Just checking in today... I need some butt-kicking or something. I feel like I've lost all motivation and just crave junk... Having a bad arthritis flare today as well. Hopefully now that the front has passed, things will be more settled tomorrow. Despite being in agony at the moment, I'm still really determined to get off the prednisone. That's about the only thing I'm determined to do, though!
I guess I need someone to notice that I've lost weight, or a favourite old pair of jeans to suddenly fit again... and neither are going to happen as the moon-face and pred-gut will be the last things to go, and they are what people notice first when they see me. Would help a heap if DH would join me and be a bit encouraging and supportive, but he's being a bit of a useless lump at the moment.
*sigh*
On a positive note - my two days of throwing caution to the wind and eating what I want haven't resulted in a carb or calorie blow out - so habits must be settling in to place at least!

Just quickly.... i'm a bit embarrassed to say I GAINED 400g this week.
I was expecting to maybe gain a little I s'pose as I've been a bit naughty in the snack department.
I did play 2 huge games of squash after my weigh though so I bet I've almost made up for it already!
Ok that's just hte motivation I needed to get my but back into gear and get serious again.
13weeks till christmas and I want to be at least a size smaller by then!
-
13 weeks till xmas arrggg!!!! i better get myself moving, i'd love to be at goal weight for xmas.
hope you all have a good day today
-
JaZa & Sas, I also think about how much a kg weight, when I do weights I think that even 1 kg is heavy enough to feel the difference! On Monday I was carrying a big bag of mulch and wondered how much it weight because it was heavy... sometimes I even go into the gym and pick up 10kg and it's a strain and I think that I need to loose that much and more;)
Belfie you hot mumma bet you loot amazing in your jeans <insert wolf whistle here>
Saz no need for emabarasement, I got on th scales today and I have put my whole 800gram loss back on in 2 days!!!! I haven't been reversal eating because we have family visitng from Vic and we've been out for dinner each night and having a pretty decent lunch too  I am pretty dissappointed but hopefully will get it all back off again by next Monday!
Mr Squidipa 11cm whoohooo, well done
And Krys you are so inspiring honey, you are well and truely in the 60's now

OK, so my reward, despite being waaaaaay too broke to afford it... New pair of ski pants! I just have to decide exactly what my goal weight is. Timeline will be before Christmas, when we leave for our Japan ski and shenanigans holiday.
When I bought my current ski pants, I weighted about 86kg. I'm now 68 - so I have to wear them with the braces just so they'll stay on! I reckon I'll be able to justify a new pair. But at what weight? Maybe 64kg?
This time last year, I set a 5kg weight loss goal before we started TTC. I got it, we started, and then I hit my long-time goal of 69kg the day we got our BFP. So I'm happy with where I am but know I can go further. So, what do we say, ladies and gent? What's your opinion?
-
butterfly_worrior sending you a but kicking as you requested;)
ginger come on you now you can do it
sazz come on you can do it
-
SAZZ _ Don't worry, I gained 500g this week & I cried. I even turned the scales on & off again to check battery wasn't playing up. I am/was gutted. However, this week will get the 500g & hopefully a smidge more off.
Sorry I haven't posted, I am just very upset with my gain!
-
:hug:awww dont be disheartened Jayne! Think of it as motivation, im sure you'll do great this coming week!! xo
-
Jayne - could it be that you are building up some muscle? Doesn't that often show up as weight gain?
cherished - it's hard when you have to go out - but I guess, you've got to enjoy life sometimes too. I'm sure you'll lose it again fast enough :)
ginger - just think of all those Country Road clothes you can buy when you've reached goal weight. Just jump on L's trampoline for 10 minutes a day. That should do the trick ;)
sazza - it will happen for you. Pooh to the lady at the chinese restaurant - and yay to the person who noticed your weight loss.
bw - it must be difficult for you being in so much pain - (and from another thread I see you'll be a little stressed this weekend too) Sounds like you are in control though.
belfie - i'm enjoying doing CK. I love seeing how many calories I can spend by doing some excercise. I'm finding also that they have a lot of brands in their data base.
Krysalyss - great job on the 800g loss.
mr S - 11cm in a month is fantastic! I much prefer to go by centimetres than kilos.
afm - my willpower is high at the moment - having the kids and dh home on holidays , and they are enjoying cakes, chips etc, and i'm being very good.
My problem though is that i feel bloated each evening, and i'm not sure what it is. (although it should be easy to pinpoint as i'm not eating too much ) I had a pepsi max yesterday and I was in so much pain last night. It's not helping with measuring myself, because my stomach looks like a beach ball.
does anyone know where i might find some gluten free recipes with the nutrition analysis?
-
JAZ _ I don't have any recipes but I'm sure at the good newsagents there would be magazines that are published with recipes in? Failing all that, I'm sure google would give you a million hits for something??
Well done on staying strong with school holidays. I have a 'thing' with myself that the KIDS have a treat box & I tell myself it's the KIDS treat box, not a Mummy Box & so whatever is in there, stays in there for the kids. I treated myself to some WW cookies this week & also some Belgian Eclairs that are proudly still all intact & the box hasn't even been tampered with. Hehehehe
It has to be muscles, that's all it can be. I did stuff up my points on one day, but I have so much to lose I really doubt that ONE stuff up would put 500g on me. I did make myself do 12km on the rower on Monday night as penance & I rode Jess to & from school on Tuesday, & before I picked her up I had a ride around. So I am exercising again & also drinking the water, so that should help. Tomorrow I am off to see Beyonce so I'm not even going to do any exercise tomorrow because I am going in the dance pit so that is exercise enough! hahaah
MR SQUID _ WOOOOOT WOOOOOOOO!!!!!! On so many cm's coming off! Time for some new clothes me thinks!
-
Jayne - wow you do so much exercise! Good on you! Lucky you going to Beyonce - I was just dancing around the house to Single Ladies trying to copy her dance moves!! You should get a good workout, especially being in the dance pit.
I'll have a look at the newsagents. I tried google, but there doesn't seem to be too many diet friendly gluten free recipes. I could just be looking in the wrong place though.
-
Jayne that 500gram gain would be muscle dont worry you will have a lost next week
-
JAZ _ see I think the problem with me is that the exercise I choose to do is muscle building exercise, i think I need more cardio/fat burning ones? I am just waiting til Banjo is fully immunised so I can take him for walks along the beach & stuff like that? I'm also thinking of getting a skipping rope so I can do some skipping. I really need to get onto the treadmill again. It's just finding time!
MR SQUID _ I better see a loss on the scales monday morning, it's going to be my birthday & will be a seriously horrid start to the day if I start it with a gain! lol
-
Thanks people, that's just what I needed to read!
Jayne don't be too hard on yourself mate! I reckon it's muscle too by the way you are exercising like a mad thing!!!! Skipping rope would be great. I have one but cant use it with C wanting to get in the way all the time. You are soooo motivated at the moment, it's great to hear!
Jaza: have you altered your diet otherwise to make you feel bloated? Maybe if you have changed to a lot of "diet" foods your body is not liking the artificial sweeteners etc? I'm pretty sure you could find a recipe book at the newsagents for gluten free though. Women's weekly have a book for everything now!
-
Howdy folks just a quick one as I am off to work after my little holiday (and weight gain) so I wanted to declare myself accountable again for loosing it!
SnugBug sound like you've got a great plan and a very good reward to keep you going :D
Jayne I'm with everyone else, I think it's muscle, I know it's disappointing but I always think of the biggest looser and even they have a gain and a plateau at some stage, don't give up
-
don't worry jayne- we all have little gains along the way- think of it more as how much you have lost in total at the end of the month iykwim?
jaz- i'm pumped to buy lots of CR clothes at the end of this! LOL
-
i thought i'd do an update on my weight loss, i've been a bit slack with posting!!!???
well i have now lost 2.9 kg total, it has been a slow journey but i am moving in the right direction.
i have a goal of loosing 5 kg to go and see my sis, so not long to go now, i'm over 1/2 way.
hi to all, chat soon
-
OK, so I was a little excited about that skirt, but have to share this story with you all...
Yesterday, one of my staff went to the local op shop in her lunch break (she didn't like the top she was wearing so HAD to buy another one ) While there, she saw a dress that she thought I would like, so sent me over there in my lunch break. The dress she mentioned was an 8, but right opposite it was a similar dress in a 10. I thought "why not?" and I tried it on, and it fit like it was made for me. A cinderella-glass slipper moment. I took it home and showed DH, who was just gushing over how incredible it looked.
It feels AWESOME to look so good! I haven't been this skinny since I was 12. It's been hard work, but it is SO WORTH IT! I want you all to feel this way too, when you reach your goals, so get out there, and walk/run/swim/cycle/aerobicise/whatever you do.
And I hope we see some losses on Monday! :grouphug: All for one!
-
Awwwww SnugBug what a fantastic post!!! WOW so inspiring especiallly the "cinderella-glass slipper moment" comment :confetti: I had one of those when I went shopping the other week and bought the ball gown... I felt amazing in it! Whilst it looks great now I'd Just love to loose a couple of kg's before then and I will be so dazzeling my dh will need to keep all the men away from me  Again I'm so proud of you to have achieved and fell so good about it! You deserve it my lovely friend xoxo
JBM so nice to hear from you honey, you're doing really well so keep it up

It's not my weigh in day until tomorrow... but I had Sam weighed today, and it looks like our weight changes are the wrong way around this week! He's had a loss, and I suspect I'll have a gain! They tell me not to worry about Sam, due to his age and size and the fact that he just spent a week barely eating anything due to teething...
My excuse... the arthritis flare that left me in agony for two days and completely exhausted for a third. I'm trying to be gentle with myself, and I'm really just crossing my fingers and hoping that I can hold steady if I can't manage a loss this week, but I have a sneaking suspicion I'm looking at a gain. Don't know that there's much I can do about it - I need to have a big dinner tonight to help me cope with the methotrexate. *sigh*
Will probably go visit DH at work today to check Sam on the same scales as last time and may pluck up the courage to chuck myself on as well. I think it will be another week before I see a 6.

BW - Elly lost at least a couple of hundred grams probably more due to the tummy bug but mainly due to the lack of appetite that followed it for over a week. The last couple of days she has drank over a Litre!!! of Formula (Massive for her she usually drinks half that) and been eating (not heaps but some) again. They are right - even if they lose a bit because of sickness or teething, they will get back on track again eventually but it is hard not to worry. You're doing so well with the pain and med issues still sticking in there.
Snugglybean - That is fantastic! People who have always been skinny don't understand how magnificent a moment like that can be - knock em out girl.
-
whoooooooooooooo go sugglybean that is awesome:clap::dance:
-
Snugg that is sooo awesome!!!
Jayne - I agree that the gain could be due to muscle. Also remember your cycle can cause fluctuations. Instead of gaining during AF I gain just after so even if AF isn't here it could be due to something like that. Don't forget to take cms as well as kgs as you should still see losses there. You have been doing so well with the exercise and will see great results soon.
BW - sorry about your arthritis and also Sam. Hope you are all better soon.
JBM - great loss! Don't worry about not posting. It is hard to keep up with this busy thread. :)
Cherished- thanks for all of your lovely encouragements! You are such a great member of this forum :)
And woo hoo on the ball gown. We wanna see pics! :)
Well you wouldn't believe I twisted my other foot tonight at soccer. So that is now one twisted ankle, one twisted foot, a sore knee and a broken thumb in 4 weeks. Hopefully that is it for a long time. I thought the lighter I got the less injuries I would get but it seems to be the opposite. Oh well. Good excuse to keep my foot up ha ha!
Anyway hope everyone has an awesome, happy and healthy weekend!
-
Oh Krys!! Maybe stationary excercise equipment is the go for you . . definately don't go skiing with your run ATM! Hope you heal quickly and have gotten all your injuries out of the way for the next 5 years.
-
SNUGGLY BEAN _ I am soooooo happy for you, we need to see before & after shots of you & of course the 'after' shot has to be in the dress!! maybe you should stick the 2 pictures in your cupboard & fridge to remind you how well you have done! Congratulations darl!
KRYSALYSS _ I can't believe you have no done the other ankle! DO you think that soccer is telling you that it doesn't like you? LOL. I hope it's not too bad & you're up & at 'em again very soon! I don't seem to have a cycle atm, I have the implanon in my arm & that has basically stopped any cycle. I have had AF once time since I conceived Claudia & she is over 2.5 years now. I am loving it as I don't plan on any more children!
BW _ Sorry that Sam has lost weight again, but like you said, he didn't eat due to teething, don't be too hard on yourself, you're doing so well, gains along the way are apparently normal (hahaha my previous rant about a gain!). You are sooooooooooo close to your '6' mark. I'm hoping it surprises you!
CHERISHED _ I love your humour! Can't wait to see your Cinderella dress too!
SAZZ _ I haven't gotten around to purchasing the rope, but now I am re-considering as I know Banjo would love to have a skip with me & I don't want to get him with the rope & the kids would drive me mad with it. So I have been doing some situps instead. Your DH had any more chocolate surprise ice creams? I'm still grinning about your fruit icy pole!
ME _ Well didn't I have a brilliant time at Beyonce last night. I didn't get home til 1am. I had an absolute blast. I danced, I sang, I jumped, I screamed I WAS A REAL TEENY BOPPER! hehehe. I had such a good night, I just can't wait to go see Britney in November now. Beyonce was a fantastic show & I just loved the covers she sang as well as her own songs but OMG did Flo Rida get me excited!!!!!!!!! Ok, I'm stopping now.
Love Jayne x
-
Morning friends :p
Butterfly sounds very painful with your arthritis :( you're right, be kind to yourself, and you might surprise yourself and loose weight too
Krys Thanks for your nice comment about me, that has made my day  Sounds like you are also in a world of hurt, can't believe you've twisted your other foot! Didn't we say that bad luck stops at 3!
Jayne (and Krys) the ball is on Oct 16th so I will get a pic and post it :confetti: Sounds like you did have a great time at the concert! I have never been to a concert (what a dork hehehehe) but my dh is in a band and they are about to record their 1st album so that's exciting.... I'm pretty sure they will be famous so I'll be going to lots of concerts then
AFM ? I am seriously considering starting Jenny Craig, has anyone done it before? I keep thinking that I would need to stop when I get a BFP as they say you can't do it when you are pregnant but I've also been told that if you have weight to loose than it's fine to keep loosing weight while you are pregnant (in the 1st trimester anyway). So I guess I could just not tell them for a few weeks when I do get pregnant???.... and many woman are having morning sickness and not getting their usual amount of calories because of that so it's totally ok and I have no intention of starving myself but 1200 -1300 calories should be enough food surely.... what are your thoughts everyone.
On another note I have lost 400grams of that 800 I put on since Monday so hopefully next weigh in will be a loss or the same....
-
Hi everyone -
Wow this is a busy little thread - I'm hoping I'll be able to keep up with you all!
SnugglyB - How wonderful for you! I can't wait to have one of those moments where I put on a beautiful figure hugging dress and my dh's jaw drops open. (hopefully it will happen before christmas for me) I jumped on here yesterday (after I'd eaten 3 pikelets:rolleyes:) and read your post - and wished I'd read it before i ate the forbidden food. Now everytime I feel like eating something naughty, i think of you and your dress.
JBM - hi there, and congratulations on the 2.9kilo loss!
Krysalyss- you poor thing! that's alot of injuries to have in a month. Here's hoping that will be it for a while!
Jayne - glad you had a fantastic time at Beyonce. I bet you lost a bit from all that dancing!
BW - hope you're coping ok with your weekend away.
cherished - I haven't done Jenny Craig, so I can't give you any advice there.
Well done on the loss though.
afm - i bought some digital scales today, and my weight jumped up a kilo and half. I'm going to stick with the revised weight though. I'm finding it so hard to lose weight!! I remember when i was much younger, I would have lost 3 kilos by now. Aaahh the joys :)
-
It was just one day away... and I have survived. I am, however, physically and emotionally exhausted from it all. Today's food was crap, and I'm glad there's a long time between here and my next weigh in!
In better news... This morning's official weigh in saw me down to a flat 70kg. Still no 6, and only a 500g loss, but it's a loss when I was fully expecting to see a gain! I think I may have just been extremely bloated yesterday... or my hike around the ramps in the Macquarie Centre actually did something!
sorry for no personals - going to go crash.
