Sorry for that last post showing twice (and 12 hrs apart!) not sure why....
This sounds like a great place for everyone warning to achieve big losses to gather - we will need lots of support for a long time to come for this to happen!
I am struggling after losing my 17kg.... 30 to go!
At my lowest weight I was 63kg but I was 16 then so not sure if that is achievable now. That's why my aim is 75-80 and then I can reassess from there!
I am so glad to have found others trying to lose as much as me - it's such a daunting task it should never be tackled alone.
Im not on BB much these days but definitely feel like i need to be in here!!
For those on lite n easy, is it expensive? How do you go cooking for your partners when you're on lite n easy?
Oops just saw Tammie ask about cost too hehe
Ooh, fantastic thread! I've tried to follow some of the other weight loss threads, but I don't like the 'just suck it up' attitude - it's not always just laziness and bad choices!
My name is Keike, and I currently weigh around 145kg :hide: I need to lose 70-75kgs. At the moment I'm working with my naturopath to fix the heap of problems she's found, and I've also just started using a CPAP machine which has made an amazing difference - I actually have some energy now!
I look forward to doing this journey with you ladies :grouphug:
ETA - DH and I used to do Lite'n'Easy, it was great! We were surprised at how cheap it was, can't recall the exact figure, but you can do different options - 5 lunches and dinners, 7 lunches and dinners, breakfast and lunches and dinners, just dinners. I'd recommend going to the website and creating an account, it'll ask you some questions to see which meal type you'd be best on, and then you can find out the price. We had to stop for a while coz we couldn't afford it while I wasn't working, but now that we can afford it, I'm trying to make better meal choices myself, rather than ordering the meals. Simply because there's only the 2 of us, so I feel I should really be cooking dinner, but that's my personal choice ;)
This is so exciting! Makes it easy doing with others, having that support there. I'm off now to google lite and easy to see what its all about!
Oh poo Lite and Easy don't deliver to my area!!! Guess I'll stick to shakes? Anyone got any other suggestions?? I live in Toogoom (just outside of Hervey bay).
I am in denial - but I am probably looking at nearly 50 kg to lose.
A bit about me:
I am healthy (or so I tell myself), because I don't have any medical issues.
I can handle exercise (just this morning we went for an hour walk in the push, each of us carrying a child in a back carrier).
I am breastfeeding (and also put weight on, rather than lose it seems...I have been breastfeeding for 4 years and will probably be breastfeeding for 4 more)
I am hoping to soon be pregnant with No. 3 (maybe be already....hope hope hope)
I do not really put on weight during pregnancy (it seems...none with first, <6 kg with second)
I have a 4 year old and an 18 mth old.
I have a slender, eat-anything-never-get-fat husband. We have been together since I was 16 (high school sweethearts).
I wasn't fat as a teen (but I thought I was) and I wasn't fat as a kid.
Food is my challenge.
I am curious about the lite'n'easy breastfeeding program.
I read "the don't go hungry diet" last year, and it helped me understand why I get fat and my husband does not. It helped me understand alot.
I KNOW what are healthy choices, I KNOW healthy proportions, and I KNOW I must be active. It seems so simple...but really it is quite hard...there is a hurdle I can't quite get over. It is an emotional hurdle. It is that that I do not quite understand (yet).
SO today, I see this thread. I think: yes, lets band together. Support each other, encourage each other.
one thing is for sure: we understand each other.
Oh BellaBirth I could have written your post almost word for word.
Hi ladies I want to join your group but I have to wait until my bundle of joy arrives in 4 weeks time I currently weigh around the 130kg mark and am setting goals this year to get to 88 kgs by years end I have found that breaking goals up into small increminets makes it alot easier and giving rewards (not food) along the way helps my first goal will be 10% weight loss then I get something for that, So I will keep watching this space until I am ready to join. I will support you ladies along the way.
We can do it!!!
This is a great thread and i feel that i would fit in better here.
I currently weigh 105kgs and my goal is 70kgs. So i have a total of 35kgs to lose. I would really love to be 65kgs again but i think 70kgs is a good number to aim for.
My hurdles are my insulin resistance (but am on medication to lower it) and my PND - i have days where i cant do anything and have little to none motivation.
Nice work girls!
Just wanted to let you know, there is no Lite n Easy BF programme as such, they have 3 calorie levels and you can can choose your meal plan based on that intake.
You can also add mini meals/snakcs, soups and deserts to it which will increase your calories for BF.
I did Lite n Easy for the beginning of this pregnancy, I did the full 7 day breakky lunch dinner programme and it was about $160 from memory a week, the only thing you need to buy yourself is the milk.
It was fabulous, and most of hte food is pretty good, well worth it I think.
I still had to cook for DD and DH the weeks he was home (he works away a week at a time) but didn't find it hard, and DH often cooked for himself.
After bubs is born I will have 40kg to lose, I am a shortie too, by 'ideal' weight being 54kg. So that is the aim! I was there 5 years ago and can't believe how much weight I have put on, most of it whilst BF! lol :shakeshead:
WRT to shakes, don't do it. No point and it really isn't healthy. You will get further more effectively with a controlled diet and regular exercise. (Diet as in eating habits, not diet diet!).
Good luck everyone, I want my goddamned kickarse body back, and am bloody well going to get it. I am too young to be fat.
I'll certainly be joining this group once bubs is born. I'm guessing I'm about 135-140 at the moment, started this pregnancy at 120.
Due to tests etc I had a few years ago (5 years my god time goes fast) i know I'm over 50% fat!!!!
I want to start water aerobics but we aren't in the position for the fees involved so I'm going to make it a "treat" once I start my journey as I use to really enjoy that time to myself for me and only me.
J... with your PND - I have been there and I know how hard it is just to do anything other than basic care.
BUT if you can push yourself a) out in the sun & b) into getting your blood pumping, it will help significantly - even if you don't lose weight at first the effects on improving your pnd will be well worth it.
Well I said before that i want to lose half my body weight. I think it is unrealistic but it is what i am looking for in the looooong run. I will break my mini goals down later but I would be happy if I got to 75kg (pre-preg weight) which is still 35kg!
I already have a gym membership.... and what a waste I have not been for 4 months :(. The thing is I know once I go again I will get straight back into it, it is just getting over the fact of going again for the first time. I loved the gym so much i went every day for a month. And it wasn't because i was burnt out that i stopped it was because someone let slip to my mum and she made me feel like crap about it. Then we moved in with her and had so many time restrictions and noice restrictions it was too hard.
I know the right things to do for diet as well but i dont have the commitment. It would be good to have a support group to band together because losing this much weight is a huge life overhaul normally and not just small changes and actions here and there.
:yeahthat: (to both!).
Shakes dont teach you anything which is a problem because unless you want to be on them the rest of your life when you go back onto normal foods you wont have mastered portion control, knowing what you are intaking, you wont think about calories etc... Well worth looking into a dietician/nutritionist over shakes.
I have been reading this the last few days thinking i really need to join and get back on track, i have not weighed myself ro a long time now. Last year i lost over 10kg doind personal training and eating healthy before our wedding then i stopped p/t as i couldnt afford it anymore and have put all my weight back on and more. Im guessing i weigh between 130-140kg, and im short so probably need to lose 70kg to be at an ideal weight but my goal is to be two figures bye end of year.
I cant afford the light n easy program as i would need it for both of us, my husband needs to loseabout 50kg so we will be taking on this journey together. i am looking at joining the gym again though as we live in the country but our house is on a mega busy road and is not save to walk around here, if i dont join or partner with a gym buddy i will not go so i need to find someone to go with first.
Good luck everyone.
OK ladies so you have inspired me to do this without shakes.........ok ok now need to get my butt into gear and rejoin calorie king I think. It is fantastic for keeping me in check with what I eat through the day.
