Ok girls, give me your most filling foods.....and things that I can eat to satisfy sugar cravings. I have a few limitations...I don't like to eat artificial sweetener, and I am not eating alot of dairy cause it upsets DS. I find that if I eat 2 boiled eggs and wholemeal toast for breaky then I am happy for much longer, but don't want to eat eggs every day. I had 2 weetbix this morning at about 7.30am and I'm starving, craving sugar.

try some other protein for breakfast - what about a piece of steak, or baked beans

protein in the morning is better for you than at night

I just had the BIGGEST temptation... morning tea at work! It was a cheese platter with other things like party pies and sausage rolls.

I was sort of good. I had some pate, grapes, 1 party pie (silly!) and a piece of cheese. I'm going to sumo salad for lunch so I will get something really healthy (Thai beef salad or something). I'll have to work my butt off at aerobics tonight!!

Oh a little woo hoo for me this morning. I put on my 14C sports bra and it feels loose - even on the last hook!

I am pretty sure that weetbix are a high GI food, so you will have a sugar crash a few hours after eating them. Try one of the low GI cereals instead.

I find that avocado on toast with tomato and bracked black pepper fills me

Amy, just wanted to let you know that 1 party pie isn't silly. Actually the fact that you only had one and then stopped is an extremely smart action. It isn't about cutting out everything that has a "BAD" or "JUNK" label, just eating them in smaller portions. It's all about moderation I think you did really well to only have one.

Kel, For a low GI cereal, you could try all-bran? I hear its delicious (). Google 'the glycaemic index and diabetes'. The first entry will be a .pdf file, scroll down to the second page and theres a table with low, medium and high GI foods. A great resource when choosing what to have for breakfast

I have museli for breakfast and instead of milk I stir in some yoghurt, just enough so that it's moist. It's really yummy, and not the highly processed on either, it has bran, oats, sultanas, dried apricots and almond slivers.

    hugs xoxo

I have either Special K or All Bran for breakfast and it keeps me full until mid morning when I generally have an apple or some grapes to tide me over until lunch.

My problem with breakfast is I eat really early (6am) so I'm pretty hungry by mid morning!!

Amy, yes I eat breakfast at 6am too so hungry by 9am.

I just have toast (grain) with jam and a coffee. Some cereals are really high in points! Then I have an egg on toast around 9-10am which pushes me through until 1pm lunch and I will have tuna with salad or something.

I think the way you do it - that is, breakfast then a mid-morning snack - is a great idea Amy. research shows that haveing smaller, more frequent meals is easier for you body to digest and helps make your metabolism more efficient (i hope that makes sense). Much better than inundating your body with a huge meal all in one go. And if you do that you're less likely to be starving by lunch so you wont be making radical "I NEED FOOD" choices (we all know what I mean!).

ETA: I just made one of those food choices Ate 4 weetbix. I was so bloody hungry! Wish I could remember to eat breaky at the proper time instead of eating a massive amount at once!

Makes perfect sense - thanks Leash! Great advice!

The thing that really bugs me (and it's tiny in the scheme of things) is the SWEAT!!

I usually only wash my hair every third day because I straighten it (which takes over an hour) and if I wash it too much it gets really dry. Ever since I have been exercising like mad I have been having to wash it EVERY day and it looks horrible!! I just get so dang sweaty when I'm out in the heat walking!

    Small whinge, very vain.

I agree. I have 5 small meals per day. Breakfast, mid morning snack, lunch, afternoon snack and then dinner. It is so much better for your body, keep metabolism going...

Lol amysarah that is my biggest complaint with exercising, it takes so long to dry and straighten my hair so I only do it weekends now. (the hair that is)
I have 6 meals a day breakfast, morning tea, lunch and two aftrenoon teas and dinner. I am so hungry breastfeeding, I find this works and I stay within my points without being hungry, if I only have 2 afternoon tea I am starving at dinner and eat too much and make bad food choices

Argh, can't wait for this month to be over so I can get online more! (see my boohoo from earlier in the month for the reason...)

I had a really bad week, junk food everywhere, but I managed two runs and I feel LOTS better.

Only had a loss of 0.4, but that's better than nuffin! This is a better week!

Well done to all you girls. I found this week the hardest so far, but I WILL GET THERE!

    Thanks girls!
I eat early too, sometimes as early as 5.30am cause that's when DD eats and she usually wants me to eat with her. I usually eat every 3-4hrs, but lately I have been ravenous 2hrs later. I have healthy breakys- cerial/toast/eggs. I guess I just need to find what satisfies me most and what cerials are good choices. I would have thought weetbix would be healthy! I don't put sugar or honey on it, just sometimes a banana. I have fruit for a snack, but sometimes that isn't enough for me. Usually I would have some low fat cheese, milk or yoghurt too, but I can't with DS bf'ing and being sensitive to it. I'm having major sugar cravings too, af is coming and it's pretty bad the week or so before I get it, so I'm trying to ride it out, but I'm having trouble! Grrr....this is tough!

Not Vain i am the same. I only wash my hair twice a week or it gets dry and it takes to long to do. BUT with exercising it gets greasier alot quicker and loses that clean feeling alot faster. I have taken to washing it a little more often but otherwise just tying it up.

Everyone is doing awesomely. Well my first mini goal was for tomo and it was to get to below 71kg as DH arrives home. On Wed i was 70kg so i am ecstatic at how well i've done. I have found the weight has shifted quite easily but i think with only losing 300g last week it has started to slow down so the next 6kg might be a bit harder for me. At least with DH home i can up the exercise routine.

Off to have some egg on toast. YUM
