Today is a write off, got jack sleep as DD2 was throwing up all last night, we slept in the lounge and I was constantly waking to her crying or just to check on her.
Have my Dr's appt today though so hopefully we can discuss my weight, tiredness & a few other things, will let you know how it goes :)
I'm going to join in the million kilo challenge too, I really want to shift this weight!
Sopdet - well done hun, keep up the great work
Everyone is doing well, trying to keep motivated is such hard work.

I'm doing well with my eating. I have no choice really, no unhealthy stuff in the house and no money to go buy anything! Though I don't really feel like doing that anyway. Exercise isn't happening, but I didn't think it really would with DH away.Once he's back I will try to get back into the c25k! I haven't weighed myself recently (as in for about 2ish weeks!), I am just trying to get into eating well, and concerntrate on that, rather than my 'numbers' right now. Last time I weighed though I was 94.3kg. The most I've weighed not being pg :(
-
Dr weighed me, 96.1 :)
I had bloods done so hopefully get some answers maybe next week?

sometimes it's good to weigh yourself so you have a starting point :)
i am just so happy about being under 90. ...... 89 kg
i have set a goal of being 86 kg by end feb. thats 6 weeks. so i need to do 500g a week to get there. this is a mini goal
chat soon
-
Jbm - that is a great goal, 500g is such a good pace.
AFM still stuffing around. Am going to track my calories (for snacks) in MFP for 3 days. I don't know why I just can't get my head into it. Think I'm virtually at my starting weight 2 weeks ago even tho I dropped 1kg the first week. Arrrgh! Wonder if I need to reexamine my reasons to see why I'm self-sabotaging!
Edit - so back having a quick think over breakfast. Feel like I'm using excuses and rationalisations. Which is silly cos everyone is busy, everyone has stressors - I need to eat well despite these things. I think I'm focusing on dropping my calories as opposed to eating well. I think I still try to "treat" myself with food. Plus eating crap cos the kids were annoying will NOT make things better. My DH is largely better but over the last few days was a bit worse again and I definitely see a stress response in me, add that to toilet training DS and attempting to starting a new business (which is doing my head in - exciting but oh-so-scary too), oh and a run which overdid it slightly, so have been resting my legs this week (aarrgh annoying). So saying some of those things are really good things in my life (the business and toilet training anyway!), so it's really no excuse at all! I'm also drinking too much diet coke. I get very bloated sometimes (dietary malabsorption issue) and it makes me feel fat, so I eat fat. I'm reasonably slim now but all the remaining weight is on my waist - I'm still in the unhealthy waistline range according to heart & diabetes institute. And when you add the bloating in, I can seriously look very pregnant. Losing 2-2.5kg would actually make a big difference. I guess what I'm saying is that I think I still haven't worked out how I should eat normally to stay fit, slim & healthy - and I don't want to yoyo. I already have some clothes I bought at goal weight which just don't look so great now. If I can't stop the slide now, when can i?
So what I want to do. Drop the diet coke. Drink lots of water. Focus on selecting fresh yummy food to eat (whilst being mindful of the calorie content). Keep my exercise up. Remind myself of WHY I'm doing this (just cos I'm "nearly" there isn't good enough). Be kind to myself. Enjoy being able to use my body to exercise.
Ok I'm off now - thanks for listening to the rant. Wishing everybody a great day with yummy healthy food!

Bel I love your philosophy of not dropping calories but eating well. That is really my issue and I still need to get my head around what that means because I easily fall into the trap of eating things like raisin toast because I am starving and need to get something in my gob! I also need to realise that sometimes that is ok - just not every day! My biggest challenge back at work will be Wicked Wednesday. It really is Wicked - special morning tea put on by different teams each week - think cakes, slices, muffins, sausage rolls, dims sims -the list goes on. Am going to try and stay away from the staff room on a Wednesday morning and treat myself to ONE thing.
Anyway - am feeling better, eating ok - felt really sick after dinner last night but I think that was because it was the first full meal I had eaten in over 36 hours. Feeling much better today though so moving on.
Need to check MFP and see what day my check in is - can't remember.

Total get the want to eat healthy as opposed to counting calories. The things that have already been mentioned is what is behind why I think calorie counting does not work for me. Does my head in counting every bit of food that goes into my mouth, I much prefer the concept of "free" food, like veggie sticks, so I can eat with out guilt or concern. I think it why I like the concept of ticking off portions (like with TWD), it makes sure I get some veg, some fruit, hi fibre, protein etc
Oh no about Wicked Wednesday Tanstar. I feel for you, my last fulltime job in Melbourne was big on morning teas which were just as wicked as yours.
Belfie - good on you for being honest with yourself.
Spoke to my boss about bringing in low fat milk. I am not normally a fan of low fat dairy, but my boss makes lattes every day and I would like to continue to have them. They can be my treat on work days ;)
-
I got on my scales this morning just to have a quick look and 95.5 - 2kg down and 5.5 to go :)
Haven't been eating very well this week with sick kids but having salad for lunch today and doing some fruit shopping tomorrow... i can and will do this.. thanks so much for your help ladies, back for personals later... got to check on Miss A :(
I've also signed up for the 1 million kilo challenge :)

Well done on the losses and examining your habits girls! You can add me to the treating/stress eating as well. I have been much better with the exercise doing at least 5 x 45 min sessions a week for the last 4 weeks. I have however being eating to make up for it. So unnecessary as most of it I don't particularly enjoy that much either. So have thrown out all the snacks - bought fruit/vege/beans and tuna and am going to be honest with myself about it all. I am also going to take lunch to work so I don't have a massive sandwich out each time I am there.
Thanks for the honesty in all your posts - it has been really helpful. xxx

Oh girls, I feel as if ill never start to exercise properly. My lungs are shoddy from the op still, really wheezy and everytime I exercise I feel like I'm going to collapse.
Still recovering from my gallbladder removal. It's still owwies.
As for healthy eating, does maccas Caesar wraps countk :( don't answer that. Lol I've barely been home to be able to eat. So its been take out for me.
Failing.. stepped on the scales. I was 81 on Friday, I'm now 84 ... Doh

Oh  hun, I had my GB removed and it takes a while to recover.
Don't put too much pressure on yourself, watching what you eat will really help your recovery.
If I ate too much fatty/oily or spicy food to start with it made me feel gross, if you have to eat out (even macca's) can you choose a tick approved meal with water etc?
**ETA: You have so much else going on and I know why you would be eating out lots etc but IF you can substitute 1 meal for a slightly healthier option it will help, but the thing you need most is to be kinder to yourself **
I won't be moving off the couch today (both girls not well) so looks like left over salad for lunch and possibly sandwiches for tea. Tomorrow will be shopping if girls are ok.
Also bought rice cakes so might have gherkin dip & lettuce rice cakes.

Lysndan, please, please be kind to yourself babe. You have just had a baby, and she's still in hospital, meaning you are in and out of hospy and house all day. You probably don't have alot of opportunities to make healthy food, or even to buy healthy foods, let alone exercise!! I can't imagine how tough that would be. Plus you have not been well, aside from having just had a baby and the things that come with that. You need to give yourself a break, just take it in teeny tiny baby steps. I am 12 mths post birth. A relatively normal birth at that (aside from a small stint in the SCN for bub and me haemmorraging a little!) and I am still struggling to find my groove. I am not saying it will take you that long to get where you want to be, but it might too.
So take it slow. Be gentle. xoxo

zarava: hope the girls get better soon. x good luck. great job on the loss !!!
lysndan: try not to be so hard on yourself, it takes time. i did so many takeaways after having baby and it's just you've gotta do whats easy while you got all this other stuff going on. best of luck to you.
mak: wow your exercise has been great !!. when i went to the gym a few years ago i used to think well i have worked out so i can have that choc eclair or vanilla slice or a pack of timtams ..... LOL
it's hard but as long as you keep trying and sounds like the bringing lunch thing might help. good luck
astrid: prob a good idea the low fat option. keep up the good work
tanstar: we all do that bad eating thing when we are really hungry . it's like our bodies crave bad food... lol... but just keep trying to be good. maybe get some corn thins so you can snack on them ... it's not as bad and i actually like them.. just vegemite is easy... good luck to you
belfie: we ALL make excuses !!!. but just keep trying.. best of luck to you
AFM: well i made healthy chicken burgers with yummy salad last night !!!. i know it's amazing. i am trying to be good .
had eggs and rockmelon this morning. and went for a 20 min walk yesterday with the boys... it's a slow process but i am at least taking some steps....hopefully in the right direction

hey ladies,
thought i might join in here if that is ok to help keep me on track.
i have been struggling for a long time and have decided that enough is enough.
the last 3 weeks i have been tryin to get to the gym everyday and do atleast half and hr. i have been doing about 6 day and most days between 45 to a hr.
i have been eating alot better. i have decided that i am not cuttin anythign out completly because then that is all i crave. i have still been having a few drinks here and there but instead of having like 10 i have been having 2.
also having 1 days a week i can eat what i want withi reason.
-
Girls still not 100% so being quick, lunch today = 3x rice & corn squares with gherkin dip (thinly spread), 1 slice salami, cucumber & lettuce with some carrot sticks
I know salami is not great but honestly I would normally eat say 2 rounds of sandwiches with butter and layered with salami and gherkins etc.
This arvo I will have a banana or celery & tonight is grilled lamb chops, tossed salad & Caesar salad for DP.

Blow out last night, will probably blow out tonight with friends coming for a bbq and no exercise as my pram has a mega blow out-ed tyre  No loss for me this week but no gain either so meh. Will just keep plodding on.
Totally OT but man I have THE worst headache today - was feeling great this morning, anxiety has been good the last 2 days but the kids were FERAL at the shops and I think the stress of that and getting the house cleaned today have given me headache from hell. Need to drink more water I think and have a wee lie down before tackling the rest of this hovel.
-
Blow out last night as well. Just over it after a hard day at work, so we got KFC for dinner. Oh well, have to own that one!
Bit better today. Was out a lot, went for Subway for lunch. Sausages and salad for dinner, was good and went for 1&1/2 sausages, rather than my usual 2+.
Still have not worked out an exercise plan. I have vowed though, that there is no sitting down till the girls are in bed. I am to keep moving, doing stuff around the house. This is twofold: keeping the house organised and running with me working more this year, and of course moving around will expend more energy than sitting. I can get a bit of a puff up running around tidying, sweeping, lugging washing etc.

I've had a terrible day today. I don't think I eaten one peice of fruit or any veggies! (Well, maybe I have...but definately not enough!) I am tired as tired gets and after a pretty tough week or two, I am really feeling it today. DH was away for 4 days this week, as well as only having had 2 days off in 12 and working a tonne of overtime. I just totally CBF'd to do anything today, particularly cook and worry about healthy food or exercise. Not to mention we haven't been grocery shopping in over 2wks so we have barely any food in the house. I will be doing groceries tomorrow and I will be weighing and measuring myself properly, as well as working out my eating and exercise for the next 2 wks. Hopefully having a bit of a plan will help me get into a good groove. I am also going to be trying to slowly cut out alot of the processed stuff we have gotten into the habbit of buying since DS2 was born and eating ourselves and feeding to the kids. And to meal plan, but this is all a work in process! A good night sleep should help too, which I will hopefully get tonight, or if not, I will get a sleep in tomorrow morning, and maybe even a nanna nap!
So happy Friday all, I hope you all have wonderful weekends!
