    Hi Nick

I found that after 2 weeks the Duromine took away my hunger completely, so I decided that I would open the capsule and take half, keeping the other half for the next day. By doing this I had a small appetite and my script lasted 6 weeks. SO if you calculate $95 by weeks it doesn't seem sooooo expensive.

    Good luck
I used to sometimes take one every 2nd day to help it last longer..

    Mrs M,

40mg is a big starting dose, I went from 15mg without much loss and now and up to 30mg and finally am losing a kg a week.
Definately take them as soon as you wake. Keep hydrated +++ and increase your activity as best you can this will decrease the wakefullness factor.

If your weight is considered a "chronic condition" by your GP, consider getting them to have to placed on an Enhanced Primary Care Program that allows Medicare to pay for access to dietitians and exercise physiologists. This is the biggest help I am getting as I apparently have to lose up to 17kg. Mrs SB won't know what hit her!!

    Jen,

It's illegal to supply a prescription drug to another or obtain one on behalf of another. It's is also dangerous. Duromine isn't a wonder drug despite it's effects- with a structured diet and exercise program. You need to be assesed as appropriate for it physically. You need the lifestyle modifiers alongside it to for it to work. you need to be assessed as to which dose regime you require.

I'm sure there are reasons why your GP won't put you on the medication. If his approach isn't what you are after, then perhaps finding someone who is more sympathetic.

    Good luck

I used them last year so I could trim down for my wedding.

They totally worked!! Prob was that my Dr should not have given them to me considering was def within my healthy weight range, so I ended up losing too much weight!! I lost 12kgs in about 3.5 months. I had no problems sleeping and wasn't really crankier than usual but I was really stressed with the wedding so don't know if that was made worse by duromine or not.

I was on the 25mg (Think that's what it was!) and if I ever have problems losing weight will DEF use them again cause I know they work!!! After I stopped using them I slowly gained weight again... not rapidly and it was needed weight!! So you do need to be sure to have a plan for after you stop taking it! It helps to budge the weight but it's up to you to keep it off!!
