Ooooh... fingers crossed for you Cherish! You've been so good today! I had two fruitless hot cross buns for b'fast... and a little egg (the hard ones)... and I've had two of the next size up. :redface: DD offered me one of her eggs and I said no and (get this!) DH gave me a huge lecture about how rude I am because DD is sharing! :wall: so I relented! Now he is down on the treadmill (he ate 2 little eggs, 3 the next size up, three hot cross buns). I'm going for a big walk this afternoon with DD (she needs to burn some energy!) and then on the treadmill later... We were going to have spag bol for dinner... think we might have chicken stir fry instead...

Easter is wicked!

Ohhhh Mother Goose you have done SO WELL!!! :clap: I'm lucky DH is so supportive (some times TOOOOOO supportive,when I want to slack off a bit!) He is so supportive to the point where if he wants pizza,chocolate, wine etc and I feel like I can't really afford to have it than he wont have it BLESS HIM :inlove:

He never buys me easter eggs and I usually buy a few for both of us but because I'd already eaten a few during the week I didn't get any, feeling good about it today.

hi girls i am still here. we went away camping for the week after easter and i got the flu ( from DH), also had AF and to top it off burnt myself on camp fire. doing well.
i am still not better.
had a headache, and just feeling so tired. to top it off i have to work tomorrow as i can't get hold of anyone to say i am sick ?! arggggg

i don't know what i have been eating but i havn't been real good. dh has been doing a bit but some toasted sangas a few times isn't good 4 me.

hope to get back on track this week as i have a personal training session on thursday.

hope you guys are being better .

I'm actually sitting here feeling BLERG right now. Just feel so drained and nauseated... I'm def not PG, last days of AF... had a Macca's (small) meal today so it is probably that. I just want to sleep in the sun out of the wind... maybe I'm coming down with something. Who knows. I've been doing ok otherwise. Eating is perfect but it is 10000 times better than the old me. AND I've been doing well on my treadmill. I'm very happy with that. I have a PT session Tuesday morning... feeling sick about that too...

AFM on the weight loss front.... I haven't weighed myself for ages but my clothes are getting looser, strangley I can particularly tell in my underwear! :lol: They were getting pretty tight and I thought I was going to need to go and buy larger ones heheheh

I've gotta say again that I highly recommend the Gabriel Method book. It's an easy read and it all makes so much sense that you will want to keep reading (this is coming from someone who is lucky to read one book a year) There is a cd which he has that he recommends you listen to every night so DH downloaded it from the website onto his mp3 player for me and I fall asleep before it even finishes. I don't know everything that it says on there but since the 1st time I listened to it I get up in the mornings with so much energy and I 'want' to eat well. I have nearly done everything that I have been 'putting off' around the house too which feels great!

Anyway don't forget to rest if you are sick, working out too much will only make you feel worse :)

Mothergoose - must start with you. The quote you have from Sara Henderson - RIGHT ON! I have always beleived there is a light at the end of the tunnel and always tell people that when times are tough. Having read that quote, enspired me to join this thread and do something about my post 2 babies body. also, today is my 15 yr annivesary with DH (even though he really is my DP but after 15 years......) and I was an 8 when we first started going out and now I hover around 12 / 14. eeeek!:redface:

Anyways I am 65kg - 67kg which thankfully is what I was when I fell preggas last time...but 5 up from what I was the first time I fell preggas 2.5 yrs ago.

I am a sahm so really time is no constraint, it is all the reasons I come up with not to do some exercise - have to do the washing, DS2 has to have a sleep, it cold, wet, hot daylight or too early! The dog could do with a walk too. lol

I cook reasonably well, but have become lazy since DS2 was born, well not lazy just feel too darn tired to cook sometimes....enter KFC! :doh:

I try to have my 2L of water most days but like today, find myself fueling up on coffee due to late night / early morning today and feeling abit blah due to sinus. Should be drowning myself in water as I know it will help clear up the snot! lol

I know I can easily drop a few kgs asI have done it before a few yrs ago. Walked every night after work, increasing distance every few days, ate three meals plus fruit / yoghurt for morning and arvo tea.

I think my prob most days is lack of motivation / laziness / can't be bothered!

Soooo, someone put a bomb under my butt perlease!!!!!

Welcome Vixstar!!! You can definately do it. Start with small steps and keep positive!

I use to make excuses like that too... it's daylight - someone will see me; it's dark - too dangerous; it's too hot; it's too cold... Now, I look forward to my time on the treadmill - it is me time. I am enjoying getting my confidence back. I hope you can enjoy your journey as much as I am enjoying mine!

I was so proud of myself last night. We had to go out for FIL birthday and went to Hogs Breath and I ordered the lite version of my meal, which was a smaller cut of meat! Plus doubled my salad!!!! Yay......and had dessert too......mmmmm.....better work on the kinds of dessert I eat me thinks! lol

Vix - well done on selecting the lite menu! I know how hard that is at Hog's Breath - their menu is so tempting! And remember, it is still ok to have dessert... just try to chose healthier options and you don't have to eat it all. And be kind to yourself, it takes us years to form these bad habits so it is only fair it is going to take time to build new healthy habits.

JBM - how are you doing hon?

Me - well, I had another session with my PT last night... am sooooooooooo over it. EVERY time I see him there is a problem. Whether it me freaking out about the gym, or me hurting myself. I think I've only had one injury free session so far. Last night my shoulder was cactus. It is good this morning but my back isn't. I'm sitting here icing it. So not happy. I've done my stretches my Osteo gave me but it is only slightly improved. Not happy at all!!!! But PT and Osteo have talked and have worked out some plans to speed my recovery along for my injuries and get me back up to where I want to be so I cna train hard again... preferabbly without having more injuries. I am so over being injured. I said to PT last night that I am scared of hurting myself more - that I can't afford any more injuries. I can't afford to have another big injury. My body is rooted as it is...

Sorry - I'm a tad negative this morning - pain will do that to me! But my eating is much better. Not perfect, but better...

Oh that ia too bad about your back. I injured my back years and years ago and it took so long for it to heal. I went to the same Chiro for over a decade and then changed Chiros and within a few sessions I was healed! No more headaches or backaches, neck pain......just needed a change in my treatment and babooshka!!!! Hope the new plans work!

Not much happening today. was going to go for a walk this morning but felt like crap...late night, early morning for DS#1's swimming which was not on due to Anzac Day (DH and I need to read more signs I think!!), blocked nose, headache, ear ache....I think sleep would be a wonderful natural therapy. lol mmmm, excuses again!

well i lost 700g this week, prob because i was so sick last week with flu and had such a sore throught i ate hardly anything, but hey a loss is a loss.
i was supposed to have my first pt on thur and when i got there she basically just went thru my scedule and gave me a thing for treadmill work then expected me to pay for that as my pt session. not happy about that, i did not pay for it BTW.
i think i might go back to my guy trainer , i thought having a woman might be better, but i do not feel good about this girl already.

so anyway i did 2o mins on treadmill on my own so at least i did something and back into some walking this week also.

Vixstar well done on your night out... It can be tricky! I go out for dinner heaps (to restaurants) I've found places like indian or thai great because I can share with DH and have a bit of everything so I feel like I've had lots of treats AND I fill up on the main (and entree) and than don't go for dessert at all :p I also fill up on less food than at home because I tend to eat slower when we are at a restaurant too.... Chiro is great! I have an adjustment every week and would live without them! I also get a massage at least every 2 weeks and acupuncture around once a month along with many other things...

Mother Goose I've spent a lot of time in the gym over the years (when I was addicted to it and looked hot :rofl:) and I can tell you that a personal trainer may be the expert in the theroy of what is best for your body to loose weight and tone up BUT you are the expert on your body... Don't let them push you beyond your limits, you're right, who can afford an injury... Than the weight loss journey will be even slower.

JBM That is a great weight loss of 700g!

AFM I am still totally slack! Still full of good intentions... You girls are very inspiring so thankyou! I will be doing a workout on Friday, Sat, Sun & Monday and I think I will try to do at least 'something' every day even if it's just a 15min walk on the treadmil... They say that if you do something for 21 days in a row it is then a habit! so :crossfingers:

Just a quickie today - feel like crap again.

On a good note though, I went for a 2 hr walk on Wednesday plus another 20 mins in the arvo but at a much slower pace as I had a 2 yr old walking along side me. All good though.

JBM - oh that lady sounds nasty! Good on you for not paying and yes sometimes the devil you know is the better one in terms of your old PT.

cherished1 - 21 days in a row!!!!!!! Oh dear, I have many 21 days to go at this stage. lol

well it was too good to be true, i gained 200g this week, so still a loss of 500g over last 2 weeks. i am still not well, had runny nose all week, so sore from blowing and wiping, i have dry cracked skin on end of nose. yuk.
i have been too tired to really do any good eating, but had a salad yesterday for lunch and was very proud of that.
try to get back on track a bit next week.
i don't like feeling yuk !. no ones does i am sure

Oh JBM - I'm so sorry you're not well. 500g in 2 weeks is still ace though hon! I can only dream of that at the moment! I've been stable for 2 weeks - no gain and no loss. D is miffed. He keeps at me about my diet, but, the reality is, even though I can still make improvements - it is a million times better than it was so I SHOULD be losing weight! Have to try and step up the cardio...

Vix - well done on the walking!

Cherish - I think your theory about doing something for 21 days becoming habit is true. When I started this journey, I loathed getting on the treadmill at home, going for walks with DD and DH. NOW, I have worked it into my daily life and even look for chances to be able to do things like going for walks with DD, how to get more exercise in. I still can't believe it!

As for me, I am frustrated at my lack of weight loss. Although my clothes are loser and I can fit into a particular pair of jeans better :) I'm still struggling with certain things at PT and still can't get into the gym. But I've discussed some stuff with trainer and feel positive things will progress now... so long as I can get past some of my injuries. At the moment, it is my hip and pelvis. I think that it is my muscles getting used to the changes one at a time... hopefully I'll be back on track soon.

i am still sick and off to the docs today, supposed to be at school and work today but looks like none at the moment.
i was good yesterday.
2 boil eggs breakfast

carrot sticks morning tea break

chicken breast and sald for lunch

2 x rissoles, small rice and sm vegies,( carrot and sweet potato)

that was it for the day.
had water only.
and walked into school and back whick was 25 min walk return.

hope i have a good week and feel better soon. nose stopped running, thats one good thing.

I have been going to the gym 4 times a week.
40 minutes of cardio. free weights.
And cut my poritions in half. I eat half of everything i take and throw the rest out or save it for later thay day.
5 small meals a day is the best weight loss tool for me.

Not a good start to my first week of the 12 week chllenge....11 more to make an improvement!

not sure what happened last night or rather this morning at 1.30am.....woke up and began tossing and turning and thought I had might as well get up and go to the bathroom.As soonas I sat down I got the worst belly pains for about 10 minutes on and off (3 times) and lets just say..I am more than likey a kilo lighter! lol Weird. Dinner did not affect anyone else so not sure....have been having salads every day for lunch...wonder if that is it although I used to eat salads religiously....mmmmmmm?

Well I have a 2 yr old wanting me to play with him...

i can't wait to get serious about weight loss, i am so unhappy with the way i look ATM and i am sick of feeling so sick. got til fri off work and school and all up 2 weeks off for me. but i havn't been right since i was sick at easter time and thats 5 weeks ago ?!

but today i have been good witrh eating and big thing this week is i am going to try to only have bread for 3 days. thats 3 slices of bread this week.

I'm doing ok. Ate badly the week of my birthday and thhink I put about 1Kg back on... but then AF hit with a vengence (one of the worst I've had for a while) so maybe it was that... but haven't weighed myself this week... I've had some success with the gym (those reading my blog will know about that) but have also had some set backs. I seem to keep sggrevating old injuries - I know that will settle down with time. Otherwise, my weight seems to be coming off slowly and steadily (which is the best way for it to stay off) and am actually enjoying my treadmill time at home :dance:.

I'm struggling at the moment girls. I'm out with another injury - rather bad this time. Have had 2 days off work, Osteo doesn't want me working tomorrow but I kinda have to... No more PT for a bit - she wants me to stop altogether... Hope you're all having better luck than I am.

I have lost weight several times over the years and I have concluded that the ONLY way to safely keep weight off and be HEALTHY is to just eat well and healthy and to exercise like what you have been doing .... HOWEVER I have also lost weight by calorie counting and I lost weight at a steady 500g per week. I don't agree with calorie counting anymore but if I was on a roll and had been loosing weight ect and I didn't want to be sitting out completley I would start calorie counting again just to make sure I didn't put on any weight and I continued to loose even while sitting on my bum.. ;) HTH

My name is peanutter (what? of course it is!!) and I've been TTC since 1 September 2008, and I have been trying to lose weight since the age of 6.

My weight at its lowest was 62kgs in year 12, but I was unhealthy and very stressed and had glandular fever.

My last healthy-ish weight was more like 80. That sounds like a lot, particularly for my height (160) but atm I'm around 100kgs and a size 14-16. So the plan is (and has been for a while!) to get to 80, and get a Drs opinion as to whether I can healthily loose more.

I'd got down to low 80s from 109kgs over about 3 years, but this year I've started studying and working, and the weight has crept back on, and the last 10 kgs have lept on over the past 6 or so weeks because I've been comfort eating due to exam stress and TTC blues ...

So hi! That's me! And I'm looking forward to losing weight with you other ladies over the next few months... and hopefully getting pg too!

I'm introducing myself now, so that after my exam (this coming Monday) when I have no excuses, I've already taken this step, and so have to be accountable to the decision...

welcome peanutter: good to have some goals, and sometimes i think the whole BMI thing is a bit ambiguous.
what if you're havy boned ?or a small frame, they need to take these things into consideration too. but only you know where you are comfortable and you can set your goals to that.

Welcome peanutter. I agree with JBM, don't focus on the BMI too much - it is only a guide. I loath the BMI. I know professional soldiers who have less than 1% fat and have failed medical's due to their weight (all muscle) kicking them into the obese category on the BMI :rolleyes:. If you feel healthy at 80Kg, then that is what you should aim for.

JBM - me too hon! Lets sit on the :cold: couch together. I sent a friend a message the other day saying the flu is a great weight loss method :rofl: I've barely eaten a thing although have slightly got appetite back today. I have done nothing but sleep, drink water (and OJ), pee, and sweat. I seriously drank about 6L of water and 4 tall glasses OJ yesterday... but probably sweated it all out with the fevers. My whole body feels like I've been clobbered with a piece of 10x4 starting at the top, working down, then up, then down, then up. My accessory muscles caine. I have no energy - even having a shower drains me. Cancelled training I was suppose to have yesterday. Hoping I'll be ok for a light session Fri but doubt it. But can I just say, that being this sick has remotivated me to lose weight? For those following my blog, you'll know I've been struggling a bit lately - but seem to have refocused now! I don't want to get this sick again ever! So def taking much better care of myself from now on!!!!

I completely agree - BMI is beyond useless.

I went to a dietician at my old gym, and in the initial consultation, we did my height and weight measurements, and then flicked to the good old BMI. At the time, I was 161cms tall, and 109 kilos, so I wasn't actually on the graph that she had (ie: too heavy even for the "morbidly obese" category - while I was around a size 18-20, which I know is pretty bad, but not ridiculous (my mother is around size 28 and she's lost weight).

Anyway, the dietician looked quite surprised, and says, "Hmm, you're not in any of the categories. You must be dead."

Not happy, Jan. Not funny, not amusing.

So I didn't go back. I focussed on exercise - initially 3 times per week, then trying to get it up to 6 (3 in the gym, 3 at home or outside). That's gone down to nothing at the moment ...

DH is also studying at the moment - we both have exams, and he's just as bad a comfort eater as I am. Different foods, but equally unhealthy ...

We now own a cross-trainer and an exercise bike, and they're in front of the TV so I have no excuse.

There's lots of healthy things I like to eat, I drink at least 2L of water a day, I like to cook, and I know that baby will be more healthy the more healthy I am, so here we go!!

Over the years, I've tried many things to lose weight but the one sure fire way to lose weight is to combine healthy eating, appropriate portion sizes, and exercise.

It is definately hard to balance everything in life - I struggled to balance work and study and exercise. But it is about making time and prioritising things. Even now it can be a struggle but it is now a part of my daily routine and I get very cranky if I have to deviate from it!!! I also find that regular exercise gives me more energy and a clearer mind to focus on the things I need to do. It didn't happen immediately, it took a good month or so to reach that point; but having done it before, I knew it would happen and stuck with it.

Someone here on BB shared some wise words with me when I started my weightloss journey. They told me that the first 6 weeks are the hardest. And they were. My God were they hard. But now, although training is still hard (I've been plagued by one injury after another and illness), I enjoy it. I find it much easier. Especially working with a personal trainer I trust and who doesn't let me lose sight of my goals.

YAY peanutter you found us! So happy I am sharing this and ttc with you :p You have quite a story.... I have already shared mine here when I first joined after loosing #1. I guess this is really the heaviest I remember being and I'm 163cm and also around a 14 and now creeping into a 16 in some brands. I have always been conscious of my weight as all of my family would be well and truly over 100kg. I guess the most upsetting thing about this year is that I had managed to remain pretty stable about the 65kg mark up until getting pg and now I have gone way beyond that 72 in 5 months and I don't even have a baby to show for it :( BUT no poor me attitude anymore... I am at least getting back down to 65 before I get back into charting and seriously ttc...

Well today I started the low carb thing... I'm not 'completley' cutting them out, I'm just cutting them down. I know it's not really the way to go but it does work and once I have lost a bit of weight I will add more carbs again to my diet when I am lifting heavier weights etc. dh will be gone every night untill next Thursday so it's the perfet time to cook different meals, he will be home during the day but we often eat a different lunch anyway so it's the perfect timing :)

Has anyone had their pereiod brought on by a low carb diet? I googled it and it seems it can happen BUT I only did it for 1 day (yesterday) and now I am bleedign heavily again???? I had the mc last mon but the bleediing had stopped by sat.... So I don't know if it's from the mc or low carb, can anyone help???

The dr said that if the bleeding didnt' stop that it could mean I will need a D&C however it did stop for 3.5 days so I dont' think it is from the mc....??

I am currently doing the 12 week BB challenge (2nd one this year for me) but after the last one I struggled to keep it off. So I am posting in here now so that when this one finishes in a few weeks I will have somewhere to go. My story:
At Xmas I was 86kg - the heaviest I have 'naturally' been (e.g. without being pregnant). I think I put on 10kg within the year. Since then I have dropped to 77kg (weighed last Monday). My goal is 60kg as that was when I was at my fittest and healthiest - although I was also in a really active job.
Although I have dropped large amounts of weight before it has always been due to external circumstances eg. new, active job or living in Asia. This time it has all been just due to my own work and decisions so I am proud of myself. But need to keep up the momentum. Thanks for having me here!

I have put o MORE weight :( 500 grams :doh:

So I decided today that I will just need to do what I know works and that is count calories! So I've got my diary out and I've done my workout this morning. I plan to tidy up the house and than cook up a few meals to put in the freezer... Those prepared meals are lifesavers when I can't be bothered cooking and I know they are calorie counted!

I really feel like crap so I :pray: that I will keep strong and loose that weight!

Oh honey :hug: hang in there. You know there are always ups and downs. It is still early days - give it time. I applaud you for having already worked out today and for getting back in to calorie counting. Calorie counting is not something I've ever been good at so just don't bother. I just use exercise and sensible eating... most of the time ;)

I haven't weighed myself recently - not been at work. I might weigh myself tomorrow... except I just realised the scales I use will have gone because of the reno's! :doh: Oh well. there is another set.

I'm feeling sore today after PT on Fri. Back, bicep, shoulder. I hate my PT right now. I'm in such a negative spot right now.
