drank heaps of water, went for a long walk along the beach (complete with deadly stairs at both ends), ate reasonably healthy (as long as you don't look at the vegemite toast I just had for dinner). Feeling exhausted but ok. Have fruit all ready for a smoothie in the morning for breakfast.

Ok ladies, just trying to think ahead for shopping and meal planning tomorrow, and I thought it might help if I had some healthy food/meal ideas to run with!
So hit me with your favourite breaky/lunch/dinner and snack ideas. Maybe even some healthy dessert recipes? I have hit a wall in particular with breaky and lunch. I'm not too big a fan of sandwiches (if someone made one for me every day I would eat it, but I just don't like making them myself!) and I'm not a huge fan of cerials in summer, though if I find one I really like I will eat it but I do love my porridge and warm vitabrits in winter!

I just joined the million kg challenge on fb with FCS. Need to commit to this if I am to keep losing weight and get some motivation. Had a shocking 2 days. :(
Sopdet - Sounds perfect hun - I really need to up my water intake and cut out the Diet Coke. :O
3LM - Here are my go to's list isn't very long sorry - I need help with breakky and lunch too! Eggs - if I have them on toast I try to cut carbs the rest of the day, omelette with a bit of lean bacon/ham/salmon, tomatoes, and light cheese - this is also a staple lunch. Smoothies, cereal - Just Right but I think there are better ones out there, if you like porridge just make that! I give it to the kids year round! Lunch is tricky for me too - I like bread and sandwiches so tend to have them but what about wraps??
Salads - I am going to start playing around with salads to take to work, I have a recipe for a pumpkin and feta one that is yummo and made a yummy moroccan chick pea one the other day too. I would have something like that with some ham on the side. Dinners here are pretty simple most of the time. DH and I will have steamed veggies and meat (salmon, steak, lamb or chicken) and the kids have pasta or rice on the side as well. Im trying to remember healthy protein with each meal with "living' stuff on the side like a salad or veggies. I have a pin on pinterest that is a healthy eating plate. 1/4 healthy protein, 1/4 whole grains, more than a 1/4 of a plate of vegetables and a small portion of fruit each day. It's a great - my name is Tan Star if you are on there and want to add it - or else search for healthy Eating and it should come up.
Not sure if that all helps - we can do it hun, I am in the same boat and a lot of my cooking and food I turn to isn't the best health wise. Oh nuts are great too for a snack and healthy too.
Ok I am off to make a smoothie! Mmmmm hope you all have a great day!!!

Hi guys
Has anyone read "Sweet Poison" by David Gillespie? Not sure if I should buy that book first or just buy the "Sweet Poison Quit Plan" ..... I badly need to stop eating sugar and lose some serious Kg's :(
-
I haven't read it hun but I did get a little ebook by Sarah Wilson a while back because I was going to cut sugar too - I just can't fully cut it out though but that is just me. There is a thread on BB somewhere too about the book. Also check out Marks Daily Apple on FB and his website. It's a primal living website, but lots of sugar free ideas and recipes. xoxox

-
Went to a BBQ yesterday, filled up on salad then had 1 sausage & small thin BBQ steak then took MIL for tea had warm chicken salad then pancakes & ice-cream. Shhh
Today special K for breaky, rice cakes with dip for lunch, a banana this arvo then tonight is cold meat & salad.
Not too bad for the w/end :)
Sent from my iPhone, more than likely while I should be doing something else!

Good stuff ladies!!!! All this hard work will pay off!
I had a mix of stuff today - nothing all that terrible but little bits of naughty  SOOOO I just went for a 4km walk. In 32 degree heat. I seriously look like a tomato - normally would have done my C25K but there was NO way I was running - DH goes, are you ok? Have you seen your face? IM worried? when I got back  Off to the beach now and going to have a healthy dinner!!! Makes me appreciate these tennis players!

been so good all last week then just ruin it on the weekend. I really need to follow through on the weekends.
got up thing mornign went to the gym. i hurt my knee last night so took it easy this morning. it was feeling good when i got home then i cleaned up the lounge room and was crawling around to pick up toys and BANG it hurt again. so laying here on the lounge with ice at the mo.
it does this when i need to loose weight so i just have to push through.
when i kneel on it i get this sharp pain and in some cases it feels liek the knee cap locks up and i find it hard to stand or straighten my leg out.
i have join the 1mil kg challange. i have my own little team and i have pledged 8kgs thought it would be achieveable.
-
 Sassy - might pay to get your knee looked at hun - you might need to strap it or brace it while exercising and you don't want to let it get worse so you can't exercise at all? I am the same with carrying extra weight - man can I feel it when I am running. :( Both knees take a pounding and makes me realise how this extra weight is affecting lots of aspects of my life especially if I don't get it under control.
Well we went to the beach last night - and had KFC for dinner  Seriously this is what happens when we don't preplan what we are doing and are caught out at 6:30 and all starving - so frustrated I didn't just eat a wrap and no chips but today IS a new day. I am banning junk food for 3 months. Now that DH is back at work and holidays are over it should be easier to do. Can't wait for 1 million kgs to go live on Thursday I am thinking I am going to be super strict with the meal planning and snacks etc and told DH I was going to do it and will work the recipes to suit the kids and DH who is eating no carbs right now (Great - 3 different diets  ) I will drink heaps of water today too - really really need to up my intake.
Ok off to MG - 34 here today so will be doing my ripped in 30 dvd inside with a/c while kids sleep!
-
Tanstar hun today is a new day and you know what 1 night of KFC wont kill you, your in the right frame of mind at home so don't feel bad about 1 slip up.
Last night we had salad & cold meat for dinner, i eat more salad than meat and didn't snack after dinner
Not sure about dinner tonight, we MIGHT be going to DP's cousins for a swim and dinner for her DS's birthday which could even involve pizza but you know what, i don't mind i will stop myself at 2 slices and be done.. happy knowing i could have eaten a half a pizza or more and i didn't ;)
If not then i might make some rice with broccoline, zucchini, capsicum, peas, corn & carrots then do some chicken breast or something :)
It's going to be warm here today so giving the girls a play outside soon then inside to do some housework (as vigorously as i can) and then relax.

I think that is important not to beat yourself up if you have a blow out/'bad' meal as that tends to make me give up. Not to the extent of enabling the less healthy habits but to acknowledge why it happens and remember that if you do that occasionally you are more likely to stick to your overall plan ITMS.
So trying really hard to meal plan and shop accordingly.
3LM - I have bought a few bags of pre cut salads for lunch - coleslaw and green. My plan is to have them with tuna and chicken on 3 of the days this week. The chicken I will cook with dinner the night before. Other than that lunch is also soup, omelette/scrambled egg, beans/sardines on toast. Dinners are meat and vege/salad for all of us, souvlaki, fahitas, chicken skewers, salmon baked and spag bol. I adjust the carb content for each person so will have one wrap/small serve of pasta or none with the other ingredients whereas DH and the kids will have some bread or potato depending on the meal. Trying hard to make a concious effort with not focussing on the food too much, trying to shut off that switch I guess. I also have bought the WW's pots of fruit as snacks, ridiculously expensive but an easy go to at work, where I tend to eat nothign much until lunch and am then ravenous at the end of the day.
Not much help with breaky - I have either porridge or Vitabrits most mornings. Perhaps you could try avocado on toast/eggs as an option? Or some yoghurt with fruit?
Keep at it! We are off to spend the morning at the pool - we were all exhausted afterwards last time so must be some exercise value in it. I braved my bathers in public and realised how much I have missed out on by hiding with my extra kgs. So this is it.
ETA - ZF - love your post, couldn't agree more!

Hi girls :hello: can I jump in here? I was looking at that 1 million Kg thread but it looks like most girls on there are doing that with FCS. So I might post in here to keep me motivated :D I've got a pretty long road ahead of me. Whist I've had success in the past this weight hasn't budged for 12 months now. I still have 7 kg's of baby weight to loose plus I'd like to loose another 6 so that's 13 all up. I am concentrating more so on my % body fat and will get down to about 20%. I've given myself to Sep this year so I should have plenty of time to reach my goal. Exercise wise I'm also taking it slowly. I have got lots of physio to do yet to get my knee strong after an operation in November. I'm only just starting to take baby steps without walking crutches :hooray: I'm going to start some upper body weights in my home gym and some core strength pilates moves and do some slow walking on the treadmill when my knee allows it. So I'll need to concentrate on diet more than anything. I am starting to introduce the GAPS diet which I'm doing to cure eczema and it just happens to be low carb so that should help move the weight anyway. I guess my ultimate goal is to be strong and have muscles and reduce my body fat and as a result I will be loosing weight too. Today is my starting day and I'm in good spirits. Not sure how I'll be feeling by the end of the day though? I am seeing the physio today and I haven't done the exercises that he asked as I was too sore.... I think he'll give me a hard time :( The last few months have been really depressing and need to get out of this rut!!! It's now or never!

Well ladies, I've lost 5 kilos in 2 days... I'm just running around like a mad idiot right now and barely eating... But I've been drinking a tonne of water and an Apple or Orange juice every day. I know its not the ideal thing to do but there are just not enough hours in the day.
How is everyone else going ?
Sent on the move with Tapatalk.

Lysndan - hun everything must be so full on right now, i know it's hard but PLEASE take care of yourself and remember that 5kg is more than likely going to pop back on when you do start eating properly again (not in a bad way) so if you can just slowly increase what & how you eat until your back to a normal diet.
I hope your ghoing ok though hun and getting some YOU time to relax somewhere in the day, even if it is just 5-10min to give yourself a break.
Welcome Cherished1 - of course you can join in, everyone is very helpful and supportive.
Girls i need some ideas for breakfast, i don't eat eggs and basically have either cereal or toast - any other suggestions at all, i'm not a fan of porridge - love fresh fruit.
-
Thanks for the welcome ZF :D Smoothies and fresh juices are great for breakfast, you can pack them full of so many nutrients and you get all the good stuff in a drink, especially great if you are on the go. I'll be having eggs and 1 slice sprouted grain bread for my breakfast as of tomorrow :) Plus my meat stock soupy thing or stew when I make it :) Even mashed up banana and avo is yummy with some puffed amaranth or millet mixed in with it and some LSA, you could have a blob of that on the side with some pancakes.

Ok so we ARE going to DP's cousins tonight BUT i will be good, will have a beer or wine (yum) and limit any YUCKY foods that are there, if we have Pizza I WILL STOP AT 2 SLICES if we have BBQ I WILL FILL UP ON SALADS, LIMIT BREAD & LIMIT OILY MEAT!
We will be taking the girls swimming so i will get plenty of exercise swimming them to the middle of the dam and then back again, great for my leg muscles and if i have the energy will leave the girls with DP and see if i can swim a lap of the damn freestyle... eeek!
I can still enjoy the finer things in life, i just need to balance it out over the rest of the day - rice cakes with salad for lunch and a banana before we leave.
