hi everyone
Emmy, how are you feeling lovely  its so nice to see you committing to weight loss with everything that's going on... I know I found it a life saver to keep my focus on something positive ;) You're welcome to seal my mind mapping lol... basically I started with "healthy body" as my main topic than you just write down stuff from there and figure out where your challenges are, whats working, what isn't, what's important etc... MY biggest things were mental health ie all the things which I am sabotaging myself with and why etc... and you all know I struggle to know 'which method is the best' and I end up starting and not finishing! :wall:... I will still keep everyone posted with the outcome and my battle plan when I finish it over the next few days :)
Re the weight loss, I am happy to report that I have done the reversal eating properly since Monday and have lost 700grams YAY so with 3 more days to go I am looking forward to loosing even more and weigh in on Monday
gotta run I'm late for work :o
Cherished thanks for thinking of me. I am trying to look at the bigger picture which can be hard sometimes.
Going to be so busy today cleaning and stuff so at least it will get my mind of my stomach and get me off this computer. If I could throw it away I am sure my weight would just fall off. I spend way too much time on it.
Not much to report. Another day of WW. Pigged out at dinner time like usual and hoping it hasn't made me gain weight then I ate two cream biscuits. Luckily there is only one left so the worst I can do with the cookie jar is eat the last one. DH commented on how well my diet was going when I was eating ice cream at 3pm till I had to shove it in his face it was a WW one.
Em :( if makes you feel like crap when dh's make us accountable doesn't it! my dh is always really lovely about it and speaks so nicely as a gentle reminder when I fall off the wagon but I still get annoyed about it... If he was nasty (like it sounds like your dh was being) I would just go off the wall at him lol... Or take delight in rubbing it in that it's 'weight waters' icecream  have fun cleaning!
ohhh I forgot to mention my yummo smoothie this morning! I added chocolate powder to my banana smoothie and it was so chocolaty, creamy and thick YUMMMO... Can I just say again how happy I am that the scales are slidng back the other way again!
Snuck on the scales this morning and ive gained...:wall: all i can put it down to is the chips! No more chips!!
a key is not to pig out at dinner time try to make your biggest meal of the day lunch if possible and have a lightish dinner rember dont eat after dinner as what you eat after dinner just get added to the scales iynwim btw i am no expert not by a long shot just offering what has been helping me i am real keen to see each and everyone of you reach your goals.
Ammaki - it could be some fluid retention from the salt on the chips last night.
Ali - good on you for getting back on the wagon. Sometimes you need a gain to kick you out of complacency - and it was only 300g so not a big one.
Em - DP put my WW icecream in the fridge as he thought it was mousse  so he ruined them. I went off at him! He won't be making that mistake again and he now knows EXACTLY what a WW icecream looks like so he can't make any comments :D
AFM - I have been doing pretty well this week but the creche is shut at the gym next week so I won't be able to go - or I will have to go in the evenings which I hate :(
Ammaki- see how you go in a few days if its fluid retention. How often do you weigh yourself? We have scales at home but I dont get on them as your weight can fluctuate throughout the week. Hope you are having a good day
Nai- Bummer about the creche. DO you do spin classes at the gym? When I was at my peak fitness and body condition I was doing spin classes 5 times a week and loving it. The best ever workout! I cant go to the gym anymore as I dont trust myself with a membership. I have wasted so much money over the years on not attending.
Mr S- I just want to say again how well you are doing. It must be such good motivation seeing the kilos fall off you to keep on going.
Emmy- My DP is full of negativity sometimes. He seems to think if I work my arse off doing 10Km a day on the treadmill and watch my diet than I should be able to shed weight so easily. It all sounds easy to him but I just cant do that. Annoys the crap out of me that he absolutely struggles to keep on weight. I love the WW icecream, the vanila bean and the rich choc are my favs.
Cherished- thats great the reversal eatign is working. Keep it up hun!
AFM- have been tracking the last 2 days and exercising again on the treadmill. I woke up this mornign though and just walking to the bathroom was killing my feet. ouch! I am so craving something bad right now though! :(
I haven't exercised since Monday
I wanted to run today but there were workmen in my street LOL. I had a kick boxing workout I'd taped off foxtel so thought I'd try that. Crazy stuff!! I was red, panting and sweatting by the end of it lol. Definitey saving that one!
Thanks Ali & Nai ... i hope so!!
Having a good one so far Ali, only used 9 points so far and brekky and lunch are down!! Been sticking with fruits and WW meals. How about you? Im meant to weigh weekly but i cant resist jumping on the scales considering i see them first thing every morning hahaha
T4M what channel was the work out on? I have Austar are the channels the same? Ive found a few work outs on there, havent tried any yet tho, theyre called All about fitness, and crunch
Mr S youre on fire! 10.5kg in 3 weeks, thats so awesome! Keep the advice coming too! Lol every bit counts right!
hi girls
looks like i might have to get some of these ww ice creams. they sound yummy!
i haven't had too bad a day- pigged out before on ricve crackers and tzaiki dip- which isn't great, but better than what i would've pigged out on last week iykwim?
i'm looking forward to weighing in on sunday. even though i've been eating a lot, i still think i will have lost something. i'm aiming for about 0.5kg a week. what about you guys?
Hey Mr Squid... That is kinda the theory behind reversal eating... Breakfast is the biggest meal than a big lunch and only a small dinner (300cals) 4 hours before bed, which is working for me... so far :p
Alibaby hope you're wearing good shoes on the treadmill... It make a huge difference, I'm so in love with my runners I find it so hard to walk around all day with pretty fashion sandles/thongs on iykwim! I have just bought some thongs from the athletes foot with support in them so that I can get out of my runners this summer
Amy, hearing your chip story makes me happy that I didn't eat the salt and vinegar chips that were in the fridge last night... I guess I can be proud that they are my fav and I still didn't eat them.... mind you I thought that they would still be there at lunch time today and I was gonna have some but dh had eaten them all!
AFM another good day eating here, all good food, no junk and I 'might' even walk on the treadmill....... looking forward to getting in the scales tomorrow!
Ammaki, it is an All Star Workout, I think on the Discovery Health channel at 9:30 am - same time as Crunch. They have different ones every day, bit of pot luck with what you get.
Good luck to all weighing in tomorrow! I weighed in today and lost 200g. Happy with that!
GINGER _ The WW icecreams are really yummy & they are pretty good in points as well, definitely get some! I love the chocolate sundaes. I also love the WW Belgian Eclairs, they are sooooo delish!!!
TIME4MYSELF _ WTG on the weigh in! A loss is a loss is a loss!
AMMAKI _ I love how you have to keep checking your progress! I'm just bout to e-mail you the pics.
MR SQUIDIPA _ I was just going ot post what you said! I have noticed a pattern in my WW log that tells I eat the majority of my points over breakfast & lunch & then a small points valued dinner. I am liking how I did this without even thinking!
NAI _ It could be lots of things darl, don't beat yourself up, just correct it from now.
I have had an ok day, but a day where I'm continually thinking of what I can put in my mouth for some reason. Today has been the first day when I have really found myself hungry & wanting to eat everything. I have just logged all my points in & I have 1 spare one, so that isn't enough to go stupid on, so I figure it's not worth it. I'm just looking forward to a nice cuppa at the end of a very loooooooong week!
xx
Oh my goodness... I just discovered skinny cow icecreams... 80 calories, no added sugar, 98% fat free. But somehow, amazingly, still actually manages to taste like real icecream and real chocolate!
Anyone have ideas on where I might be able to weigh myself tomorrow if we can't find the scales?
BW
BW- You could just go into target, they sell scales and you could just get some out of the box and have a go! LOL! Good luck.
BW - I always see those scales in the public bathrooms at Westfield type shopping centres or chemists where you put $1 in and weighs you, and think to myself "who on earth is weighing themselves here?!" . . just think - that could be you!!!
BW, do pharmacies still have scales for public use? I guess all the ones doing kate morgan or similar will have them.
I like the sound of the skinny cows! I'm trying not to buy a lot of the ww desserts as I find if I have them I eat them when I probably wouldnt have looked for them if they werent in the house. KWIM? I end up eating more if they are there cause "they're healthier" Plus they do seem to all have artificial sweetners.
Time, 200g is good. I reckon as long as the scale is going down anything is fantastic! Especially if you dont have a lot to lose anyway, as it comes off a bit slower.
Ginger, I lost 500g two weeks in a row so I guess I'm aiming to match that or more each time
I've done ok today. I have 2.5points left plus I earned an extra 2 from walking so I can still have something.... what though? Hmmm so many naughty options :)
I don't think I've seen one of those things for ages, Sas! Gawd, I don't think I could do it publicly, it was hard enough last week popping on the scales at DH's work with DH watching!
BW
BW do any of your friends have their scales out in their bathrooms? You could "pop into the bathroom for a moment" LOL.
Sazza I saw Skinny Cow icecreams yesterday at Woolies. I went with the WW tubs though - because there are only 2 in a pack... for the same reason as you LOL.
Jayne did you have a quiet day yesterday? I find that when I have nothing to actually do, that's when I start thinking about food. Seems you still did well though to come in under your points! WTG.
Cherished I didn't know you could buy thongs with support! I might check them out for my dh. Oh, are there mens ones as well as womens?
I was happy with my 200g yesterday as I didn't really exercise much last week. My goal is 15, and I've lost 6 so I figure it's going to start to slow now anyway. One more kg and I'm back to where I was this time last year - that's my mini goal.
Hi everyone hoping you all have a great start to the weekend. I have a party today. Not sure how I will go trying to avoid bad food when all my fav salads will be there (potato bake, wombok, creamy pasta etc =yum) going to be hard. And its at night so I can go for a walk afterwards unless its laps around the lounge room.
I tried one of those scales in westfield and it took my money and didn't even work. So I was one of those ladies lol
AliBaby I have also being one of those ladies who have weighed herself on a new pair in the shop with no intention of buying them. I do however own some now.
BW the skinny cow icecreams sound yum. Might have to try them.
Hi guys,. Hope everyone is having a happy healthy weekend! My week seems to be going well. I actually haven't tracked my calories the last couple of days because I know I am way under and don't want to see a whole heaps of calories I 'need' to eat IYKWIM. But I will track today as don't want to get out of the habit. I was hoping for a 500g loss this week when I weigh on Tuesday but I have upped it to 1kg. Here's hoping I hit it!
LOL! I weigh on my wombat scales at work and the other day I went in and got them all set up and everyone gathered round thinking I was going to weigh the wombats. I had to tell them to bugger off so I could weigh myself!:
I don't think I've seen one of those things for ages, Sas! Gawd, I don't think I could do it publicly, it was hard enough last week popping on the scales at DH's work with DH watching!
Anyway my goal this week is to learn how to make sushi at home. And get my eyebrows plucked and lashes tinted. My excuse is that I can't pluck them myself with a broken thumb. Looking forward to some pampering though.
Anyway see you all in the next couple of days. :)
Hey guys, Will try and become a regular poster again.... and i think this is the thread for me!
I have now finished having babies so I am on the hunt to lose 20kg to start with...but 30 would be awesome. Although according to BMI and my short height, my "ideal' weight is about 50kg less than what I am now! How scary is that.
I have joined the gym and have been every day for the past 5 days and although my legs are KILLING me, i actually enjoy the solo time there.
Would love some hints and tips regarding eating aspect rather than just the exercise and I am about to take note of all my body measurements too
hello weight loss buddies!!
how are we all going today? i'm finding myself super hungry atm, i think sleep deprivation is to blame LOL
my weigh in is tomorrow and i'm s8hitting myself!!!
do you guys find that having a weight loss ticker helps to motivate you? i'm thinking of getting one for myself.
welcome to danni
krys- i got my eyebrows waxed on thursday and i feel like a million bucks!
jayne- tell me more about these belgian eclairs LOL are they in the cake section of supermarket?
Well, you could knock me down with a feather today!
While out shopping I did see one of these scales in the ladies toilets - but my wallet was in the pram outside with DH and there was a queue six deep so that wasn't going to happen.
DH did dig out the scales from the garage this evening, though. He says they lie - they measure way too high (he's not liking being 108kg!). I jump on and immediately tell him they lie as they read too low! 70.5kg! Bring on the sixes real soon!
BW
feeling alot stronger today my energy levels are on the rise i am finding i can push myself more and i can even start to run around with the kids now
Go BW!! That's the kind of suprise you want to see when you look down at the scales! It's a shame you didn't weight yourself in the public toilet though - what, wearing shoes, probably jeans or other heavy clothes, and a interested array of onlookers - I'm sure it would have been a fabulous experience
Mr Squidipa - Great to hear about such a noticeable result in your health! I sometimes forget about anything but the numbers (shallow ) but overall it is those things that are the real reasons for getting thin and healthy isn't it.
Hi there everyone,
I'm just wondering if it's ok to join your support group?
I'm only on day 3 of my diet - I'm trying the Belly Fat diet - and so far it's going ok (although dh left an opened can of coke in the fridge , and i just had to have some. I took 2 sips though and tipped it down the sink )
BW - I got some scales out of the cupboard a couple of months ago and weighed myself on the carpet. I got the shock of my life when the scales said I was 15kg over what i thought i was, and I didn't tell my dh because i was so embarrassed. I eventually told him, and he told me to weigh myself again on the tiles. I then did a happy dance and went and pigged out!!!
Anyway, looking forward to sharing the journey with you all (and getting to know you a bit better)
LOL I always think that too! hehhehe
:welcome: Danni & JaJa, well done tipping that coke down the sink  I'm not into the fizzy drinks but I used to think when I did drink them when I was out in a bar in my younger days that each can was like eating 6 teaspoons of sugar and it limited my alcohol consumption too ;)
BW YAY for 6's you will see one really soon... I am still on the wagon to get back down to 6's myself.. woooohooo "we can do it" :cheer:
T4M yeah the thongs are great! they did have mens ones which were brown and the womans are an olive colour so pretty neutral to go with anything... I've told dh he need to get some of them because he also lives in runners in summer and it'll be nice to let his feet get some air of a hot day :D
AFM no change on the scales yesterday and today which is disappointing but I am still sitting on a 700gram loss this week, hopefully tomorrow there will be even more of a loss :)
hi there everyone
jaz- nice to see a familiar face in here :)
bw- i'm so jealous of you nearly being in the 6's!!! well done girl, that's fantastic
mr squid- wow how awesome you feel like running around with the kids, you must feel fantastic.
weigh in for me tonight, wish me luck!
Welcome, Jaz.
Sas, I still weighed myself clothed last night. I really don't think it will be long before I see a 6... it's been a big motivation for me, especially as I'm starting to find my willpower is weakening. There was a fundraiser at church today where the little kids were selling all these delicious looking cakes... I resisted! I'm so proud of myself, but I'm consuming a bottle of coke zero right now so I can still get my sweetness hit. I finally remembered to take a bottle of water to church with me, and a special K bar... BBQ steak and salad for lunch (no bread for me), so I've been especially good today.
Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend and taking advantage of the beautiful sunshine to get out and exercise (or at least just spend some time with their family). I have to go tutor. :(
BW
BW _ That is just a brilliant effort my friend! Stop being so mean to yourself! You are only 600g from seeing a 6 as the first number! It's time to start realising you ARE doing this!!!!
TIME4MYSELF _ Yes totally! If I am not kept busy, I keep thinking of food! I also haven't done much exercise this week as I have been too occupied playing with Banjo so I really am not looking for a big loss tomorrow on the scales. I'm really going to have to put some more effort into the exercise next week. Also, I haven't been drinking the water as much so of course I have been feeling more hungry. Grrr
MR SQUIDIPA _ That's a fantastic results to see how far you have come to notice you are more energetic with the kids! WTG!
GINGER _ The eclairs are actually in the icecream aisle. In our supermarket they are near the puddings & things. They are really really yummy & I will grab a box to take to friends places so I can indulge in something naughty that won't damage my points too much.
CHERISHED _ I don't like fizzy drinks either, I hate the way it makes my teeth feel afterwards? Abotu the only fizzy drink I will have is Lemonade & I only buy that on the rare occassion. Although, be careful because a lot of the juices are just as bad. I find just sticking to water & a cup of tea works for me. I don't want to spend all my points on drinks!
JAZ _ Welcome!
DANNI _ We have a similar amount of weight to lose. I am hoping to lose 25kg all in total, it's nice to hear somebody with the same amount to lose.
I'm sorry if I have missed anybody, I have to get my girls ready for a birthday party, I'm going to have lunch before i go to stop myself pigging out on party food. It's my weigh day tomorrow so I have already had a talk to myself about how stupid it would be to muck up weigh day for 2 hours at a party. LOL
Wish me luck!
Jayne
Hi gang and welcome to the new people!
Sorry I can't manage much in the way of personals today... Dh and DD have gastro so I am very tired and must hang out MORE washing while she is asleep! We went to chinese last night and I was super organised and planned what I was going to eat beforehand, using my WW eatingout guide. I'm glad I did cause I could relax and enjoy my choices knowing I had enough points. Plus I was very proud to order chinese tea instead of dessert when everyone else had something. I didnt even feel ripped off :D
Had a smallish walk today but am eating well. Not sure about tea: might be the only on in the house eating!
Be good people and good luck to those weighing tomorrow
Sazz, I hear the gastro diet is really effective! :p In all seriousness, I do hope you manage to stay well and that DH and DD are well very soon. It's so not fun to deal with.
Jayne, I guess you are right... I think I'm just a little stunned at how quickly things are moving, and it's encouraging, but also a little scary. Scary because I'm moving out of my comfort zone. Scary because it's all too easy to start relaxing and sneaking in a few naughty bits and pieces here and there... I'm hoping DH will join me soon and it should become easier then. Meanwhile, I'm encouraging eating at home as often as possible as then I don't have to watch him eat chips or something like that... Stir fries are becoming a staple dinner here - just meat and veg with a sauce - seriously low on carbs and really quick to prepare.
When it comes to drinks... you'd be surprised how quickly the calories can add up as soon as you start having juice, mineral water or soft drink. I'm like Jayne in that I have a cup of tea in the morning and then stick to water. I aim to get through 2L per day, but usually fall short at about the 1.5L mark. Getting the extra water in really makes a difference in terms of weight loss, though! I do treat myself to a coke zero some days - for the caffeine hit and it usually meets the sweet cravings without me hitting the carbs. But water really is your friend when it comes to weight loss, I have found.
BW
Hi everybody
Are most of you doing the WW's point system? I've done that once before and found it to be really effective. This time I'm trying something different, but if it doesn't work out I'll probably do WW's again.
jaz- i'm not doing any particular diet, i'm basically just eating really healthy and cutting out all the junk :) if i don't get results over the next month, then i'm going to join ww.
im the same as ginger!
Got my gym incentive card stamped for the 5th time today in 4 days! I cant believe I am still going. I really am gunna do this
I'm not doing WW - I record what I eat in a website called calorie king. It's basically a food diary. I have limits for calories, fats, carbohydrates and protein and try to stick within them. The limits were set out for me by my FS a few years back and it's a program that works for me.
BW
bw - I've been recording my food intake on Calorie King as well. I love it! I got a lovely suprise when i added gardening and housework for my exercise for the day. It reduced my calorie intake by half! Are you then supposed to eat more to take you up to the Calories you're supposed to consume? I noticed that I didn't get a green tick when that happened.
Danni - that's excellent!
Ginger - I'd say you should do well just following that plan - especially as you'd be getting lots of excercise chasing after L . (i'm exhausted at the end of the day just from chasing Hannah around!!)
Jaz, I think you are supposed to eat a bit more to make up for exercise. I've noticed that you only get a green tick if you stay within a certain amount of the suggest calorie total. I can't do it. I just can't physically eat that much! I've also noticed that it doesn't change the nutrient levels down the bottom and it really distresses me if I exceed the carb limit so I don't worry too much about the overall calories... I just make sure that I eat stuff to fit within the limits and don't starve myself. If I'm hungry, I eat.
BW
