PRMG: yay for your mum asking about your weightloss!! With the lasagne, make sure you don't start too late. It takes about 45min in the oven (mine is old and crappy and slow). When I made it DP was already hungry and by the time it was done he was literally starving  oops, bad girlfriend! Heheh
This is what I do for a BIg lasagne:
Usually I brown one onion first, then add two cloves of garlic, then add 500g minced beef (we use the heartsmart one or low fat). Once the mice is browned, I add the veggies (I grate three carrots and one zucchini with skin and all - the skin has most of the nutrients.... and it saves time peeling ;) ) Then I add one tin kidney beans, but make sure you rinse them REALLY well! That 'juice' they sit in is what makes you fart! So rinse it all off! I finally add about 400-500g chopped tomatoes (I use tinned, 'cause it's easier), about 250ml or more of beef stock and then add heaps of herbs, salt and pepper to taste. I use dried oregano, basil, thyme (or 'mixed herbs') and I personally also like a bit of chilli, cayenne pepper and smoked paprika... Very non-traditional, I know. Then I get a big baking dish and add some of the sauce. Spread out, add one layer of lasagne sheets, then add more sauce etc until all your sauce is gone. (I think I get about 4 or 5 layers). I then finish it off by putting a few spoons of sour cream on top and then sprinkle with a little bit of low-fat cheese. And then I add more dried herbs on top - just because I can ;) I can't remember what temperature I use... I usually just look it up on the lasagne sheets packet. You can test if the lasagne is done with a fork. If there is a lot of resistance, the sheets are not cooked through.
Sorry for the long explanation! I hope you enjoy it!! Good luck!!

Got too excited Lol - double post

I had lasagne tonight as well, was delicious. I've done really well with my calories today, now all I need to do is resist the urge to snack tonight. I have bible group and there's usually good biscuits there so I'm going to have to sit on my hands to stop myself snacking lol

Morning all!
Thanks Raupe for the tips, can't wait to try it. Will let you know how I go!
Appletree - how was your meatloaf! I got my recipe from Taste too, and we both really enjoyed it. It was nice have something different.
ZF - After all the hard work you've put in, I think you can safely say you've earned your popcorn. Hope it was yummy. I love popcorn.
Hi to everyone else!
AFM - Took the dogs for a walk last night, so walked over 6kms yesterday, whoop! I'm so in the rhythm of it now, love that. And love the added energy too. Am about to head out again with DD before the heat sets in. Dunno how we'll go when the weather is really hot, but we'll see how we go. Tonights dinner is schnitzels and salad, but oven baked, not fried. I rekon they taste nicer that way anyway. Have a good day everyone!
-
Having a good week so far, am hopeful that next Monday will be a good day on the scales :D
-
Good work everyone!
We went out for dinner last night with the family (MIL, SIL +her DF, and Nana) and EVERYONE had Schnitzels, as it was "Schnitzel night" at the pub. Loaded with sauce and cheese and heaps of chips... *droooool* hehe, but I refrained!!! Yes, I had a salmon salad for dinner (and it was an entree size :o) Yep, DP was super proud of me while he was munching his Schnitzel . He kept asking me "Are you sure? Are you REALLY sure? You know we don't go out often... You can enjoy yourself tonight!" My response: "Yes, but I can't let my BB buddies down! THERE IS A WEIGH IN ON MONDAY, DUDE!! I gotta stay strong... For my peeps! word
Another thing: I lost my weightloss - buddy . My (future) MIL and I have been motivating each other, as she is suffering badly from Diabetes Type 2 and has to lose weight and I want to lose weight before we get married and start a family. So anyway, when we first managed to get under 100 kg together (so we were both in our '90's), we decided to have a 80's themed party once we hit the 80's (weight-wise, i.e. 89 kilos or 80 something kilos). Clever I know, hehe. I was sooooo looking forward to the party... But yesterday when I asked her how far she has to go before she hits the eighties (last time I checked she had 4 kilos to go) she said "I have to try and hit the nineties first!" :o She's above 100 again :shakehead:. And she's not interested in joining me anymore.... :crying: I lost my weightloss buddy... Now the pressure's on you guys  Keep me sane!!!
-
Raupe- well done on your salad!!! You are awesome, i will remember what you said and did for next time i need some willpower :) Thats a shame about your MIL :( I have never had a RL buddy, do you find they really help? I would LOVE a gym buddy as i reckon that it might make me push myself a bit harder rather than just sticking to what i know.
Traveller- fingers crossed for you!! Hooray for a good week :)
PRMG- i got side tracked from meatloaf and made Pork and Prawn San Choy Bau instead, i couldn't help myself, they were making it on Huey and it looked so yummy and i had never tried it before. It turned out really well, but the chinese pork sausages were really really oily so i think it was probably incredibly bad for me!
Kawazuki- remember when my life was like that, it is such hard work! Well done on the new top though :) That is awesome news!
ZF- Have you seen in coles the organic sweet and salty popcorn? They also sell it at Boost Juice. It is AMAZING! Swap that for your microwave popcorn and you will never look back or regret it! I love it, and never feel guilty eating it because it is not too high in calories or any of the other bad stuff. Its also great for the kids as an easy reasonably healthy snack which requires no effort.

Appletree - Thanks! I had another salad for lunch today and some super yummo blueberries *drool*. IRL buddy is good in theory, as they can 'check' on you - you might be able to hide behind your online profile, but IRL people can SEE if you are losing weight or not. But to be honest, it only works when you see each other a lot and talk to each other. In the last couple of months I have only seen MIL every 2 or 3 weeks or so, therefore we talked more about other things than weightloss. Also, I find if I talk too much about weightloss to my IL (all VERY overweight) they think I'm bragging or 'putting them down' rather than helping IYKWIM? Furthermore, if your 'buddy' is slowing down or being all negative all the time it's quite hard to stay motivated yourself... So right now I'm happy I got my online buddies - you are honest, supportive and AWESOME! And I am now at a point where I don't 'hide' behind my online profile anymore - because lying to my BB group means I'm lying to myself, too. :D So go BB group :cheer: we can do it together!!!!
-
 Raupe... glad your feeling comfortable, i am so happy we can all be here to support each other.
appletree - i normally just have air popped popcorn with nothing on it.. but dad had a few packs in the cupboard so i thought.. hmm what the hell.. i have heard that popcorn is nice.
Sittng down watching pocahontas with the girls, i love kids movies, espcecially the old good ones :)
-
Hey!! Does anyone wanna join me in the "Sit-up challenge"? ZF? :D Anyone motivated? Will start day one tomorrow!
:cheer:
-
what's the sit-up challenge?
I had a sneaky peek at the scales this morning :D
-
Liking the big smile there Traveller! Well done!
No can do on the sit up challenge for me. I have a very old back injury that rears its ugly head whenever I do sit ups. I can manage most other things, but not those.
It's too hot for a walk today, which really really sucks. I've walked 10 days in a row, a few of those twice a day, done over 40kms, and I really don't want to break it. Yesterday I struggled a bit in the warm weather, so I don't want to attempt it today. Wii fit for me today me thinks.
-
Good Job PRMG!!
Traveller: It's a BB challenge... there is a thread floating around somewhere.
I hope this link works Sit Up Challenge (hehe my first ever link!!)
AFM: This is what i have achieved so far:
One hour morning walk Done
50 sit ups Done
10 girl style push ups Done
10 arm exercises Done
Healthy Breakfast Done
Buy Salad for Lunch Done
:o And it's only 10am! I'm on fire today! I was cheeky and weighed myself on Wednesday and all I can say is :D
I still really enjoy walking, but I think I need more of a challenge now. I reckon once I'm under 90kg I'll start running instead of just walking... Let's see how that goes...
-
Too bloody hot here at the moment, ouside temp on the car says 35 :( Ava just wants to play but it's too hot... going to the park for tea with a friend, just dong chips cos were naughty... i'm not sure the scales wll like me next week but running after 4 kids might have it's benefits :)

Hi Ladies,
What a scorcher today! Crazy weather we are having, hey?
I have been sticking to my calories pretty well, though missed pilates and zumba last night to stay in and watch beauty and the geek! Oops, though i did a good session this morning at the gym, i did an awesome 35min bike ride, 15 mins elliptical rider and really pushed myself with the weights session too- these thighs can now squeeze 70kgs together! Watch out DF :) Hahaha... I have only fitted in 3 gym sessions this week, so i might go again on the weekend, something i wouldn't normally do.
I went and bought myself some new scales today as my old ones didn't seem to be working very well (they kept telling me i was either 20kgs lighter than i am, or 10kgs heavier!). I now have some lovely digital ones as Target was having a 30% off scales sale. I had a sneaky weigh in, and wasn't particularly impressed. I will have to work extra hard between now and Monday! I think i am going to have to pull out the big guns and pay a lot more attention to what i am eating. When i was pregnant i cut out anything with more than 8g of sugar and made sure i had the lowest fat and lowest carb option available and managed not to gain any weight, so i think i might go back to this approach rather than counting calories. I am doing far too much exercise for the numbers to be going up rather than down.
Raupe- i am doing the sit up challenge too, and have been adding in girly style push ups afterwards as well! I am doing my sit-ups 10 at a time with a 10-20 sec rest in between, and the same with the push ups! Oops, better go and do todays challenge! I love to run, i started off by doing the couch to 5k running program which is based on gradually increasing the intervals you run for until you can run 5ks. Week 1 i couldn't even make it through the 60 second intervals and thought i was going to die, but i kept with it and ended up so please with myself to be able to do so well each week and push myself!
PRMG- Wow, 40ks?? That is really excellent!
