On top of your normal calorie intake, right? Otherwise that doesn't seem nearly enough.
You know what? and yeah, I keep agonising over this sadly, maybe I'm getting the portion sizes wrong. Because I was nearly over before dinner and I was STARVING! Maybe I need to actually weigh things for a few days to get the gist of weights so I can accurately put it in. I don't know if that will be better or worse. Can I change the measurements on myfitness to be our measurements instead of ounces??
Hmmm, just playing as I type this. I put down 16oz of Swiss Cheese and that converts to 453 grams. I DID NOT eat half a kilo of swiss......feeling slightly better. Off to fix my mistakes.
I always weigh my food. Often I underestimate things like cheese, and over estimate sultanas and cereal. I also dish out my dinner with a measuring cup so if I am having rice, for example, I know half a cup is my limit.
Hahaha, half a kilo of cheese?? That is crazy! Though Swiss cheese is seriously yummy :)
Try putting in the actual brand, cos they are Australian they usually have it in something that's meaningful to us. It's definately worth being anal for a week or so to get a really good idea of what you are eating and what it contains. I was shocked when I first started doing it, particularly on how far I was exceeding my daily sugar and saturated fat! Portion size is a big factor for me so I do check it, but only for the big ticket items that are high in calories, anything that has a wrapper that I can't find in the database I manually add in, fruit and veg is approx only.
Raupe- definately on top of :)
Today is my exercise day of rest, nothing to report here! Taking the kids to the park, trying to come up with something fun to do this afternoon still.
Phew! I was worried, appletree! I thought you're seriously starving yourself!!
@ PRMG  Half a kilo of cheese?? Hahahah Awsome! I wanna see you eat that :o You'd be constipated for weeks
Walked the kids to school again today and WAS going to walk to the park but it's meant to be 28 today and i don't have shorts or a skirt with me and no trackies so we are drving down, i am not 100% sure the fruit i am taking with us would have survived a walk in that heat anyway!
I honestly don't feel like i have lost 6kg, my clothes seem roughly the same so have no idea whats going on.. am gong to keep it up though.. i may not look great just yet and i still get flustered when we walk but i FEEL like there is a difference.
Will update everyones stats tonight so if you haven't sent them please PM me your details and KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK EVERYONE!
I could eat half a kilo of jarslberg cheese.. yummm .. My ex used to work at the deli in woolies, he used to bring home heaps. lol
Has anyone here heard of shirataki noodles? or sometimes theyre called konnyaku .. Well 100g of noodles have 6 calories :) .. They are packaged in water, and the have a sligtly fishy smell, but they dont taste it. Theyre more for Asian sort of dishes. Great for adding to stirfries :) ..
Thanx fo r the calorie tips too :)
 Kate!!!!
ZF - You look great, keep up the good work.
Raupe, Appletree & M2A, I probably could eat 1/2kg Jarlsburg. YUMMMMMM. But I'll stick to my couple of squares. Hehe.
Just back from my walk, missed the weather last night so had no idea how warm it was going to be today. But glad I got it in early. Didn't do a second walk last night, after my whopping one I was so tired once the day was ending, plus DH was out. But boy, did my dogs give me evils..... Have a good day everyone!
It's gonna be a hot one here, too. That's why I sneaked in my walk early in the morning. Off to work in couple of hours.... Sigh....
PS: I thought it was supposed to be "snuck" in, but apparently the right past tense is "sneaked"... doesn't sound right to me , but, oh well, can't argue with my dictionary now, can I? :D Stupid confusing English language *shakes fist at the English language*
your bub's pretty little M2A. When DS was that age I cut my cals significantly to help DH lose some weight and my milk suffered.
ATM I'm still on 1800cals a day. DS still feeds 3times a day. Any less and he notices (and I drink A LOT of water so it's not fluid loss that makes a difference f0r me).
 umm nope my black pants a pair of jeans and a skirt that is not exactuly casual.. BUT i just went and bought some 'walking clothes' some 3/4 leggings, some short leggings (tight and prob don't look great) and some 3/4 trackes but sadly they are still a size 18 and VERY tight around my butt... who has some butt exercises for me?
Am wearing the 3/4 trackies and a new tank top but i don't feel very attractive in them but it's hot and i need to wear them in anyway... rofl.
Walked the boys to school but didn't walk to the park, had a big run around though and the boys have swimmng tonight and then Macca's.. going to get a salad and a mcchicken i think.
M2A, i was googling your noodles and found a weightloss website which suggested you do a creative visualisation by choosing a new body and sticking your head on it, so i thought i would share with you all as it is pretty funny! Also, it managed to distract me from the bag of cheese and onion chips which are yelling at me from downstairs :)
Damn, i am hot!!

Haha, love it! Go to face in a hole dot com .. You can put your face onto bodies too hehe ..
I usually buy the noodles from miraclenoodle dot com, or ichibajunction dot com dot au , but they go out of stock at ichiba really quickly .. And at miracle noodle you have to buy them in lots of 10 at the least which is about 40 bucks. I have heaps here if you want to test them before you buy them? Theyre not like normal noodles, they have a consistency of like, ummm, have you eaten a vietnamese rice paper roll? well its like the rice paper .. :)
One thing I used to do was get a picture of a girl in a magazine in a bikini or something and stick it on the fridge handle, or on the cookie jar etc ..
LOL appletree and your pic. One sexy mama!
Raupe - I bought all the ingredients to make your lasagne - any tips for me? Can't wait!
I'm trying a meatloaf tonight. I haven't made one before, but thought I'd give one a go for something different. I've always found them to be a bit dry, so will see how it goes.
Best bit of my day was when my mum called past and she asked if I'd lost weight. WHOOP!
lol ZA I had a bit of a giggle at your hot 28degree day....sorry  ...have reminded me to go and get some decent walking clothes though.
Hot one here today too (35) so I bought some new batteries for the wii fit board and will get that out once the kids are in bed. Walking too far in this heat is unbearable. Did walk DD to school today though just before it hit 30, and I got burnt!
Have some vegetarian dahl in the SC so I don't have to worry later too. Didn't realise how much vege we really eat until my parents were here for a fortnight. Poor DS got a bit blocked up with all the stodge. My dad won't eat anything 'alternative', which is ridiculous that our way of life should have to go out the window, but at least mum cooked a fair bit so i shouldn't really complain.
I was actually thinking about meatloaf tonight too! Was thinking about trying this recipe, but just with one type of mince
Meatloaf With Rosemary Pears Recipe - Taste.com.au
I love the idea of adding apple to it as it should make it nice and moist! Hooray on your mum asking if you have lost weight- that is awesome :)
