Heres hoping my legs forgive me in the morning...
Must try & eat NO naughty foods this week... that is my mission.... Plus Day1 of non-smoking tomorrow... oh boy wish me luck!!!!
Hope everyone is having a nice weekend...

Hey all!
I am weighing in tomorrow morning but I have had a shocker of a week, I was at a course all week and it was stressful and they provided us with BROWNIES every day for mornign tea - I have NO self control. Anyway, the 6 days is over, I passed  and got my accreditation and now am back on it! I have my treadmill here now so will get on when the kids nap tomorrow.
Hoping for a bit of a loss tomorrow morning will see how I go - other than morning tea I had sushi for lunch each day and healthy dinners, and although I didn't do any formal exercise we had movement and dance sessions at the course!
Good luck this week everyone - new week new start! :D
JBM - Im not sure how much you have lost til now but I found that I always plateau and it's hard to stay motivated but hang in there.
Ngala - I had a bad night this week too and we ate RR for dinner - horrible but I just write it off and tell myself I will start again, one bad day doesn't make a bad week or month. xoxo
-
Omg Mitch - 5km in 30 mins is great!
Tanstar - I can't resist anything chocolate-y either.... That's one of my big diet difficulties.
I'm not looking forward to weighing in the morning. Even though I'm new to this group, I've been dieting for 5 mths and am struggling to be as strict as I was in the beginning months. I'm also due to get my period and am starting to bloat... I sometimes gain up to 1.5-2nd while I have my period so any loss will be positive this Monday and next!
-
Sounds like some of us have had a tough week but that's ok cause it's the start if a new week and a good time to get serious again!
Tammie - when I was on bcp I used to drop 1-1.5kg before AF but now off it I think I gain it!! will see tomorrow with weigh in if its true as AF is here..
-
Ok so I have weighed in and lost 200grams so not tooooo bad in the whole scheme of brownies  Back on it this week and summoning up some healthy ideas for school next week - we have wicked Wednesday and of course I work on a Wednesday and there is rarely any sight of anything healthy so I will have to use all my self control to hold back from the scrummy food everyone makes. Back to exercising every day too, I really missed it last week, today will be C25K on the treadmill once kids are napping. Raining here in Melbourne blergh. Have a great Monday all! xox
-
Well down Tan! 200g is good considering you had a bad week!
I am quite embarrassed to admit this :hide: and I cant really believe it myself! but here goes..........................
74kg
:jawdrop:
:o  :wall: :shakehead:
How embarrassing for me!! 2kg gain. Oh my gosh.. Theres a lot of factors to consider with this gain - period is here, had a sausage sizzle yesterday and enjoyed some beverages, and crappy week with the food. My gut is sore today too so thats not good - too many bread rolls yesterday!!
So, better brush myself off and get back on the wagon.
-
Congrats Tan - any loss is a loss! Great work.
Ngala - don't stress about the gain. Im the same with AF. Weight loss is so hard around that time.
I weighed this morning.... 3 times with 3 different results. Anything between 104.0 - 104.5. I am going to claim the 104.0.... It's only a 400g loss since thurs but as I said before, better than nothing.
We have visitors coming tomorrow and staying until Sunday which is going to make this week really hard, I'll try to be good though (or good-ish).

I was talking to my trainer about my lack of control with eating at the end of my menstrual cycle and he told me to remove all temptation out of the house so I wont have my pig out! He also thinks that if I mix a bit with the 'bad' with my good diet that it should matter too much. My problem is that the bad is in the evening after work and that is the worst time for carbs! But everything changes next week when I stop working. My plan of attack is as follows...
Monday - PT session
Tuesday - RPM
Wednesday - PT session
Thursday - Body Pump
Friday - Cycle six pack
Thats a crazy amount of exercise isnt it?! But I have GOT to do it cause its the only way I am going to have control of myself not working cause I'll be at home with all my temptation screaming at me to eat it!
-
well i di almost 10,000 steps yesterday and i worked all day which is a sitting down job. i had only done 4500 steps when i got home about 5 pm so i just moved around heaps, watered garden, kept moving til i did 9600 for the day.
i can do it when i want to. now i just need to be extra good with food.
-
Well done, Tan, a loss is a loss and I'd claim it if I were you!
JBM, 9600 steps is fantastic, great job!
AFM, I did weigh yesterday and I was... 78.3kg!! Exactly the same as the past 2 weeks! Still, I'm a little surprised I didn't gain because I had a very slack week with little exercise and pretty crap eating. On a positive note, my big kids are back at school next week (sniff sniff) and I went to the gym yesterday - not to exercise! - but to book the creche for next week. So, I'm booked in for Tues, Wed, Thurs and Fri. OMG... I'll be buggered! Hope Miss P settles alright, she is a big mumma's girl already! My plan is to go to the gym Mon, Tues, Thurs and Fri... which leaves Wed for the Babes in Arms movie sessions which I love! If I exercise I know I will also eat better so i don't waste all that effort.
So ladies, one more week of slack arse for me, then I'm into it in a big way! Hope you are all doing better than I am!
-
Morning!
Jumped on the scales again this morning and weighed 73.2kg so a "loss" of 800g. But not really cause the gain was from AF. It's amazing and annoying how much weight fluctuates with AF

Wow V that is a huge load of exercise! Make sure you don't get an injury hun. Yay for your 800g loss, I know what you mean about AF - I get SO bloated I always feel like I have stacked on weight but usually haven't - not a nice feeling though looking and feeling 6 mths pg!!
I drove down to Warrandyte this morning and had a nice walk along the river pushing 40kgs of kids. about 30 mins/3kms all up and am going to do my Jillian dvd once the kids go to bed shortly! Yay! The more I do the more I want to do, I forgot how good exercise makes you feel.
-
Hi Ladies,
I weighed in at the same weight as last week. I was doing really well at the start of the week but didn't do much exercise towards the end and my eating was a bit out of whack too. Back on the bandwagon this week and aiming to lose at least 500g!
-
Hi ladies,
Well I've been rather unwell today so thought I'd weigh (just out of curiosity). I came in at 103.3 which is about 700g from yesterday....
I know it's all due to illness but hopefully it's still a little higher than usual as I have AF and typically gain about an extra 1kg. Just have to not put it back on when I can eat again!
We have visitors flying in tonight until Sunday so hopefully I can still eat reasonably and lose a little more.
xx.
-
72.8kg this morning.. another 'loss' of 400g since yesterday. I am hoping to drop the exta 800g by the end of this week and try and get down to 71kg by the end of the first week of February. I am pretty sure I could do the 1kg loss in a week!
-
ngala: keep up the god work
i am still being good. but forgot to wear me pedometer yesterday. weigh in on sunday. bit scared....
good luck to everyone else.
-
Hi there everyone, can I join in?
I'd like to lose weight to gain weight -baby weight :) I had a missed miscarriage a week ago so I've decided to use the time before TTC again to try to lose 5kg.
I've done Weight Watchers before with good success but that was 6 years ago and put it all back on. I find it quite hard to resist certain foods, plus I have a VERY restricted diet anyway as I have PKU (phenylketonuria - Google it). Many of my replacement low protein foods are high in sugar and fat and I have to have a special drink each day which is loaded with sugar, so it's very hard to lose weight!
But I'm determined to try, if it will help the next baby be a sticky one!

:hello: Welcome phebee and Tammy!
Sorry I have been a bit MIA girls. My ticker is the same because it's my first weigh in tomorrow :crossfingers: wish me luck! although there's not much I can do about it now lol!! So because meetings are on a Wed and last Wed was a public holiday I've gone 2 weeks on WW. I'm kind of not doing it properly though because the little booklet they give you for 'free' doesn't list the points values of many foods. They put all the fresh fruit and veggies in it that are zero points and also all the WW products that have the points on the box anyway :wall: Anyway, that's my little whinge. I think I'll just buy their points calculator and maybe an eating out guide to better estimate my points. Its hard to count them when I'm only sure of half of what I eat every day. I have been making much better choices though, way more salad and no chocolate aside from those diet mousse things :leap: so I'm hopeful of a loss. I'll come back tomorrow and let you know how I go.
Hope everyone is having a good week.
-
Good luck with the weigh in, Kaz!
Well, I weighed yesterday and I was 78.6kg... a gain of 300g! BUT I did go to the gym today. Almost killed me, has been a while since I exercised. Focussed on cardio and will worry about some light weights when the weight starts to go. Saw my old personal trainer who asked where I'd been and when I told him I had just had a baby his response, 'Really? You're looking pretty hot!'. Hmmm, might have to go see him again!!! Anyway, I know I'm overweight, but it was nice to receive a compliment anyway. Had a talk to him about what I should be doing to move the weight and he agrees I should focus on cardio for the next few weeks and watch what I eat. Portion control is a big issue for me, along with the after dinner sweet cravings.
Well, at least I have started doing something to make me feel better about myself. Gym again tomorrow! Oh, and the most important bit... Miss P was fine in the creche and fell asleep in her pram for them. Such a relief!
Hope you are all doing well!
-
Yay! I am back down to 77kg! 900g loss this week :) My BMI is 26.0 and my next mini goal is to get to 75kg by the end of the month
Ngala - How'd you go with your weigh in now that AF is gone?
Nickle - The weight will start coming off if you focus on the cardio and also your food intake :) I wouldn't worry about your 300g gain too much. That's awesome that Miss P was happy and settled in the creche, one less thing for you to worry about
Tammie - Fingers crossed that the scales stay down for you!
JBM - How'd you go with weigh in?
Phebee - Welcome! The more the merrier!
Kaz - Good luck for your weigh in today! I agree that if you're going to do WW properly and be successful at it you need to get the resources and have all the info you help you on your way. I haven't had any experience with WW but maybe it would be cheaper to access it online instead of buying the book?
Tanstar - I downloaded the Jillian workouts and am going to try for the first time today, I'm looking forward to it.
A few people asked me about Tae-bo but I must've skipped over it. Tae-bo is like combat boxing and kicking, high intensity cardio. It also has a focus on strengthening your core muscles and gives a pretty good all over body workout. I used to have it on video cassette but only have a dvd player now so downloaded a few different ones to do.
Telly!!! Where are you??? I'm cracking the whip, lol :whip: Come back!
-
nickle - great news about bub sleeping at the gym, that's fantastic! and  at the compliment! I bet even though you feel overweight and out of shape you're probably looking better than lots of mums so soon after birth.
FW - :leap: YAY! 900g loss is awesome. Well done hun. That tae-bo sounds really full on!
AFM - I lost 2.6kg in the last two weeks :leap: I am happy with that, especially because I did have a few drinks a couple of times and I was a bit slack a few other days and wasn't counting my points at all after the first week cause I was only half doing it. Some of the other women who joined when I did hardly lost anything and seemed to have not tried because they couldn't count properly. We all bought our little calculators and the shopping guide and eating out guide I got look pretty good too. Yesterday I still had points to spare and again today I have some still left over but I don't want to eat for the sake of it. I'm sure I'll have a few blow out days this week and it will all even out in the end.
-
Hi ladies...
Welcome to the new faces... :)
Looks like everyone is cruising along nicely... Don't worry if you have a small gain or stay the same, just keep persevering.. it WILL come off!!! (well thats what I tell myself lol)
After last weeks small gain I have lost 900g this week, so very happy with that.
My bike has been to the shop & had the gears fixed so were good to go... going for a 5k walk today (hope i survive its really hot here), then have a duathlon next weekend & maybe a 5k walk on the Sunday! (will see how well I survive the duathlon on Saturday first lol)..
Right... off to do some housework & boring stuff like that...
Have a great weekend everyone!
-
Well, on the recommendation of my sister and my PKU dietitian, I tried Calorie King over the weekend and while I was good, it was not. I'd recommend it for anyone without dietary restrictions or only one or two, but it's just too hard with PKU.
My low protein food and formula took up so many calories that I could basically only eat breakfast, salad for lunch and a light dinner and I'd be lucky to get a snack. I KNOW when I did WW in 2005, I could eat way more than that and it worked. I've still got the books so I'm going to start again with WW tomorrow.
So this is my plan: wake up, weigh in, record starting weight on here & make a 10% goal (that's probably all I'll have time for as I'll be starting TTC again soon) and record all my food, using my old WW books. I've got Vietnamese Rice Paper Rolls filled with salad all ready to go for lunch tomorrow and plenty of fruit so should be alright I hope!

Right, here we go!
Monday: 1st weigh in: 77.9kg (surprised me cause on Friday I was 79.4kg, same scales. I guess CK did work, but that's far too quick a loss to be sustainable).
My BMI height/weight info suggests I should aim for 66kg overall, but I have a stocky build and a large ribcage, so I don't think that's realistic, At least not at the moment. I got down to 71kg last time I did WW so I'm going to aim for 70kg...
BUT because I want to TTC again soon, I'm going to aim for 75kg. If I get there before conceiving, I'll keep going until I conceive. If not, I'll stop where I got to until I've had the baby, then pick up where I left off. Sounds good in theory doesn't it? Lol

Hi Ladies!
Sorry I have been MIA for a little while - a lot as changed in my life over the last few weeks so just trying to get settled in to a new routine. But everything is in place now and running smoothly!!
Welcome to the newcomers!! I hope that you acheive the goals that you want.
I weighed myself this morning - 73kg. My weight is so up and down at the moment that it is frustrating me a bit. But I am trying to not focus on the weight and reduce my body fat percentage so yesterday with my trainer we did a check and I was at 25.something% so we are reducing that and not looking too much at what the scales say. I am in week 2 of my intensive 5times a week gym program so will be interesting to see if the classes help reduce body fat. I've also just started another TWW  so I have to make sure that I am eating my way to a healthy pregnancy!! Remind me this one ladies when I have a diet crash!!
-
Wow Ngala! That sounds full on! Hope it works out well for you and good luck for the TWW! :D

i havn't weighed myself as AF always makes me gain, so won't weigh in til she has gone. have been o.k but need to be a bit stricted. back to wearing my pedometer again. been a bit naughty.
good luck to everyone.
-
just popping my head in quickly...........so quiet in here............
Think I'm going to gain this week..........
-
I have been going up and down week to week with my weight and have been pretty slack. Yesterday I started going walking with my friend, we are going to go every morning for an hour, I think this is the kick start that I need :)
Hope everyone else is well
-
Hello!!
Yes has been very quiet in here...
We all have our highs and lows with dieting but its best to jump back on the wagon as soon as possible and focus on your goal again!!
I have a different goal now!!!! To NOT gain 20kg this pregnancy  So I will still be here for the motivation but the scales will be going to other way for me!! I only want to gain 10 kg (will actually give myself to 13kg) and told my trainer that this is his challenge. I am doing good so far - eating healthy and going to the gym 5 times a week. I just hope that I can keep it up!!
-
YAY Ngala! :leap: Congratulations hun! So pleased for you. I think you're awesome going to the gym so often. I found with DS I was getting light headed and felt sick so I gave myself the first trimester off the gym but I never went back
FW - I had a walk this morning and thought that I really should make the effort to get up earlier and do it more often. It was only 20 minutes but I felt great when I got back.
Well after not tracking and eating a bit of junk (first chocolate since Christmas) I managed to lose 1.7kg this week :o It's kind of like the first couple of weeks when I couldn't track properly and lost 2.3kg. Maybe not tracking is the key? When I track I lose like half a kilo a week. Doesn't make any sense except that it could be stress.
-
Kaz - that is great!! The no tracking might be a good thing for you then :)
I got to 16 wks in my last pg before I gave up going to the gym this time I have a personal trainer so he'll be keeping me in line!!

Hi all! Back from my self imposed ban! I too find that the best thing to do is forget how badly you have fallen off the wagon the day before and start again each day! I haven't been tooooo bad with eating but haven't been tracking which is bad. I also broke my toe a few weeks ago and now I can't run, so have got a Contours trial that I am just starting, and also doing my dvd. Seems to be helping and a few girls at MG commented that they could see I have lost weight which is nice! Only 2kgs over quite a few weeks but I am happy that my clothes are bigger on me, I think with running I gained a bit of muscle as well.
Ive also found that my tummy is getting a wee bit flatter and the amount of separation I had after having my massive J has closed. Once it is fully closed I am hoping I will have some killer abs (ROFL - that is sarcasm btw - after a nearly 9lber and 10lber that ain't gonna happen)
Anyhoo have a great day!
-
Day 5 of early morning walking and I'm feeling pretty good :) I'm looking forward to my weigh in on Monday!
Ngala - I was wondering how you were going now that you got your BFP, that's awesome that you are still keeping up with the gym and personal trainer! I imagine that because your body will be fit and toned it will be easier to lose any excess weight after you have your bub.
Kaz - Morning walks are awesome, aren't they? I feel so energised and have gotten my walk out of the way, don't have to worry about fitting it in at night time between bath, dinner and bed for my DD. Congrats on your loss!
Tanstar - Welcome back! It is so nice to feel a difference in your clothes and it's a great indicator of your achievements even if the scales aren't moving as much :) How frustrating about the broken toe, seems like you've come up with some good alternatives to running though
-
Tan - welcome back!! Its always good when your clothes become loose on you. That is sometimes a good indicator that things are working cause muscle weighs more than fat so the scales can be a bit annoying when you start building the muscle (thats been my prob!)
Fuzzy - I lurve getting up in the mornings and going for a walk/jog! I think its the best way to start the day :) I didnt do it this morning and feel pretty crap bout it.
But going to a cycle class this morning, so atleast I'll burn some calories there :D
-
OKay okay okay.... I'm in here, I've been here before, hopefully I'll stay long enough this time to get me moving enough to see some kgs go!!!!
DS is 6 months and I think it's time to get off my (no longer decreasing in size) butt! All of my excuses are running out. DS sleeps like a dream, it's not too hot anymore, we have plenty of fresh and in season food, both hubby and I are great cooks and we love it!
Things I need to do are:
* Get back to drinking heaps of water
* Walk at least 4 times a week (totally reasonable)
* Limit myself to 2 slices of the most delicious homemade bread a day
* Get on the veggie train...I love veggies, I don't know why I haven't been eating them!
I have at least 8 kgs to lose, but weight's not the major motivation. I'm TIRED. I want to be NOT TIRED :D I always feel better when I'm hydrated, vegged up and exercising.
I've joined WW and it worked for the first month and then I got lazy. I'm still doing it (online) but need to be more involved with it. I need a bit more motivation I think.
Random enough ramblings for ye? I'll take a look back at all the posts now, get some inspiration! Hope you don't mind me barging in!
K xxx
-
I know it's a double post, but it's a new day and I feel like I need to be accountable somewhere...so here it is!
I'm doing well... 3 litres of water today, 2 slices of bread (man that was tough!!!) and I walked for an hour and a half. It was meant to be an hour, but I was feeling so good, and bubs didn't fall asleep until 45 mins into it, so I thought I'd better keep going :)
Yay for me!
How's everyone going today?
-
ok i'm coming back in too. I ducked into the "other" weightloss thread but kept falling off the wagon - so back in here feels like a fresh & positive start!
I weighed a week ago, ate well but not really trying - lost 800g yay. 10kg to go.
So THIS week I've committed to my plan (started 2 days ago), tracking on CK, exercising well. My DH has just done his back (yesterday omg wouldn't you know it!?!?! :wall:) but it's kinda ok cos he's been sick for 3 months anyway - so i'm used to being busy lol. Just really need to cut out the emotional eating & exercise consistently...
Today I plan on a good 30 mins walking with the stroller - so 30kg worth up some hills has gotta be worth something!
-
been ramping up the exercise late;y with good results will share tomorrow when i weigh in for the week
-
hi ladies im new here.
I had my bub in nov. 8 weeks 3 days early and am just getting back into my fitness regime. So for this week i have lost 2kg. I have another 9kg to go.
