Yep that sounds right. Mine was 5 minutes walk to warm up, walk for 90 secs, run for 60 secs, repeat for 20 minutes and then warm down walk for 5 minutes. I was out for a total of 30 minutes.
HunterMum - hope you feel better soon.

I didnt get to start today as DS has been unwell (= velcro baby!), so hopefully I can get out there tomorrow & do it. I want to do it when DP is home on break in the arvos so I dont have to take DS along in the pram. I think I will die enough on my own let alone with the pram in tow too! I did use my cross trainer tonight though .... and undone any good work with a bit of cake (darn the free samples DP bought home from work!!) haha
Anyone running today? Good luck!

I didn't end up running yesterday but I am going to today - it's a lovely drizzly day here so I'm going to get out of the house and do it after school drop-off - looking forward to it!
Congratulations to everyone who started!!
Help! It's pouring rain here today! I don't have a treadmill or access to a gym - so how do I do day two? I do have a mini trampoline - could I just walk around the house and do the runs on the tramp? Hopefully the rain will have stopped enough to go by this afternoon!
Morning ladies! I didn't end up running yesterday - about 5 minutes in the rain started and I ended up turning around and coming home. I really loved being out there again - boy could I feel my extra weight when I jogged!!!
Going to the gym this morning and will finish the whole first run again - looking forward to it!
How did you go Ausgirl?
Oh dear I haven't even started! Maybe this arvo if I get all the boys down to sleep!
I was going to go as the rain had stopped, then we had a torrential downpour - I just couldn't work out how to do it inside - so I figured it said 3 days per week - I skipped an extra day and hopefully this afternoon will be more favourable!
Bloody rain lol i got soaked from just being in it for a few minutes - but the warm shower afterwards felt so good!!
Hope your run goes awesome today!!!
Finally got to start last night. The running bits made me realise just how unfit i am!
Y'all seem to be doing so good! We should be proud of ourselves

Ash - How did your run go today? Did you manage to finish it?
AFM - I did day 2 on Wednesday but think I"ll wait til tomorrow to do day 3. DD and I just got back from a BIG walk (we decided to take a train into the city to have lunch with DH). The trip from home to the train station was 25 mins each way as it was, let alone all the city walking!
Great to see so many motivated people. I didn't get up at 5am to start today. Needed to be back before 6am so DH could go to work. But I felt guilty (which is great!) like I was letting down our little team by not doing it so I got on my cross trainer for half hour :) Better than nothing. Tomorrow I've not got any concrete plans so I will get DD in the pram and go for a walk/run. Found lots of awesome quotes on pinterest (anyone else use that?) about goals, running, exercise last night. I can't wait to feel good running again and I thank you for helping inspire me! Two of my favourite quotes were: "No matter how slow you are going, you are still lapping everyone sitting on the couch" & "Sweat is fat crying" haha.
Hunter Mum - Great work on the treadmill! TBH, if I had to get up at 5am to do this I probably wouldn't do it either! As for the quotes - they are great! You can be our team motivator :)
Sweat is fat crying - love it!!!!
Back from day 2 - slightly harder for me than day one! I did have a 2 day gap, don't know if that makes a difference or not. Braved the leggings today - stuff it, I've seen far worse figures than mine sporting them so pffft to anyone who has an issue and I actually ran around the streets, not out where I couldn't be seen. Who knows what I look like to the passersby! I found it harder to judge how far to go for my time today though - so cool down walk was a bit longer than 5 minutes. Got a shocking pain in the tum just as I got home - thought I had burst my appendix~! Wnet to the loo and pain eventually went away - weird!!
This rain is killing me. Was supposed to be a beautiful weekend. I even got my workout gear ready to put on as soon as I woke up, planning on hitting the road as soon as DD woke. But alas, the rain and a thunder lightning storm came this morning. Lets hope it clears later on.
Well I must say, I'm proud of myself and feel so great emotionally and mentally. A break in the rain so I hit the road (I'm doing couch to 10k) started at week 2. Thought I was going to die at one point. I live in a pretty hilly area and the run interval kept hitting me going up hills... bit tougher pushing 25kg of pram and child hahaa. Got swooped by magpies, I decided to stop at 40mins because my asthma was starting to get bit much. Felt so good to make my fat cry though :p How are you lovely ladies going? What is your favourite music to walk/run to? I just got the latest David Guetta album - love it.
Well done Hunter mum! Taking on the maggies is always an extra challenge! I personally don't listen to anything, I like to hear what's going on around me (and I don't own an ipod )
Congrats Hunter Mum!!! And good on you for trying the 10K version! I don't feel up to that just yet. I'll see how I go with the 5K version first :)
AFM - I completed my third run today....so that's the end of week 1 for me. I wasn't feeling completely dead after my 20 mins so did an extra 1 min run at the end to take my running total to 9 mins (at which point I felt like I would die). I thought this would be good mentally for me as week 2 involved 9 minutes of running (at slightly longer stretches) rather than the 8 minutes in week 1....
25kg! up hill!! wow thats impressive.
My favourite music to walk to in Pitbull, lovin him at the mo, or lmao is good to get the pace up
Looking forward to my walk/ run tonight
Ausgirl I was wondering if you ended up running inside and on the mini-tramp the other day when it was raining?
welldone Huntermum... I think I will do the c210k once I have 5k's down pat :D
welldone Chody, that means you have completed week 1
Well I let the rain and a sore hamstring put me off for a few days but did it again today. This time was harder but I think it's cause I downloaded podrunner (so it was free yay!! ) and the beat of the music meant I moved quicker :D made sure I stretched today and will be doing it again on Tues.
How is everyone else going?
Kelebek - no I wussed out and just did it the next day.
I am having an issue - warning this is going to be tmi but I've got to ask if anyone's got ideas for what's going on......this happened both Friday and today - got almost all the way through, and right at the end I got an excruitating pain in my tummy, right above my pubic hair line - mainly towards the right hand side with an incredible need to poo. I did poo both times (I warned you), but the pain stayed for about 10-15 mins both times - it radiated through my right side and into my lower right hand back - sort of kidney area I guess. It made me feel so sick, vomity - nearly blackiing out, stars before my eyes, hearing went all ringy, legs all wobbly - had to lie down or I would fall down or pass out. After lying down for about 10mins, the pain went away both times. I still have a tender feeling in my lower right side now - it could possibly be O pain as I have eggwhite cm today, but didn't on Friday when I had it.
I don't know - if this happens again, I am just not going to be able to keep doing it - my breathing is fine - I am out of breath when I run and stop running, but it all slows back to normal pretty quickly once I start the walk part - actually up until run 7, today I was feeling pretty good.
Any ideas?
Ausgirl - I too have felt a bit of an urge to go to the toilet so I just looked it up and yep, exercise can make you need to go to the toilet.......it apparently has something to do with speeding up your metabolism.... I'm not sire about the pains though...you say it goes away after going....maybe it's got something to do with that???
Hi ladies can I join? I have been attempting (and have successfully done) to get back into jogging since my gp gave me a kick up the bum to get my bp down and to relieve some stress.
I have a treadmill and have been working on getting to be able to jog for 5klm straight. So far can jog for 1.5 klm in one stretch, plus I walk as well in there. I can't wait to get fitter, it's been a long couple of months to get here but already I'm loving how much energy I have!

Completed my second run for week 1 - it was really good and even though I stopped because my legs were tired my body wanted to keep going! I wasn't puffed either!! Looking forward to Wednesday!!
Ausgirl - did you get to look into what is happening to you? I used to run a bit and the same kinda thing would happen but without the pain your describing - sounds like it's definitely worth looking into.
Ausgirl :dunno: sorry I have no idea, maybe post a thread and some of the fitness fanatics bb'ers may have more of an idea.
Well done *twinkle* I think 1.5km is great.
Ash I found my 2nd session the hardest so far. I think it's a good sign you wanted to keep running and when you get fitter and stronger no doubt you will :D
AFM is it bad that I did another session today so I could eat a sausage roll? Do I really need to have a rest day? I am considering trying to do it every day or most days anyway.

Kelebek - I feel the same today, I really wanna go again but I think our muscles need a day to repair in between. But it doesn't really make sense though because they say it's ok to do weights training on your off days - so it's not really a break for your muscles, just from running lol. I might talk to someone about it at the gym and see ;) good luck if you decide to go again - I might end up joining you!!

I have finally started my first day lol. I went to the gym yesterday so done it on the treadmill. It felt really good, I think I will struggle more when I do it on the roads though lol. Ended up going 3.3k's, so I am going to have to google map & route around my house so I'm not running a million tiny laps around the hockey field close by lol. I am so very sore today, my legs & bum are killing me hahaha! Think I'll do a light session on the cross-trainer & some yoga on the wii to loosen up this afternoon when DP is on break so he can watch DS.
And good on you girls doing it two days in a row, my legs would protest so badly if I attempted that lol
Wish me luck - starting week 2 today - there are no weird tummy pains today!
Wooohoooo! No tummy pains - did have a big drink of water prior today and stopped at a fountain part way through too - so don't know if that's it? Anyway, I survived day 1 of week 2 - hurt a bit towards the end but I made it!!!!
Keep going girls, we can all do it!
:leap: yay ausgirl, I am a bit scared of week 2 - might just do another few days of week 1 I think. Didn't run today, have to take dog to vets and go to dentist... hoping to fit on a session there somewhere.

Falling off the wagon sorry ladies.
X X
Well done ladies! Good to hear all the positive stories. I went again on Monday and improved my previous run. Should have gone this afternoon but 30 hrs work in 3 days has worn me out. Have tomorrow off so will go in the morning.
Doubletrouble - what's causing you to fall? It is so hard to make time for ourselves, but I've realised of late we just need to (easier said than done!!). Hope that we can help you x
Anyone watching their diet? I've got the my fitness pal ap. Loving it.
I've been planning to start this for aaaaaaaages! The FS telling me I need to lose 15kg has jump started my motivation give this a go. I did some interval training a few years ago with a PT and loved it! The biggest thing that has been holding me back is I'm a bit embarrassed to have people see my run cause I'm not exactly a small girl and have a bad habit of worrying about what other people think of me. Might have to make tomorrow day 1, start doing instead of thinking about doing.
Welcome Miss Dee! Good luck with tomorrow. I'm sure you will feel great for starting your journey to a healthier you.
How did everyone else go today? I did my personal best as far as distance goes today. But I did sway a little from the program. I ran longer (on occasions) than I was supposed to but did miss a couple of the run intervals. It was so windy out there today, pushing the pram with the sun cover on it was not assisting haha. I have noticed that I feel less like eating bad foods when I exercise. Thinking about going again tomorrow afternoon. I need to do week 2 again before I start week 3!
Is it too late to join?
I did C25K a few months ago and got up to week 5 before life got in the way .
So I decided to start over. I did Session 1 Week 1 today and feel great!
Please keep me motivated so I can see it through till the end this time! :D
Welcome Raupe, never too late! The more the merrier :) Congrats on starting again.
I went yesterday - day 2 of week 2. It was really stormy looking when I left but I went anyway- had to cut the cool down walk short though because it was starting to blow and looking very omnious (had an inch of rain). I must admit, it does seem to be getting easier - still hurts alot, but now I am running 1.5 mins at a time, when last week 1 min seemed near impossible. It's only taking me a very short time to recover at the end so I think it is working.
Welcome to all the newbies - I can't believe how great I feel after doing it.
Awesome ausgirl. When you could have said no, you got out there and did what you could :) Lapping those that sat on the couch!
This week I have done 19.81kms since Sunday. Planning on going today but may have to hit the gym as it is rainy :( I love the mental affect running outdoors has on me. I decided yesterday morning that I would do the couch 2 5k ap. I think I just want to get to 5k then I'll tackle the 10k. more of a sense of achievement that way. So yesterday I did wk1 day 1 and it felt really good. Sometimes I get so focused that I forget I have to turn around and get home hahaa.
Thanks for this group, it has given me motivation.
Done week one day two yesterday, its been hard to find the time to go this week. It was great, although I nearly toppled over my dog who decided we were playing when I started my 2nd run haha. It felt really good, I really pushed myself with the last two run sets & felt like I was going to die lol.
I cant remember who asked about diet, but I am watching what I eat too. I ate too many carbs though yesterday, but I'm breastfeeding so I figure it'll burn out there lol. Especially after the night DS had last night >.<
Welcome to the newbies! :)
Completed week 1.2 yesterday! :cheer: Yaay!! Go me lol! :D
I got home from work 8.30pm, got into my running gear and went straight for my run! Dp was a bit concerned, because it was dark outside . Such a worry wart. (I told him he could come along, but apparently it was more important to stay home and protect the couch from intruders!). I told him I'd be back in 30 min.... only I got tragically lost (we've just moved to this area), so after I finished my run, I had to run all the way home, so I'd be home within that 30 min and SOMEONE wouldn't get worried.... Ahhh well, extra exercise for me, I guess! :D
