Should have done day 3 week 2 yesterday - really storm wild weather so I didn't. Will do it today instead.
Oh MY KNEES! I missed day 3 of week 2 so sstarted day 1 week 3 today. On friday when I went my knees were a bit sore, and over the weekend just walking was a bit sore. Today, trying to run was very painful! I don't know what to do, but I couldn't complete the full running time as it just hurt too much, they are still store now - particularly the left one which I've had pain with before (sitting cross legged with the kids mainly).
I don't know, but I'm not going to make 9 weeks of this if my knees stay the same....
It was only a 5 min run back home... and I did it in intervals ;) One minute running , one minute walking etc! Otherwise it would've taken me 15 min to get home... But I couldn't run the whole way!! :o
Ohh noo!! Go to the doctors... It could be an inflammation of the joints. I had the same in my feet last year. Or maybe something else.... Better to get it checked out before it gets worse!! Take care of yourself.
AFM did the week 1.3 run yesterday WITHOUT getting lost! I'm so talented! But I did get stitches (is that what it's called?) in my side towards the end... Maybe it could have had something to do with the fact that I've only slept 3 hours in the last 50 hours and was totally exhausted before the run...
Hmm, knees have been really painful all day - stairs are killing me, didn't even go for a walk today....I don't think I can keep this up. Might go to the doctor if it doesn't improve soon.
Good girl! :D
Now up to a 2 klm jog!! Woot woot!

well ladies i was reading this thread a couple of days ago and you inspired me to give it a go.
so.......
i just got back from my first run.....wow.... i honestly didn't think i was going to make it but i got there. i took my dog along and even he was worn out by the end.
i wonder how my body will feel tmrw.
thanks for the inspiration .... hope i can keep it up.
:hello: Welcome Lulliloo!
Ausgirl: How are your knees going?
AFM finished my first week! :cheer: Did my first run for week 2 yesterday and even had energy to run a bit more after :o.
Anyhoo, I was just wondering how everyone manages to exercise in the hot weather? I almost MELTED yesterday. I try to run after the sun has set, so I don't pass out, but I hate running in the dark, because I don't want to run into spiderwebs (or spiders for that matter) *shudder*. So how do you do it? I'd like to run early in the day, but some days I have to leave to go to work around 4.30 am when the sun isn't even up. So I try to run just after the sun has set, but before it gets dark at night . Sometimes not even that is possible, because some days I'm not home until 8.30 at night. Gaahhhh I HATE SUMMER!!
Nah, no good - I'm out which really sucks big time, so wanted to acheive this. Knees still sore, only been for tiny walks but knees are still acting up - hmmm.
Well done on starting week 2 Raupe.
Oh no! :( Poor Ausgirl. :comfort:
Hope it'll be better soon! *hugs*
going to do day 2 week 1 today. my hips still hurt from day 1 so im not looking forward to this as much. eeek... will let you know tonight how it went.
Oh no Ausgirl - that's terrible. I too have got really bad knee's this week. I'm going to go and see a physio or podiatrist about getting some orthotics for my runners. I hope you have some answers and are on the mend soon.
Lulliloo - welcome aboard! Congrats on starting, that's the hardest part!
Raupe - you superwoman, you're going amazing!
Twinkle - who are you and how did you get to 2km jog so fast hahahaa. NO on a serious note that is awesome! How long has it taken you to get there? I'm only running for about 2mins max at the moment.
AFM... I've struggled this week. My knees are giving me grief, I think this is because of my ankles. Going to try and get some orthotics done. I have one ankle that rolls in and the other rolls out (due to reconstruction of foot and ankle after car accident), so I'm a bit stuffed really. I've only done 2 half hour interval jogs. Haven't really followed the ap, just been doing it myself this week, better than nothing. Generally about 3.5-4km in that half hour. Need to go again this afternoon. DH is on night shift tonight so will go when he goes to work at 6pm. I'm a little nervous now, yesterday we had brown snake in our street that came into our yard. I've been running near bushlands so I think I will change my directions! Stick with it girl!! Thanks for the support :)
Hi girls, I'm going to join in - I'm going to start sunday.
Just reading some of your girls comments on here and just wondering if you girls are stretching afterwards - this will help with the tightness of your muscles etc
xoxox
Mine is not muscular - it's the actual kneecap or inside the kneecap - like the tendons or cartilidge or something.
oh you poor thing ausgirl
i just got back from my day 2.... not as bad as i thought
i did more stretches before and after this time... i did some last time but not as many.
definitely have the motivation to keep going.
join the crew iona.
aus girl i hope your knees feel better soon. i have arthitis so i know all about aching joints. invest in some good glucosomine(sp). i also take calcium and magnesium.
i find that has been helping me lately.
i did week 1, day 1 this morn, felt good to get into it,
Hello everyone :)
I hope you don't mind me barging in on your thread but I wanted to ask, is this program suitable for someone who has never run in her life?? I am so unfit and I desperately need to lose weight to help with IVF. Walking is not a problem. I usually walk most days for half an hour or so (not long enough, I know :( ) I just need to do something and I need some "buddies" to help with motivation.
Is c25 for me???
Thanks :)
n2l i am not a runner at all.. infact i always thought i shouldn't run coz of my arthritis.
but i have started ... it is actually not as bad as you think its going to be. i say give it a go.
 iona.
i finished week 1 yesterday... i hurt my ankle a bit though. its still quite tender this morning.
i can't even rest it today coz i have to walk about 5km today to get to and from work ... owie...
yay raupe. well done on week 2.
Oh no, Lulliloo :( you poor thing. As soon as you get home, put your feet up and give it some rest! Don't want to injure it anymore. But well done for starting!
I'm starting week 3 today... EeeeK!! I'm scared!
How's everyone else going? It's a bit quiet in here!!
i'm doing wk 1 day 2 this arvo
just did an extra day of week 1.. but i had to pull out half way coz my ankle was too sore.
oh well.. i did a lot of walking today for work so that will help me at least.
yay iona...
raupe week 3 thats great.. keep going
oh no lulliloo, hope your ankle gets better but good on you for walking heaps
i completed day 2 of week 1 this arvo woot woo, i think i may of sweated out more than usual as it was hotter here in brissie
How's your ankle Lulliloo? Ausgirl, any improvement in your condition?
Iona and Raupe, well done!
I've been struggling with a few injuries. I can't remember if I mentioned but I crushed my foot and ankle in an accident and am actually not allowed to run or jump. But I've actually hurt my good leg knee. And ankle, I think it's because compensating my bad leg.
Anyway I've been running in clapped out my old runners and finally after 10km run/walk in pain my hubby said you've proved yourself go and get the best joggers for your feet. What a difference!
So I haven't been following the program I've been doing my own thing but am certainly improving. How'd everyone else go this weekend?
I've been pulling all double shifts in the last few days and haven't seen any sunlight the whole time :(. Will continue week 3 tomorrow (uhhmmm... today Lol, it's Monday already....) I did manage to do week 3.1, so I'll only have to do two more runs to finish week 3. Ahhh, life is more exhausting than the exercise!
woohoo... just did day 1 of week 2. i did an extra week of week 1 coz i was scared of week 2.
it really wasn't that bad though. i handled it pretty well and kinda enjoyed it more.
i went to a different place to run today as i am struggling with the hill i have had to run up before. so now i run on flat ground and its heaps better.
i need to get some new shoes though. mine are very very old. went looking today but didn't really find anything that feels good.
my feet roll in heaps and are also very flat and skinny.. great combo (not)
well happy running lovely ladies.
Way to go lulliloo. I absolutely recommend good runners. Makes world of difference. I too need to find flatter area.
Enjoy 3.2 tomorrow Raupe.
I went for walk this arvo. But I can't run. I kept trying but my knees just won't allow it, the pain makes them buckle. So I've booked physio for Thursday (earliest could get in) to find out what is happening and look into orthotics. I'm enjoying running so much it really deflates me not being able to.
Well I had planned to start, but being sick kinda threw that out the window! About to join a gym, and while I plan to mainly do classes, I'm going to do c25k on the treadmill. I think I'll be less self conscious doing that for the moment cause rather than increasing my speed, I can just increase the resistance while I walk at the same pace.
Really looking forward to starting. A few years ago I was working with a PT and I did 5km alternating between running for 250m and walking for 250m straight off the bat. Was bloody hard but had that amazing tired feeling after. Can't wait to feel that again.
Hey guys, I am up to day 2 of week one tomorrow! Did day one on a whim on Sunday, really enjoyed it. I've never gotten past week 3 in the past...
Being on week 4 appletree ;) good on you for starting.
Miss Dee, it is so tough to start especially when life throws hurdles. Enjoy the happy exercise endorphins.
I'm struggling with knee so again just walked fast for almost 5km. Just to keep my routine of getting out the door.
Finished week 3!! Off to start week 4 today. I'm *really* scared!! Somebody ssaaaavvvveee meeee!!!!
yay raupe....i'm starting week 1 again, with the hrs dh has been working been hard getting out with 2 kids
i did day 3 week 2 today... im so sore though..
i got new shoes and a new sports bra. the shoes are supposed to simulate bare foot running and the guy did tell me i would be sore for about the 1st week of wearing them.
:(
great work raupe on getting to week 4..
Thanks! I did somehow manage to survive
Lulliloo, those shoes sound interesting!
Iona, as long as you keep active, that's all that matters!
Appletree, yay! You go girl! nice to see you again! ;)
Huntermum, how are you managing in week 4? Are you running again?
You are doing amazing Raupe. Congrats!
Lulliloo. Yaaay for new shoes, hope your body adjusts quickly.
I've been not doing the programs, just feels like the world is against me. Knees, ankles, chest infections do I just keep moving rather than getting hung up on not doing the program. Had physio on Thursday, got orthotics, physio said I should be swimming or cycling. Will get back on the program soon. Maybe today.
I finally started! W1D1 yesterday! Was on the treadmill at the gym and just increased the incline rather than the speed which seemed to do the job. Going to try and increase the incline more as I go so I keep pushing myself. Felt good to finally get going!
great job miss dee. it does feel good to be moving doesn't it.
i find it very therapeutic when im jogging. i dont' think about my worries or dinner or dh... nothing.
i did an extra day of week 2 today. so day 4 week 2. lol. i might start week 3 on tuesday.
my knees have been really sore. only when im jogging though. all through the fronts of them. mmmm not liking it.
i really look forward to my runs now. i like the challenge and know that i will do it.
go us!!!!!
