*sob* I am falling off the wagon!!!!!!!!! HELP ME!!!!!
thanks, bec - but at the rate I am going, dont count on it :(
I am having a week from hell, and are just stuffing myself to get me feeling a bit better. Every morning I am getting up thinking - TODAY, you silly little girl, is the day that you DON'T eat everything you see.
And before you know it, I am munching away on rusks!! Damn this boss of mine that thinks the way to a woman's heart is throught rusks *sigh*
So far today I had: two wheat biscuts with 2% milk, Pink cereal with 2% milk (that makes breakfast twice!!) and just finished a toasted ham, cheese and tomato sandwitch with a pineapple water. That does not sound to bad thought ... hmmm. Maybe just a salad for dinner? or some pasta and tomato-base sause? Ohhh that does sound good.
Just feeling bloated, because AF is due on Monday and I have this enormous sweet cravings just before AF.
*thinking if chopping off hands would do any good, maybe tie behind back*
Maybe mel, you can speed-post some of that tummy virus for me :cryinglaugh: Did that just sound desperate???????
-
OOHHH Nadine, I know how you feel with the sweet cravings......mine are the worst and unfortunately, I have given the past two days. Last night DH brought me a block of chocky, which I devoured- all of it at once!! The night before it was ice cream. Hopefully AF rears her ugly head soo so my cravings disappear....
-
Thanks Kellieem. I think it was Bec that said to try orange juice - I did, but I don't think its really "diet-friendly" drinking 2lt of the stuff in one day  even if there are no added sugar.
I HAVE to eat like the bare minimum for the next 8 days!! I am doing a crash diet - I know it's wrong, but this is an emergency. Our bussines was nominated to maybe receive an award on the 17th and we have to go to the function and it's a BLACK TIE. :o I have to wear a evening gown!!!!
So far today: All Bran and 2% Milk, Blackcurrent Ice Tea (500ml) and water, water, water
Lunch will be fruit salad and fat free youghurt - Orange for snack at about 4pm and dinner is curry and rice (very, very small portion) and some salad and then more water, water and water!!!
I want to drop 2 kg before that evening!!!!
Looking forward to picking out a dress thought.
-
R u eating a healthy snack between each meal? this will hep to speed up your metabolism. I also chew gum to satisfy the need to chew.
-
 I had a medium portion of curry and rice AND A MAGNUM ICE CREAM - that was yummo!!!!
I try to eat a fruit in between meals, so yes, I am snacking healthy, thanks Ali. I used to chew gum, but I would get so caught up in what I am doing that I just chew and chew and chew and then when I get into bed late a night - my jaws hurt!! So I kicked the habit. I am drinking water to keep my tummy full.
So far today: All Bran and 2% milk, Litichi water, Chicken snitzel (I know, it was sauce free and the size of my palm) and salad and like 8 hot chips - having two peaches for snack and dinner - oven baked fish and chips and salad.
My scale actually told me I am lighter this morning, but I don't trust him - he is a scaly little bugger
AND A BIG WOO HOO - I fit into my sister's matric dress!!!!!!! So if I don't get anything else, I have that!
-
Nadine, If u cheat, don't give up on the rest of the day. every cheat gets a new start immediately after it and then it doesn't matter so much. good on u for not putting sauce on the schnitty.
-
Yesterday walked to our MG meeting and today my gluts are telling me about it!
Pip is great for snacking - I have a nectarine and he wants some, same with the watermelon - its actually very fun (atm) to eat fruit!
-
hey everyone!!
I hope everyone is going well... I have kinda fallen off the band wagon this week!!! I had been soooo good for about 6 weeks so I decided to have some ice cream one night and I have been having ice cream every night since then!! ahhh.. back on the wagon tho!!
Not sure how much my weight loss will be... on wednesday or thursday it was down to 78.2 but this morning it was 78.6kg.. So dunno!! Feel a bit flu-ey again today, been getting sick quite a bit lately... But a little loss is still something!!
Hope everyone is having an active weekend :D
-
Ngala - not sure which diet etc you're taking, but if you're after ice-cream, get the mini-Weiss bars - they're low in fat and around 350kJ which isn't too bad.
-
Ngala, 6 weeks is the usual time to fall of the wagon. Just get right back on it and the weight will keep leaving. be strong hun! (Wow, that book was right about the 6 week mark! thats when I fell off the wagon!)
-
ok, I'm taking the plunge and joining in here. I need to get down to about 90kg before we start IVF, but before that we're probably going to the UK for 3-4 months, so I need to drop weight before we go (in April/May 08). I'm currently a size 20 and I'd like to be a size 16 by the time we go and a 14 for when we start IVF.
I watch what I eat, don't eat processed foods - mainly because I have a canola intolerance and most processed foods put "vegetable oil" in the ingredients so I've got no idea if it is canola or not. I do 1 hour of burlesque stripping/dance a week and have just started doing the warm-up exercises (about 30 mins worth) every day. I walk 5-15 mins each way to the bus in the morning/afternoon most days - but I have had 2 weeks sick in bed and I drove to work all last week, but I still did burlesque classes during that time. I'm not into snacky foods (like crisps), but I do graze during the day. If I have a craving for chocolate or ice cream or stuff like that then I will have some. I know if I'm not having enough fats in my diet then I start to crave pork crackling.
So I'm here, taking my first steps to get this weight off.
-
hi schaz!!
sounds like u need to get on top of some fat cravings!! pork crackling does not control u hun!! WTG on the exercise!
My plate consists of 1/4 meat 1/4 carbs 1/2 veg. the meat is always lean and about the size of my palm. find out if olive oil comes in a spray, thay way u wont use very much when cooking.
-
Ali - I don't have the pork crackling - I just know that if I'm craving it then I need to increase my fat intake, same as if my calves start to cramp then I need to put a bit more salt into my diet - but I'm not having that problem since I switched to celtic salt (which is salt with the minerals that are supposed to be there still there - not processed out if like salt from supermarkets). Also I don't cook with oil, so olive oil spray just sits here at home - I've got some.
And before people ask - we have butter (not margarine) in this house and only drink full-cream milk. Do not tell me to use margarine or to drop down to a low-fat milk, the health benefits for butter and full-cream milk outweigh any supposed benefit from using margarine and low fat milk.
-
Welcome, Shaz and good luck on your journey!! I agree with the benefits of butter and full fat milk (though I drink skim cause I get bloated from full fat milk- maybe an intolerane??...) I can't have butter in the house too often, or I'd eat it in a few days on toast! I luuuurrrve my butter ;). I just don't have any spreads on bread unless I'm having vegemite then I buy some butter... anyway!! Sounds like you have all the tools to a successful weightloss- healthy food, lots of exercise, good attitude towards snacks....
I have been naughty these past few days. It was DH's birthday yesterday so I made him his favorite dinner of roast turkey leg with all the trimmings, as well as a homemade chocky cake. I ate till my tummy hurt :( . Day before that I had some chocolate and wonton soup from the chinese shop. I don't think I will have a loss this week. I hate AF!!! She's the devil she makes me do the wrong thing despite my mind telling me not to!!
Oh well back to it today, I have been eating well today and have done a BIG clean up of the house, including wiping tiles in bathroom/kitchen, mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, changing linen, a million loads of washing...well ok not exactly, but it feels like it after a week of rain in Sydney.
-
i too have butter in my house (hardly use it) and pura boost. pura boost has more calcium that full fat milk and less fat.
-
Ali - but your body needs the fat in the milk to absorb the calcium - calcium isn't absorbed properly into the body unless it is attached to the fat particles in milk, you do get some absorption but not as much as you would if you drank full cream.
I don't buy our milk from supermarkets, I go to the organic grocer and get milk that has neither been homogenised or pasteurised.
Oh and just to let you know I'm studying - doing my Bachelor of Health Science (after a change from pure science with a double major in chemistry and biomedical).
Kellie - thank you for the welcome.
-
Hmmm interesting! spose i should switch back! GL with ur studies Schaz!
Ok I have been very naughty. I ate all but 1 slice of hawaiian pizza and half a garlic bread 4 tea. getting right back on that horse now.
-
hey everyone
Just a quick one from me as I am running out the door to get to the gym before it hit 39 degrees today!!
Today's morning weight is: 77.7kg!!!!
So I lost weight even tho I had ice cream nearly every night!!
YAY!!
I got my wedding dress fitting on Friday. I cant wait to see how it looks and fits on me!
-
Afternoon girls,
I weighed myself this morning and I am now 75.7kg so it is a loss since last week. YAY!! Only 5.7 to go until I get to my pre pregnancy weight. I haven't been eating too badly but breastfeeding is still making me hungry all the time!
Ngala: Congrats on your weight loss and good luck with your wedding dress fitting.
I went to the gym this morning and did 20 minutes on the cross trainer and 20 minutes on the treadmill so I am feeling tired but good! Just a question how often do you all exercise for in a week?
Me 28 DH 27
Ella 5 months and 2 weeks
-
Hi all,
67.2kg's this week so a 100gm loss.
Firstbub and V great weight loss ladies. V how exciting with your dress, I hope they have to alter it to make it smaller for you ;)
how long now until the wedding??
I've been really naughty lately I really need to get back on the wagon I keep telling myself I will but I haven't been. I have been eating more yogurt though. One of my biggest problems was that I didn't have enough food i could just eat as i don't have time for lengthy preparation, so yogurt it is, oh and sugary drinks, gotta switch to just water for a few weeks again.
Now if I can just kick the biscuit addiction I have going at the moment I'll be right.
Is anyone else finding it's just too hot to go for a walk. Can't afford gyms and we don't have AC at home so I find I'm just sitting on my bum.
Ohh I need motivation so I'm setting myself a mini goal this week and it's to loose 300gms so I can get under 67kg's
Must be strong, Must be strong.
-
Hi Everyone,
I would like to join you in your weight loss journeys. I have a 3.5 week old, 3yo and 4 yo and I have lost 18kg since January. I weigh approx 81.5 first thing in the morning. I had a blowout all weekend - bad food and alcohol, so I am afraid to weigh myself! I have an appointment this arvo at sure slim for their breastfeeding program. Is anyone else trying this?
Bec
-
Gosh it was SO hot in the gym this morning - like a sauna!! I think I sweated out a few kg!! haha
Rebecca - Oh yes I think they will be making it smaller for me!! I have lost 3cm around waist, 5cm around hips and 4cm around thighs! The wedding is in... 34 days!!
Firstbub - I am crazy when it comes to exercise... I spend up to an hour in the gym doing cardio, weights, tummy stuff and then I go to three classes too that got for about 1 hr. Good on you for doing 20mins on the cross trainer!! I only manage 10mins cause I get bored haha
Welcome Rebecca!! I am breastfeeding too and would love to hear what sort of breastfeeding program they have at sure slim. Good luck!
-
Rebecca - try and find something a bit different for exercise. I'm currently learning burlesque (as in the old-school stripping from the 40s - google "Betty Page" and you get the drift - the old "bump'n'grind"), one of the girls in my class is also doing pole dancing.
I loathe the gym nowdays, I get bored too easily. Even classes bore me. Which is why I was looking for something different. I'm hoping to start tribal belly dancing next year - depending on uni timetable.
-
Veronica, wow you have lost heaps in CM's be careful over the next month because you don't want your dress to fall down  when you try it on they will tell you not to loose anymore weight.
schaz, I can't really join any classes I don't have the $$, although I enjoyed our short spate at Latin dancing about a year ago. fingers crossed when i'm back at work i'll be burning more energy. I was planning to joining a mum and bub yoga class after I had bub, but I never got into it. Going to a yoga class is on my to do list once I'm settled back at work, so I can get some core strength and flexibility before TTC #2 then I shouldn't have any trouble continuing once preggers next and fingers crossed it only helps for after #2 is born.
-
Hi, Thanks for the welcome. Cant really tell you much bout the sure slim program, decided not to go with it - they wanted $440 upfront and another $440 in 10 days time! Lots more than I can afford. I am going to go to a weight watcers meeting tonight. I will let you know how i get on. i feel like I really need the support of going to someone regularly to help me lose the weight. What advice do you have for me? What works?
Thanks in advance,
Bec
-
Rebecca - yeh I know hey!! Its lace up at the back so hopefully just by tightening it, it will be OK. I hope that I can go in for the very final fitting in December. I think I will be down to 76kg by then and thats my first goal!
Rebecca - (haha replying to two rebecca's in one post!) OUCH at the cost of it!! Hopefully weight watchers is better. You really have to find what works for you. For me it is going to the gym nearly every day and doing classes and walking the dogs and just eating well. I have cut carbs out of my breakfast and having them for lunch and dinner. I am eating dinner early these days (5pm) so my body has enough time to work the carbs before going to bed at 10pm. I drink heaps of water too. ummm I make sure I dont have any temptations in the cupboard!!
-
hey kungfubecca - i am in bendigo too!
Should catch up!
Bec
-
Hi ladies :) Congratulations on all your losses!!!!! Everyone seem so ... excited!!
Welcom Schaz and Rebecca (how many becca's are there in here now??? I lost count)
:yay: Veronica!!! You lost sooo many cm's - you are going to look drop dead gorgeous in your weddingdress!!
I lost 400g this week - wonder above wonder  So now I am down to 71kg again. Just 5kg to go.
Gone to the gym this morning - Fat Burner class and then Step & Weights. Had almost no sleep last night, so was very tempted to stay in bed, BUT so glad I did not. I am proud of myself for dragging my sorry @$$ to the gym and STAYING for both classes. I might just reward myself :p
We have a function tonight - snacks and drinks - going to eat before I go, so I won't stuff myself there.
Schaz - wondering, could you just not get your calsium from yoghurt and cheese? I drink low fat milk (for three years now) and am so used to it that I can't stomach the full fat milk anymore. Also don't use butter or margerine on bread. But I do love yoghurt and cheese (also low fat)
Bec - Weight Watchers has a wonderfull breastfeeding plan. And the best of all is that you can still eat what you like!! I think you will find their plan easy to follow and LOADS of stuff to eat would not leave you hungry. It's plain and simple. I am currently on WW and I love their structure and support. It works for me. (not breastfeeding anymore)
Well, good luck for the week!!! :fingerscrossed: lots of weight loss on Monday!!!
-
hi all
well i am down to 78.4kg this week which was a huge loss of 1.4kg BUT I had 2 days of the most horrible gastro bug and then ended up with mastitis so I imagine once I can manage to eat normally again some of it will come back - I'm kinda hoping that it doesn't but it will be nice to feel normal again
as far as exercise goes I'm doing a 1 hour walk 3 times a week and then lots of running around after a 4 month old the rest of the week - I think once I go back to work in January my exercise will go up as I have a pretty active job that involves lots of walking
welcome to the new people - good luck in your journeys and congrats to everyone else who has had a loss last week
Mel
-
I am bouncing round the 80kg mark...
With having quit smoking my food intake has increased !!!!!
I need to get my butt into action & start watching what & how much I eat & geting in some exercise... going to look for some walking shoes this week cause my old ones are hurting my legs now... (they are about 10 years old though!!)
Heres hoping for some decreasing of weight real soon!!!
-
lol I think there are about 4 Rebecca's in here
Bec where abouts in Bendigo are you?
-
Hi girls, sorry I forgot to post yesterday, we had a horrible day!
Well as I thought no loss this week, I am still 85.7kg.....af is still around, so I may still be retaining fluid, and I have been eating cr@p every second day. I really think so much of it is psycological! I think AF is here so I should be craving sugar and carbs, so I do....must try to break that habbit.
Congrats to those of you who have lost weight great going, keep on keeping on!
-
Hi everyone. I thought I would join in this as I am keen to lose some weight and get a bit fitter than I am.
My weight stats: about 80kg. My ideal weight is around 60kg (well actually about 52kg but being realistic!). I try to do some walking but the lack of sleep and rainy weather tend to beat me at the moment. I think I eat enough vits and mins but overindulge on the calories. I am hoping to go overseas next year and know that the physical side of that will be tough so really need to pull my finger out and get started.
I thought I would start with three rules - 1. eat breakfast 2. drink enough water 3. do 20 mins of exercise at least 5 times a week (eg walking the dog).
Good to hear everyone elses stories!
-
Also for KungfuRebecca - I read your post about $$ for joining classes (I so hear you). But my local library has loads of exercise dvds which are really good. It is free, I feel like I am in a class and I dont have to go out in public in lycra!!
-
Hi Kufubecca - I am near the Bendigo RSL. How about you? I have some exercise vids here if you want to join me! It is too hard for me to get out for classes with 3 kids and hubby does long hours. I need some exercise buddies!
Probably not going going to go to WW either, I think it will end up being a bit dear also. Got some books here and the net to read up on. Gotta pay the house off and do the renos!!!
Goodluck for your next weight loss everyone.
Bec
-
Righto... I am biting the bullett.. I have brought some togs today (& so did not like what i saw in the mirror)... I am going to my first aqua aerobics class tomorrow..... I will go on mon & wed nights... & work in cross trainer on oposite nights!!!
-
nadine - calcium needs fat particles to be absorbed into the body - for the amount of milk I drink (2-3 cups of coffee + cooking + occasional organic hot chocolate) then drinking full-cream isn't an issue. I do eat organic yoghurt and goat or sheep milk cheese.
Mitch - I've got fitflops - they're from the UK and they're thongs designed to help you tone, correct posture and strengthen core muscles. I also need to buy new shoes for those rare times I do "traditional" exercise. The shoes I've currently got give me enough support for things like using the dancemat for the playstation.
I actually put on weight when I went to weight watchers - even though I'd gone from 4 times a week at the gym to pretty much twice a day (in 6 weeks I lost 5% body fat and dropped 1 dress size but put on 5 kg) - their food combining doesn't work for me - also the amount of processed foods they expect you to eat made me physically sick.
I'm probably going back onto heathpointe - I lost weight easily on that last time - actually I've not put back on the weight I lost from my first round of it and that was nearly 2 years ago.
-
Schaz... those fit flops sound interesting... might have to have a look at those!!!
-
Ok. a day late 4 my weigh in and I am 68.9. I have lost another 1 kg. I am so proud of myself for a complete lifestyle change when it comes to food. had pizza on sunday nite n didn't enjoy it so I am very happy to b enjoying healthy food more that cr@p
