Hi girls,
Well done to everyone who has lost some weight! and to those who are still trying too. I have had a pretty good week so far. Bub and I went to the movies this morning with my mothers group which was fun.
I am going to the gym this afternoon to do a step class. Feeling tired but I know I will feel great afterwards. It is hard with a baby getting to the gym at times. I often spend my whole class stessing that she is crying in the childcare. When I get there though she is fine (most of the time).
Have a good night everyone. I am going to try my best to cook veges tonight!!
-
Oh Veronica... I was hoping you were going to say YES!!! :( LOL
Congratulations to all of you who've had a loss. :confetti:
I think I'm back to my original start weight (not that I've been game enough to weigh myself). I've had a full on couple weeks and my excercise has gone to almost nothing! Will get back on track next week!

Hi all...well done on everyone's achievements so far, you are all an inspiration.
Was hoping that i can join too please?
My DD is 8 months old next week and I am still 12kgs over my pre pregnancy weight and I am feeling really uncomfortable with my current weight. I am currently 92kgs. My goal weight is 70kgs which would put me at the higher end of my healthy weight range. I have started to count points again as lost 8kgs prior to falling pregnant doing this. My biggest problem is lack of self control and exercise. I can't justify spending money on a gym membership until i go back to work so i am trying to walk as much as i can and watching what i eat. I was breastfeeding but now my DD only takes the first feed from me and the rest is bottles of formula, breastfeeding didn't help me lose any weight at all which i was really dissapointed with as i was relying on this. Hoping that if I check in with all of you inspirational people each week that i won't play up and will stick to this as i am sick and tired of being in tears over my weight. Thanks.
-
Welcome Rachel!
I hear you on being disapointed that bfing did absolutely zero for your weight  I felt the same!! I had this picture in my mind that after three months of bfing I will me at my pre-pg weight, or even lower! Well 9 months after birth I am FINALLY there and it has bugger-all to do with b'fing :lol Just hard work, tears and tantrums and a DH with big brass b@lls :cryinglaugh: (I get really b!tchy when I am told that I can't have that chocolate!! )
This is a great thread to keep motivated. Well done for trying to walk as much as possible.
Good luck !
-
Hi Rachel!
I don't have a gym membership either and my DD#2 can't BF. I have controlled portion sizes and do as much exercise as I can at home and do a walk regularly. I also go to a pg & pn excercise class with my physio on Mondays. C if ur hossy does something similar.

HI everyone,
I've struggled with my weight forever. This year I found the key. I feel sooo stupid because it is so simple. When I was 7 weeks pregnant I found that I had diabetes. I had to modify my diet of course but not as dramatically as you might think. Basically it's all about portion control. I was eating reasonably healthy but just having too much of a good thing.
Here is the rule I now live by; half my plate is vegies/salad, quarter for protein (sometimes a little more cause I'm pregnant) and quarter for carbs. I eat 5/6 times a day. B/fast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner, sometimes supper. I was hungry when I first had to eat like this but my stomach has definately shrunk and my sugar cravings are non-existant, though I am currently on insulin so this helps.
My starting weight was 105kg, it's now 99kg and I'm 21 weeks with a big baby. My goal is to continue to eat healthy and keep moving towards a healthy baby and an insulin free life.
Favourite healthy choices are: Yoplait No fat yoghurt, Healthy Choice Twin Packs, Vitaweets, porridge. What are yours?

Hi all,
Ruth you are doing a great job!! Slow and steady is the best way. Have you spoken to your GP about TTC and wanting to loose weight etc. If your anxious maybe you should talk to someone. Because while your weight is coming off slowly you are still increasing your fitness level and there must be bonuses in that.
:clap::clap:Well done allison,
Veronica, did you ever do a test to double check the UTD theory??
Rachel, of course you can join. This is open to everyone.
Lol nadine, I have had some success with loosing weight while breast feeding. I'm finding it easier to loose weight now than I did before PG. But I have also fallen off the wagon a bit too. I got to stop the treats. If I ate healthy I'd definitely back at pre preg weight by now.
Teach mum well done. I'm currently wanting to get back to pre preg weight so I can have it for a little while before having another bub. I wish I had been as well behaved as you are being while I was pg.
-
I'm doing what u r doing Teachmum! I'm not diabetic but there is a history of type2 diabetes in my family. My goal is to avoid that and get back to my pre wedding weight before conceiving #3.
I was naughty and jumped on the scales again this morning. 70.2!! hopefully I can crack the 69ers on tuesday!!!

Hi guys,
How are we all going? Try to be self-controlled on the weekend! Remember that Monday is weigh-in day!
So I just looked at one of my "goals and plans" documents, and it says that I was aiming to be 88kg by 30/12/2007. What do you reckon? Doable? Should I put in a few hard weeks or is it unrealistic, esp. given the rate I lose weight. I think I'm scared of trying and then failing...
My Dr. friend swears by a low Gyclaemic-load diet, so I'm looking into that. Today was a shocker so far: allbran + brown sugar + skim milk, white bread + peanut butter, coffee, 1 piece homemade lasange, 600ml Rush and it's only 2pm! We are going over to my in-laws for dinners, so I will restrain myself to meat and vege - no breads or cheese for me.
Anyway, thanks everyone for your support and advice - it makes a difference!
PS Kungfubecca - re going to the Dr, did you mean to get help with my weight loss or my anxiety or preconception stuff?
-
Hello ladies,
Well some of us are doing well, good on you!! :D
Welcome to Rachel and Teachmum, I hope we can give you both the motivation and encouragement you need! I find it a great thing to be able to document what I'm doing and be a bit accountable for it!
Teachmum, I like to eat small one serve size packs of dried fruits, especially when I need a good sugar hit, and diet jelly. If you can't tell I have a very sweet tooth!
Ali, you're well on the way to being 69kg's, woohooo!! Congratulations
Ruth, what do you weigh now? If we consider there's about 8wks until the 30/12, and you could lose0.5-1kg a week, I guess you could realistically lose about 6kg's? I wouldn't really aim to lose any more than that though as it is too much too fast, IYKWIM? Good luck!
Well I have been sooo good in the past week. I have been to the gym, and if not to the gym, I have walked for 45mins a day. Except for today as it is raining here and I walk to the gym with DD, so I couldn't go :(. I have been eating really well too. Today I had a coffee, watermelon and rockmelon for breaky, some dried fruit, a salad with crackers for lunch, a muesli bar and skim milk for a snack and for dinner I'm having beef teryaki and rice noodles (homemade) as well as lots of water during the day. *And, no I'm not bf anymore ;)* Woohoo, I'm looking forward to a good loss this coming week....fingers crossed anyway....
-
Hi everyone, thanks for the supportive words and welcome. So far i think i am doing really well just have to keep it going. Although did have a chocollo from wendies today, but other than that i had a great day. Here's for a great weekend too huh. So is it on Monday that we are supposed to weigh in and document our loss/gain?
thanks again.
-
Becca, strange, but I also feel as if it's easier now (after pg) than before to lose weight. Wonder if having a little angel to tend to and not having time to sit down have anything to do with that? Hmmmm, something to ponder over the weekend :p
*patting myself on shoulder* I was in the gym the whole week!!! Except for Thuesday when cleaning house was my gym - and boy did I sweat!! I loved it, I could not go to the toilet for almost two days, because it was to low and my legs did not want to bend like that :cryinglaugh: DH was wetting himself, because I had to steady myself against the wall and push on the rim to stand up!!! Don't even ask how I gave dd a bath - pathetic!! I over did myself a bit  but I loved every second and by now I am just fine. Looking forward to next week.
Good luck for the weekend ladies!!! Just repeat this over and over
I am in control of what I put in my mouth, I am in control of what I put in my mouth!!
-
Hopefully I will b @ my goal by my birthday! only 12 kg to go!
-
Nadine216, I remember that feeling except I was sitting on the toilet and couldn't get up! Keep going it gets easier. The gym can be quite addictive once you get past that pain barrier. Unfortunately it's a much easier addiction to kick that chocolate lol
-
 teachmum!! I am 10000000 time better already. My mucsle heals very quickly (thank heavens) and by yesterday I was ok. Just a bit sore when I have to stand up from the floor.
I LOVE the gym - got hooked about two years ago and has never looked back. I gym till a month before my c/s, but after dd it's been hard getting time (and strenght  ) to get back, but I am on a roll now! I actually like a little bit of pain  it makes me feel as if I have really worked and reminds me that I am trying to be healthy.
And if only that habit was as easy ... !!
-
Hi! Hope everyone had a great weekend. Had a bit of a norty day yesterday, went to a family friends house for dinner and she served some fried foods, they were so yummy though but obviously well and truly blew my points (especially along with the chocolate and strawberry baskets). I weighed myself today only because I had originally weighed myself last sunday. I lost 2kgs! Went from 93kgs to 91kgs, so very happy with that.
Nadine, I wish I had your enthusiasm for the gym!
Hmmm..I wish that habit was easy to break too!
-
Morning girls.
Weighed myself this morning and I am 76.3kg so that is a 0.3 loss. Not as much as I would like but at least it is something! I am feeling so tired today as my 5 month old bub has decided to start waking up 3 times at night. I am going to make myself go to a pump class though. Hopefully that will make me feel better.
Nadine, I am loving the gym also especially the classes. They are motivating and you feel so good afterwards!
Keep up the good work girls!
-
HI girls, well I have had another small loss this week :) better than nothing. More importantly, I have been exercising and eating well.Though yesterday was a naughty day. It was our friends sons 1st bithday so I let myself go. But not too badly, just enough to satisfy. I'm not good at depriving myself when others are indulging!
Rachel, a 2kg loss, congratulations!! You must feel pretty proud :D
Firstbub, I have only been having small losses too, it is better than nothing and much better than putting on weight! Stick at it, I'm sure it will pay off soon.....at least that's what I'm hoping will happen for me!
Good luck to everyone else, hopefully it's a productive week for us all.
-
just weighed myself and I'm 79.8 - so a loss of 1kg woohooooo and I've broken the 80kg finally yay
good luck to everyone else and all those 0.3 losses add up!!!!
Mel

Good Morning.
new weight is now 67.3 kg's loss of 200gm. I would have lost more but I was really bad yesterday (I was 66.9 yesterday morning)
Ruth, I meant going to the doc, as a whole package. Your doc might be able to help lift some of your anxieties and look at your goals, how realistic they are and maybe even re-assure you that while you might be seeing slow weight loss in numbers the overall fitness you are achieving along the way is equally as important. It sounds to me that your exercising really well and even if weight loss is slow you are surely benefiting well from the exercise.
lol Nadine, I am in control of what I put in my mouth and I enjoyed every naughty morsel of it. I really need more self control on Sundays
allison, I'm sure you will be.
Rachel, well done on the loss.:clap:
well done first bub, 300gm is a good loss. don't forget sleep deprivation can actually slow your weight loss, so you haven't done anything wrong if it slows.
Kellie, well done on your loss.
Mel well done on your 1kg loss and yay for breaking through that 80 barrier.
-
Thanks for your kind words, it really does help keep on track.
Well done on everyones loss, any loss is better than nothing and it definitely does add up.
-
Weighing in tomorrow :hears scary music: really hoping i'm under 70. congrats to all losers!
-
:( I picked up 600g!
WW Weight - 71.4kg
But I am not surprised  We had a powerfailure the WHOLE of yesterday and were muching on chips and dips and biltong and chocolats the whole day long!! And seeing that I am back in full swing at the gym, my mind told me that I can get away with murder - silly mind :)
lol Rachel - I did not like exercise one bit (I actually HATE jogging), but it got hold of me in 2005, never looked back!! It takes a while to really appreciate, but once you are in that groove it really is like firstbub said, it make you feel gooooood.
Bec, Sundays are my week point to - being in a lazy mood and not wanting to make something healthy, take-away is always just a phone call away!
ALL YOU GUYS LOST SOMETHING!!!! Oh my, that is fantastic. Congratulations everyone!!!
PS. my goal for the week is to lose 1.6kg - then I am on my 10% weight loss target!!!!
-
just had a thought, i may not have good numbers this week bcoz of my knee. i still have hope tho.
-
hey everyone!!
I am feeling verrrrrrrrrrrry tired tonight. I did BodyStep tonight and put on an extra step and I am going to be soo sore tomorrow!! But the pain will be worth it when my thighs and butt are steel!! LOL
Weight this morning was 79.2kg
I Love watching the weight come off!! Cant believe that I am going to be below 79kg soon!! My loss from last week was 0.5kg
I hope I am going to be 76kg or LESS by my wedding!!
Ali - you never know!! If you have been eating healthy you could have a loss. Good Luck!
Nadine - good luck with your weight loss for this week. I am hoping for more than 0.5kg loss this week too!! Going to work realllll hard, I had my treat over the week (cake) so hopefully that will keep my sweet craving away for a while..
Mel - what a great loss!! Feels good to break to 80kg mark hey!
YAY to everyone who had losses!
Im knackered - going to bed
-
I fell of the wagon, not dieting at the moment, my weight is 98.5kg. Well at least i havent crept back up over the 100kg mark. So even tho i have been a little naughty i have been eating heaps less than i normally do so i have cut down my cravings and appetite a bit with the soup diet and havent put any weight back on. Even lost 100gm probably more seen as how i only remembered the weigh in tonight at 11.50pm and went and weighed myself now. Need to be motivated to get back into it.
-
Well it is a very good morning girls! I broke the 70 mark!!!!:dance::dance:
Weighed in this morning at 69.9 :dance::dance:
that's 700g off!
-
Woohoo Ali!! well done, its great breaking those marks!
-
WOOOHOOO Ali!!!! Congratulations, all of your hard work is paying off!
I can't wait until I can make that post too! Still a looong way for me to go though, but I have been there before and I WILL make it there again!
-

Weight as of 07/11/2007: 85.8kg
Ideal Weight: 60-66kg
Height: 165cm
Lost: 200g
Ugh thats depressing!! I have gone up and down in weight for weeks. AF is also due today or tomorrow so I might have some extra weight at the moment, I do tend to retain alot of fluid. At least I'm hoping that's what is going on!! Oh well I will have to perservere.....
-
kellie it is only a plateu. u will get off it if u don't give up.
-
I've been bad so have felt guilty posting here :( But the block of chocky is almost gone, and I've stocked up on fruit - nectarines and mangoes, apple and tonight I'm heading to the organic grocer.
Revisitng ...
Name: Kaz (kazbah)
Start Weight: 75kg
Current Weight: 74kg
Goal Weight: 64kg
Notes: 87 days to lose 10kg? Can I do it? Possibly!
(especially if I don't eat chips, do drink lots of water and eat veggies)
-
remember, if u dont buy junk food, u can't eat it. i only buy 1 little bit per week like a mars bar or something. no mummy size chocolate blocks @ my house!
-
Trev bought a double-pack of blocks (1kg in total) and a pack of old gold! - which is my fave. But I just resisted the urge - I felt like choc, and had a nectarine instead.
-
Thanks, Ali, I just seem to have been on this plateau for weeks now, going between 86 and 87kg....don't worry I'm not giving up, I can't stand the sight of myself, so there's no giving up!!
Kaz, you're a better woman than me!! If there's a hint of chocolate in my house, it is gone in a second!! Hence the reason why I only buy it if I REALLY want it. And like Ali, I only ever buy a small bar, never a big block or I'll hoover that up too....I think I have a problem... "Hi I'm Kellie and I'm a chocaholic...."
-
if stephen brings me junk i throw it out. he doesn't bother any more.
-
Oh Veronica well done!!! :confetti:
You can do it!!!
Celsie. xoxox
-
Hi all,
Nadine Hugs, I'm sure that 600gm's was temporary and it will fall off this week.
V, good job, I think you will certainly reach your wedding goal. Good job!! How many weeks to go btw??
Two mums hang in there. you would have lost more than 100 I think. I'm sure the soup diet has got you off to a great start, and now the weather is really starting to warm up, you can have lots of healthy salads and things. You are doing really well.
Ali, Woo Hoo, great job!! and with your knee and everything. How good does it feel to reach a goal. What will power you have with the junk.
Kaz, at 1gk every 7 days you can do it!!
Start Weight: 70kg
Current Weight: 67.3kg
Goal Weight: 60kg
Notes: total of 2.7kg's I really could be doing better than this. Gotta stop eating junk, and start exercising more. Xavier has decided he's not overly fond of laying down in the pram much anymore, so this afternoon I hope to try walking with him sitting up more.
