    Hi Doudou,

I have done it successfully. I lost about 17 kgs on it. I still had 9 kgs on post-pregnancy after my baby was about 3 months old. I lost that 9 kgs plus an extra 8kgs which i had never been able to shift. Having said that, I didn't follow the meal plans. I just adjusted my own recipes in terms of quantities, cut out carbs at night and ate low GI carbs during the day. I liked the plan because I was able to breastfeed and get enough nutrients while losing weight at the same time. I have since had a third baby and 3 months on, I am about 6 kgs over what I was before I fell pregnant. I plan to go back on the CSIRO diet. I found it easy to do. But as I said, I adjusted it to suit me and my husband who also lost weight on it. I ate fruit/light custard/light custard/homous and veges for snacks but I really felt quite full from the meals...

Good luck. Do a bit of googling and you will find there are lots of recipes online that are connected with the actual diet and you will find other low-carb recipes online too that you can use... I do remember thinking it was costly at first but you soon learn what amount you can sensibly eat. I also know that one of the later books makes suggestions for a budgeted way of doing the diet

A guy I used to work with losrt 30 kilos on it.

I remember however he complained that it was really expensive to buy all the ingredients - he floowoed it strictly, sometimes it was pushing $300 a week just for him.

i did it quite successfully (and then had another bub so all my hard work gone) - it is quite expensive to start if you follow meal plan as per book - if I do it these days I adjust the meal plans and chose dinner options that we would normally buy or used similar ingredients. I used to put up the meal plan for the day and as I had something ticked it off thus not necessarily sticking to the three meals but using the dessert fruit and dairy allowances and even some of the lunch meat as snacks throughout the day and thus over the day having the required amount of food rather than the three distinct meal times.

Basically if you can develop a meal plan that meets the daily allowances (but mix it up a bit for variety which I find is the key to keeping me happy when losing weight) you don't need to follow the meal plans as developed in the book. I do like the fact that the menu options are there though to give you different ideas on how to prepare meals with less carbs (that was our problem).

Jaspen - Lol. I undid my weight loss having another bub too. I reckon I'll lose weight again and right near my goal weight will fall pregnant. Typical.

I also agree that you just adjust it and don't need to follow menu plans slavishly. The basic plan early in the book that shows you the amount of servings you should aim for is sufficient. You don't need to use the recipes. I mayde used their recipes three times. I just adjusted what we make and cut out having rice/pasta with everything. You can do a lot of things like marinated meat and veg. Try to buy yuor meat in bulk to make it cheaper. And don't forget, that you can use canned/frozen veg as well as fresh. It is expensive at first but you do learn what amount YOU actually require. The protein portions are "up to" 100gm or 200gm. Don't forget eggs are protein as are some types of beans (alhough bear in mind at night time that beans are also carbs) so you don't have to eat stacks of meat. You can also use fish including tinned fish.

Good luck Doudou. I am about to get back on it. Would be good to have a forum to log onto and check in with others on it. Maybe we can give eachother tips and motivation.
