Double post. Sorry.
Well I had a great day today. Was very good and didn't indulge which I really needed to do after my weekend (which spilled over the Monday!) and did a 5km jog in a personal best time - 26 mins. So I am very happy today - woo hoo!
Hope you are all going great![]()
Double post. Sorry.
Hi all,
Well, I have had a good day here. Three meals and two snacks, lots of water, 40mins exercise (only walking). Lots of veggies, but not enough fruit, lol! I just can't get that balance right....I felt good not eating as much as I have been in the past few days, lol. My tummy needed a break!! I sent my wii off to get repaired too, so I will be able to do some wii-ing!! YAY! I'm so excited about it, I used it once when I got my wii fit and then DD broke it, that was in August last year! OK gotta go put two little rascals to bed!
Hi Krysalyss - wow congratulations that's fantastic! I'd die if I tried to run 1 km let alone 5 kms! I'm so unfit since having Amelia, before falling pregnant I was playing tennis at lunch time and going to the gym a couple times a week lol. Oh well, getting there.
I went for an hours walk with the pram today, walked to the shop instead of drove, I'm pooped now but so glad I did it. I'm really hoping for a better week than last week, although am going away with friends to our holiday house down south this weekend so will have to try and stay clear of naughty foods!
Hi Everyone else, hope you're all having a great day!![]()
Thanks for the replies re the waist measurement. I will stick with across the belly button which this week went up because I have AF againI have had 4 periods in 7 weeks and this time I've noticed lots of bloating. Not happy Jan, going off the mini pill for now.
Anyway, I just wanted to get ideas on how you remember to drink water. I am a shocker being at home with bub. At work, I easily drink lots but at home, just doesn't even cross my mind. What do you do?
Well done on all the exercise and good eating. With AF as well I have terrible cravings for sweet things.
At the moment whenever i sit down to feed DD2 i grab a glass of water, outside of that whenever i top up DD1's water i get water myself, we have a glass of water with lunch and cordial (naughty i know) with dinner.
Had MG yesterday, was quite good and stayed away from the sweets, only had 1 or 2 little things as opposed to going back constantly BUT then had a cake with a friend for her birthday but she made small slices ... good girl, slowly getting there.
Tinsel, I leave a bottle on the bench top and just try to remember to take a swig when I walk past it. I sometimes have trouble when I'm busy cause I just don't remember, but it usually works. But I don't like cold water, so if you like it out of the fridge...I dunno!!
Hi Ladies!
Oh Kim you are so kind lol, thankyou lovely! I missed the last meetup so am looking forward to the next one, I think once I go back to work next year Ill have to take a day off to go to them, they are so lovely and I met so many nice people there including you lol
Good on you Alison for walking to the shops too, its nice on a great weather day too and the babies love it too.
krysalyss good on you for your run! I used to run but not so much anymore but that is a good time.
So Im fitting into my pre preg jeans now, they are tight but on lol
xx I hope everyone is starting to see a difference, its very encouraging

Hi everyone! Well feeling good today. Have started off well with a poached egg on unbuttered toast, plus half an apple, and a skinny cappuccino. Just had a ginger nut bikkie and settling in to do some work. Have soccer training tonight so that is exercise take care of. The real challenge today is tonight when I take my brother to the movies for his b'day. I have promised munchies so will have to be careful not to indulge myself!
Have a great day!
Well, I have some news...I found out yesterday taht I'm pg!! Yayhehe, sooo excited. No wonder I put on a few cms, lol! I will be continuing with my healthy eating and participating in this thread, I will just be sensible, not that I wasn't before, lol!
Krys, with going to the movies, how about going to a supermarket before you get there and get yourself some healthier snacks so you don't feel you're missing out. DH and I used to get some small packs of pretzles or rice crackers, drid fruit or something like that, snacky things you can munch on but not too fatty/sugary.
Tinsel, if all else fails, I drink a glass of water before and after each main meal, that way I've had 6 without thinking and it makes you that little bit fuller.
Zarava we mainly use spray oil or another healthy oil if it really needs something (like risotto) so olive, ricebran etc.
Well done Krys! Wish I could get back into running. I used to love it, but pushing a pram takes all the joy away for me....
WTG Nat!
I'm having a pretty good week so far. Got some pants from ebay yesterday that I bought thinking I would work my way into them - well they're loose so that's a good sign....off to figure out what I'm going to have for lunch.
Congrats Lillias - how exciting! When will you be due? This time last year I was in the midst of 24 hour nausea aka all day sickness lol.......luckily it stopped at 12 weeks.......I still miss my PG belly and can't wait to do it again (except for the first bit of feeling yukko)............we'll probably start trying again at the end of the year as I'm 37 next month. I just want to enjoy my bubby girl for a bit first and I had an emergency c-section so OB told me I have to wait until she's at least 8 months before getting PG again to give my insides time to heal.....don't think I plan on trying quite that early anyway thank you!!
Hi Krysalyss - I loooove poached googies. Oh and with the movies, take your own popcorn, I do it all the time - you can buy the light packed microwave stuff, I just zap it before I leave, it's not hot by the time you eat it but at least it's something to munch on and much lower in fat then their popcorn loaded with butter (mmmmmmmm popcorn loaded with butter hee hee). A lot of the time it's pyschological when we eat snacks at movies and in front of telly, fill your belly up with something else it won't know the difference after a while.
Anyway, I'm off to take Amelia to her swim class, have to put her under again today, hate doing it but she seems ok. Then I'll come home and hopefully she'll sleep for 2 hours like last week afterwards and I'll get myself some lunch, rice crackers with a bit of low fat cheese I think.
OMG Kel!!! Woo hoo! That is awesome news! Congratulations! I so didn't expect that when I logged in here. LOL
You are the fourth challenger to get pregnant in the last 3 weeks which is pretty amazing.
Thanks for all the movie snack suggestions![]()
Wooo just found this thread and I have time to reply because I am home sick.
Just want to say Thanks Krys I think you are doing a great job - keeping yourself motivated plus going to extra mile to tally for the rest of us - that is committment.
DH and I fell off the wagon with the exercise. He is on two week shift rotation and last week they were 6:30 shifts, too late for walking when he gets home as DS is ready for bed. I however did jump on the cross trainer on Saturday for 15 minutes and it made me feel great. Too bad i came down with cold/flu on sunday and have felt knocked about ever since. I think i have bronchitis but i am dying to get back on the cross trainer. That said not enough energy to walk upstairs let along work out!
AAARGHGH. Congrats to everyone for sticking to the game its a really good effort. I hope to be kicking butt again in a few days.
Trying to be good today, had oats for breakfast and half a banana and then for lunch has 2 chicken, cheese & spinach cruskets and half of DD1's orange and a glass of water.. not perfect but better than 2 sandwiches some cordial or softdrink.
Hi Girls - I had swimming this morning and one of my mums group friends who I haven't seen for a few weeks asked if I'd lost weight! I was so excited! Makes you wonder what you looked like before though lol.....and I still have 4 kgs to go to get back to my pre pregnancy weight. Oh well, it's a good start.
Hope the Tom Cruise and roast vegies I'm having for dinner don't blow it, I did limit the oil by using spray oil on the vegies and none on the roast as it's marinated in honey and rosemary anyway. I'm drooling thinking about it, wish it would hurry up and cook!
Hi girls,
Well, I caved and weighed myself today, I've already put on a kg of what I have lost!! I'm barely 4wks pg! Maybe it's just all the crap I ate on the weekend catching up with me! But I so need to try to keep control of myself! I had cravings for chocky bickies which unfortunately DH indulged for me (and him!) tonight. He went to the shops and got me some tim tams. But I had 2 and felt yuck so I've put tmme away. Usually I could devour at least half a pack, more likely the whole thing!! Maybe this baby will like healthy food like when I was pg with DD. With DS I craved all the junk I could get my hands on, especially KFC which prior to being pg with him I couldn't stand. Now I can eat it no worries!! Though the thought of it at the moment is off putting! I also have heartburn already which I get really badly when pg so that puts me off food too....I will just have to be healthy to avoid it all or I'll be living on milanta!!! And I will go for a walk most days too, or maybe a swim, or one of my yoga DVD's.

ETA Kell we must have posted at the same time today (it took me ages to write that post, Thanks Nate). CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!
hmmm not so good for me today.
Because I didn't know what time we'd be home this arvie I hadn't planned a dinner. When this happens I always try to eat minimum calories during the day so I can be prepared....lucky I did that today.
DH wanted takeaway. We had chinese, but I had very small helpings of each dish he picked.....and then I snuck in a Turkish Delightwhile I was at Woolies buying the kids fruit.....
Oh well. Tomorrow is a new day....
