Hi there!
I've been in and out, and here I am back in again! Hopefully I'll be better with keeping up with everyone this time!
So, of the 36 kilos I gained during pregnancy, I have THREE (+0.4) to go. Phew! It's getting difficult now because I'm kinda ok with how I 'look', so it's easier to justify putting something in my mouth that isn't going to do anything but add to the total amount eaten for the day! LOL
So the rules I'm sticking with at the moment ARE:
1. This is not a diet. I am putting food in my mouth that will contribute to my overall health. If something doesn't have anything nutritional to add, it's not going in.
2. I will not restrict calories or types of food I eat other than rule #1. If it'll do good for me, I will eat it. It needs vitamins or energy. A fire needs fuel to burn, and a body needs food to function. I will, however, recognise when I am hungry, and eat then.
3. I feel so much better when I drink water. It's not that I WANT to, my body needs water to function properly. I don't feel 'hungover' when I'm hydrated.
4. A walk in the afternoon around 4ish is good for both mine and DS's sanity. He's in the backpack, so it's resistance training ;) It's good for me mentally and physically, and it's a nice way to spend the afternoon with DS looking at the countryside and pointing out the things that take his interest.
5. If I stick to the above 4 rules, there is no reason I can't indulge every now and then. A piece (or 3) of chocolate is better than a block. A couple of glasses of good wine on a special night is a lot more enjoyable than a glass of cask wine every night. Chippies are only to be enjoyed with DH and as I always have some left when he finishes his, I will always offer what's left in my bowl. :D
