better eat it" because dh will just eat it OR he will be happy to just leave it on the plate if he's full. The other thing I do is eat slowly, I know we are always told to do that anyway but when I am out I find it easier to do... I just sit back and enjoy the atmosphere and sip on my ONE glass of wine.
krysalyss Your salad sounds so yum especialy the sprouts ( I love salad) and those spring rolls are such a winner! You can eat heaps of them and they are really healthy.
AFM Today I am over the moon!!! I'm 1DPO and can't wait to get a BFP this month... Looking forward to a workout today and than helping dh in the garden again. As for the weight loss I got on the scales this morning and had lost 600g which is great... hopefully it will be more by Tuesday morning... You girls are kinda putting me to shame  my workouts have started out pretty short and sweet... But I plan to make them longer and harder as I get back into the swing of things... I figure a 20 min workout is better than no workout and I feel good doing 'something'...

Ugh yesterday was a write-off and I feel gross! Dinner (ocean harvest - lots of seafood, salad and fruit) was wholly unsatisfying, and my one drink and 1/2 desert gave me an awful headache.
The only thing I can be happy about is that we did a lot of walking around the plaza yesterday and I drank about three times as much water as I have been.
We are going for a long walk to the park today, it seems like a lovely day and DS will enjoy it too.
BBL xo

Apparently DH is taking me to deBortoli and the Yarra Valley Dairy for late lunch/afternoon tea ...
oh dear.

Ok so ive worked out coming back to work after a weekend of no checking this site means i spend my first 20 minutes catching up hehe.
Friday night had a bad one pizza for dinner aaahhh but ive looked up a bunch of low fat low carb meals that im going to start trying out. First one was saturday night and was beef stroganoff was ok not the greatest. Walked the dogs yesterday and did sit ups before bed, cheated and weighed myself this morning. Gained like 300g. Bit depressing but just going to have to work harder!!
Have a good day ladies!

I really need some help!
I can't get motivated and this head cold I have is killing me! I hate winter... I can't get out and walk like I want to because it is cold as!
I really need to get some good music on my Ipod so I can cycle to that! Might need to make up a cd even with 1hr worth of music!
Can someone give me a kick up the butt with some motivation!
I feel FAT!!!
-
*kicks MK up bum* I agreee with the weather, although i live on the Gold Coast its cold in the morning and as soon as the sun goes down its cold in the evenings! Definately get a CD pumping, even if you do up a few so you dont get sick of the songs! You may get rid of that cold sooner if you sweat it out
-
had red rooster for lunch yesterday (but cous cous for breakfast and nothing for dinner). So pretty much used my daily allowance. I want to go for a walk today, but will wait til it's warmer I'm toddler free today until 2 So I should get as much done around this house as I can! I'm going to try and make dinners (coz I'm working 3-7 today and tomorrow) and maybe get out Eye Toy Play for the ps2 and give that a go!
-
Weather is the biggest motivation factor here too MK, but we all go out , when DF gets home from work. Turn the heater (RCAirCon) on before we leave, go out into the cold... and take a brisk 30-60 minute walk around the area. By the time we get home it is too warm for the heater, and we're both starving so dinner magically gets made quicker ;)
Probably not as easy for you to rug up three boys but maybe you can get up an hour earlier in the morning and take DS3 for a stroll and make DH cater to the kids while you're out if they wake up?
Aamy4, yes lots of catching up on Mondays. Normally I am a more prolific poster on the weekends but had a busy one!
Kaz - Oooooer I hope you were as good as you could be! Sounds romantic though!
Ali - glad to hear you are enjoying the Wiifit! Just work at it to make sure you keep going when the novelty wears off. I am using mine again at the moment, but just doing the bodytest and yoga if DS gives me enough time. I keep meaning to fill in the activity log but if i fill it in, in advance, I feel like it is cheating and I never remember to afterwards!
Pappy!!! - Sounds great darl, I hope your training this morning was all you could ask for! ie; worked you very hard, made you hurt, made you think you would be better off dying than exercising etc... I hope it all works out for you!!
Scone it sounds like you are doing really, really well! Glad you enjoyed your massage!!
LARANNA: :birthday: Happy birthing day to you and Happy 1st Birthday to DS (is it Joshua? or am I losing my mind?!!!)! I was thinking of you yesterday remembering you had DS on Mothers Day, I hope this one was less painful than the last ;) I am also envious of those with PT's. Would kill for a Gym within 50kms too. hah!
Cherished, I hope you get your BFP this month! I wouldn't worry too much about your short and sweet exercises, that's me here too. I don't want to burn myself out which inevitably always happens, so were just short and sweet here too. Walking with more difficult inclines on the better days and then I get on the boke or use my skipping rope / wii fit when I have time away from DS!
AFM! Well Saturday was a write off. But we did a lot of walking so I was okay with that. Yesterday everything was good except that DF bought me A Homer Hudson Choc Pud for dessert, which if you havent had them are absolutely TO DIE FOR. So we shared that too. I feel like I have a lot of exercising to do today to make up for it.
First up being going to the shops to get a few groceries! Am also considering walking to the post office but DS is sounding like he will need an early nap so not sure yet!

I hope everyone had a great weekend and Mothers day. I had a bad food day yesterday, but refuse to let myself feel guilty about it- I have decided that as part of my healthy lifestyle (because I don't use the word diet anymore) that there are going to be ocassions when I eat too much or the wrong thing, but that is life, the key is going to be letting that be a one off occasion and not an excuse for a 3 week eating binge.
Weather- I totally agree with it making motivation for excercise difficult, although for me I actualley find it nicer than excercise in the heat.
This morning at training we did a road run, my trainer told me I was doing a 4.4km run, and I was almost in tears at the though, I told him I thought I could only do 3km, but he was firm and told me that 4.4km was what I was doing. So off I went and even though I was at the back of the group and finished last, I would jog for as long as I could- walk and recover and start to jog again, I did my 4.4km's in 32 mins, and shaved 42 sec per KM off my previous road run time (I did 3 km last time) I was so proud of myself.
I also have a new and more definate goal to work towards, DH told me yesterday (in a lovely romantic way- see my woohoo post) that he is happy to have another baby. So I had always said I needed to loose a min of 20kg before I got pg again, and I want to start trying at the end of the year, so I need to loose at least another 13kgs.
-
Ooops had a bad day yesterday but it was Mother's Day so I refuse to feel guilty about drinking Pommerey French champagne ;)
Anyway back to the gym in an hour and I will see what this weeks results are and if I need to do anything different.... I don't actually feel as though I have lost any weight at all but may have toned up a bit.
-
Ali - Woohoo on DH agreeing to have another baby!!! That is a serious motivator to lose that last 13kg. You go girl.
Sounds like we all had bad weekends but it was Mother's Day after all. I had a bit of a bad weekend too but back on the wagon today. Bootcamp this morning, worked really hard and so far this morning have been really healthy. Lets hope I keep it up today!
Will have to come for more personals later when I have a bit more time.

:leap:
That's awesome news Ali!
