Me too, me too! I also have 20 kgs to lose. And some cigarettes to kick (again ). I vote for starting on Monday as there's no way I can kick the ciggies during the week and I like things to start "fresh": ie, new week, new attitude! OK, I'm a little OCD
I too would love some real life walking buddies but I prefer to do the gym thing by myself. I did actually join the local Curves, but I haven't been for months with all the IVF crap that's been going on here.
Why don't you join the BB mid year body transformation challenge? There are many BB'ers on there trying to lose weight. We motivate, give support and advice to one another...
Hey Boobaloo and Meo I am excited to get this started! I have never done this before but I was thinking for me I need to be accountable for the food that I eat so some type of food journaling might be helpful to see how many calories I am eating. I am a healthy eater by nature I love all the good stuff but my DH brings so much junk in the house that I have developed bad habits. Portion control is my main problem as I can eat a lot!
I have some ladies I have been running with this past year and a running club I just need to make it a priority again. My life is a bit wonky since we found out about DH surgery but I need to exercise for stress relief. So it might be helpful to include daily activity to see how many calories we are burning.
Meo I used to belong to Curves and I have a weightloss book from them so I might have to check it out again for some tips!
So ladies let me know what you would like to do as far as being buds.
My weight has been an issue since I had the Implanon put in when DH and I started going out. Hadn't been on any contraceptives for a while and I'm really bad at remembering to take the Pill so thought it was the way to go for me. Well, 10 months later I had it out because we decided to start TTC and in that time I'd put on 10kgs! I think the hormones in the implant stuffed me around BIG time as I haven't been able to lose those 10kgs and now, with IVF I've put on another 10kgs. My mum came with me for the first egg pickup and when the anaesthetist asked how much I weighed (to give me the right dose of anaesthetic) and I told him 95kg, mum said "I've never weighed that much in my life, not even when I was PREGNANT!" Needless to say, that went down like a lead balloon! I've been a bit worried about the weight for a while, but now that we're taking an IVF break, it's time to do something about it. I'm going with the extra exercise and highprotein/low carbs diet. It's worked previously for me, but I just love my carbs so don't stick to it! Plus DH is half Italian, so there's LOTS of pasta-ry goodness in our house
I had kicked the cigarettes for the whole IVF thing, but we had disappointing results this round after everything was looking so positive, so we caved It's my fallback stress relief, so I think I'm going to take up exercising instead, it's better for me!
Anyway, I think a blog would be good, they're easy to set up, right? I'll go do that now before I forget!
Have a great long weekend everyone! I'm going to visit my mum in Ballarat, another reason I can't kick the ciggies until Monday, she smokes like a chimney!
Hey girls, I will be your cheerleader! If you all start up BB blogs, Mother Goose style, I can come in and keep you all going! My background is that I have lost 20kg, it took me ages, but I did it. I got my goal weight and BFP ont he same day - so I was my goal weight for about 1 week!!! Have only gained 1kg since then though.
Get blogging, and I will keep you motivated and give you heaps of tips!
