 Me too Ginger - how is this stoopid rain. ALLLL day..... I am just in such a crap head space with work, sore eye and got home from the dr at 2:30 and realised i hadn't eaten ALL day - so then what do I do? Eat bacon and eggs with juice followed up by wafers, choc bikki and a friggin tic toc.... Going to have steamed veg for dinner methinks and about to haul this a$$ off the couch for a zumba dvd
-
I'm feeling the same ladies. I so want to go out and buy a block of chocolate. Lucky we have no junk left in the house or it would be gone. I'm hanging out for dinner.....
-
:grouphug: I think we all need this and let's turn it into a can-can while we are at it ;)
-
yeah me too. And hubby is home late, my head is thumping (ok maybe I called recovery too early) and my toddler is driving me NUTS! I wish the weather was nice! Think I might just aim for 30 mins exercise tonight.
-
Yeah....I was really looking forward to doing my big walk on the track I usually do when my big kids are in childcare on a Wed, but it's raining. DS2 is being a sooky lala and I want to clean my pigsty of a house but can't with him on my hip all day. So I have been sitting watching tv or jiggling him around and playing silly buggers with him to stop him sooking. As lovely as that is, my house is still a pigsty and I am soooo tired from sitting around all day.

its just one of those days i think...
luckily i did some exercise this morning LOL
-
Me too Ginger, must be the day for it. made some bread this morning so of course I had a slice of that for breakfast with my homemade hommus. Then I made some anzacs, and have had about half the batch. Bloody ridiculous.
Plus my uncle came over with some bread from the bakery, so I had 2 huge slices of bread with hommus for lunch. Then more anzacs.
I'm useless. I did walk up the street and back - but thats only a 2km walk, that'll do nothing!! LOL
-
hi all! just popping in to say YAAAAY! 74kg! almost at goal #1!
sorry for no personals... am totally not keeping up. :p
-
On the bike. Was so tired & cranky. Amazing what some really loud music (headphones!) can do!! Pumping it yeah.

Hi Ladies :hello:
Mind if i join you here, im a self sabotaging dieter, who emotionally eats, and feels guilty for it, do u think i meet the criteria?
I am in need of major support in my journey to loose the weight i have gained over the last 10 years of having babies and yoyo dieting.
My hubby, bless him, says he loves me the way i am, i however dont have the same love for myself, and since i had to loose/maintain my weight to be able to birth at my hospital, i thought it would be easy to keep it going, but alas, its not quite going the way i planned :(
Today i missed breakfast, had like 8 saos with butter and tomoate and cheese for lunch, no morning or after noon tea, and finished it off with an ultimate box from kfc, oh and lets not forget the dohnut, i ate and am about to eat another :( and even though i know i shouldnt, im going to cause i had a bad day, and i need comfort.
so i hope u dont mind me crashing in here, i really need some support

Just a quick hello :)
I've been reading just not posting, the thread has been moving quick and I feel bad if I forget to reply.
Back from a holiday yesterday, so back on track. Don't want to...... But know I have to.
Keep up the motivation ladies. Put the food down!!! Hahaha
Ahhhhhh. Wish I was one of those naturally slim people, damn it!!!
Did anyone else see that fb group, 'not having an amazing body because let's face it, foods better". Haha! Oh that is so true for me!
Love to all x

Hi anila  sorry to hear your day hasn't been good, I'm terrible at emotional eating too. Hope we can help you keep on track and give you some support when you need it :)

Welcome Anila :)! In my experience I found 'habit' to be the biggest factor in weeding out bad eating habits.
I find it easier to be on a strict diet with no treats; as once I open up the door to a sugary treat (or whatever treat for example) it leaves me seriously craving for more. I'm better if I go without treats, but everyone is different.
I use my stubbornness for good purpose and if naughty food is on offer to me when I'm trying to lose weight, I decline it. The harder it's pushed to me with the 'just one won't hurt' or 'you've been eating so well, you deserve a treat' crap the harder I'll dig my heels in and reject the offer.
It's really about mindset and working out those triggers & how u respond. For instance, something happens and you think 'stuff it' and reach for a donut (what u eat in private shows in public ;)), swap that reaction for something more positive and healthy like chewing gum, or going for a walk, an apple etc. Sorry for prattling on ;).
Telly - welcome back hun! Nice to see u back :D.
Afm - I went into work yesterday and saw an older colleague mixing up a Meal replacement drink. She told me her gp wants her to lose 15 kgs by mid sept, and she has a meal replacement shake at breakfast and lunch, and two cups of steamed veg in the evening - and water whenever she wants thru the day (oh the luxury)......I'm bewildered that is all a 'health professional' has advised her to consume. She'd be a size 14-16 currently. Has anyone else received advice like this from a health professional before?

hi anila, welcome hun. i am totally with ladybird11 in that i just go without treats as it's easier to stay focused once the taste has gone from your mind. it is hard though - that first two weeks without were like AAAGGGHHHHH for me, but now is all good! and have lost 10kg in just under 2 months :D
ladybird11 - i don't think that sounds like food frankly.. i figure if my great grandmother wouldn't recognise it as food then it's not. my rule is simple whole foods: fruit, veges (exc potatoes), meat, nuts, carbs in moderation (generally at breakfast only, maybe lunch but not often), soy milk with breakfast as am dairy intolerant, cottage cheese from time to time if am really craving cheese. that's about it. i figure if i stick within those lines and keep my portions to a good size then that is okay, and hey it seems to be working!
have been a bit lazy recently and not done any intervals or pilates for about a week but have been walking a lot, so is okay (not great lol, but okay). plan to get myself back into gear by the weekend!
-
Livvy - you are rocking it Hun! Ten kilos in 2 mths :D. So so happy for you!!!!
-
Hitching up my wagon!! Who is getting on with me! Yeeeehawwww! Back later when I'm off my phone with goals for today!
-
Ok back!!! Nobody else riding with me!? ;) Today I am going to:
do my 30 day shred dvd and zumba - so 1 hour of exercise
drink at least 6 glasses of water
drink NO diet coke
have a healthy lunch - thinking omelette
resist the wafers and 100s and 1000s bikkies.
I caught my profile at the shops the other day and it was good motivation to realise my tummy is definitely smaller than it was a few weeks ago!!! Wooot!
My eye is feeling loads better today too, still at home today though but I don't think it will need the ointment thank goodness.
Have a great Thursday lovelies!

anila, welcome! I have been ina nd out of this thread 10000 times. I think this time I may have managed to find the mindset and determination it takes to do it. I just sick of being fat. Sick of making excuses. I have been self sabotaging too. I eat my emotions BIG TIME! It is a terrible coping mechanism that I have adopted and I need to figure out a new one. But I think the penny has finally dropped. (YAY!) It has taken alot of time and energy (and more than a few tears too!), and will take alot more time effort and tears for me to fully grasp it. Changing habbits that have developed over YEARS is tough. It won't take a week or two to change them. And I am finally realising that. But I will get there. You can do it too hun. If I can, so can you.
tellytubby, welcome back!! I am facing a week or two away next week. Just going to my mums, but we will be catching up with alot of friends and all of our favourite restaurants and stuff are in Sydney (living in a small remote town makes not eating take away and junk soooo much easier, it's just not here to have!) I'm hoping I can maybe indulge a little, but still control myself. I don't want to feel deprived for the rest of my life just to be slim...but these are the challenges of life aren't they??
ladybird, the advice your friend got is definately dodgy. So many doctors just have no idea! Meal replacements are just wrong. I tried them once and
they so just don't cut it! I neeeed foooodddd!!!!!!! Besides 14-16 not being terribly huge and such a drastic 'diet' (I use the term loosely) is not warrented, what does this doctor think will happen when she begins eating propper nutritious food again?! Plus the fact that only eating veggies is so not going to give her the energy or nutrition she needs in a day, let alone a few weeks! Just wondering, did you set her straight?
I have not been given such terrible advice as that, though I did ask my GP about losing weight (I had the same 30-ish kg to lose, so technically I was/am obese) and possibly seeing a nutritionist a few months after I had DS1 and because I was breastfeeding, she told me 'just stay fat for now, you can lose weight later'. While I see that she was probably just saying it isn't a great time to lose weight with a newborn and whilst breastfeeding, I wasn't asking her for some drastic diet pills or anything, I was asking for advice on doing it the right way. Plus she could have said it in a better way!
livvy, you are doing so well! I can't wait til I can say I have lost 10kg!! I try to stick with natural food too. It does make me feel healthier!
Tan, you go girlfriend!! Glad to hear your eye is better.
I am pleased to report that although I had insane cravings to eat and eat and eat (particularly chocolate or something similar) I DID NOT DO IT!!!!! I am monumentally proud of myself. It was tough. There were tears. And even an argument with DH. But after my delish lamb shanks for dinner, I did not eat a single morsel of food. OMG. Now that is an achievement for me, that's my worst time of day especially when I am tired (I usually get about 4-5hrs broken sleep a night and up at 5.30am) and stressed (from having a fight with DH!). I kept reminding myself that if I don't do this now I will still be fat in 12 months, 2yrs, 5yrs.....from now. I talked to DH, we sorted stuff out and I got a sleep in today (yay for small blessings!). And you know what my reward was (aside from the amazing sense of achievement!)....I finally conqured the 91kg barrier that has been haunting me for the last few weeks!!! 90.2 this morning, and that was with rather-full-of-milk boobies, cause I hadn't fed my usual 2-3hrly feeder for 4hrs lol! I might even crack the 90 barrier by my propper weigh in day! Can you tell I'm excited??? :D
Those I missed, sorry! :hello: but hi!! Hope your day is going well!
