Duromine - What side effects have you experienced?
I was just reading through Oshani's thread about positive experiences on Duromine and WOW some of the weight loss stories in there are amazing.
Just wondering what the bad side effects are that everyone was alluding to?
I once took Xenical when it first came out and I found that if you ate the wrong foods you literally leaked oil out of your rectum ..... not nice
Not saying that I plan to go on anything like this - but I have put on a LOT of weight with this pregnancy and it would be interesting to see if there is something like this that can give me a head start in the weightloss department combined with exercise and healthy eating.
Any experiences you would like to share would be appreciated
I found that thread interesting as well. It is really hard to talk about duromine in a positive way as you know that what it is doing to your body is just wrong.
It is a drug- it is basically speed. So if you think about it, you are on speed every day and just as people who do take speed and go out clubbing, etc, you do lose touch with the world and become spaced out a bit.
I couldnt sleep (no matter how early in the day I took them - usually took one about 5am as I was already awake).
Something I just remembered as well was that I couldnt read properly!!! I know that sounds strange but everything became blurry. To read what i am typing now I would have had to shiut my eyes take a massive deep breath of oxygen and then open my eyes to see the words on the computer.
Another bad experience that I remember was a day that I went outside for a run (it was quite a hot day but I was invinsible as I had so much energy on duromine). I was running around different neighbourhood streets in the middle of the day and I remember stopping as I had the most incredible heart pulpitations, I remember searching from house to house looking for a tap in a massive panic and then collapsing under the one bit of shade that I could find. It was a scary day and I stopped taking duromine after that day.
I then put all the weight back on after stopping duromine as I couldnt exercise as I was sooooooo tired (I probably hadnt slept in months) and then i just wanted to eat.
If you take it properly (eat healthy meals), exercise regularly then it is great but there are some serious side effects.
One of my relatives is on this - the lowest dose... her side effects seem to be minimal - dry mouth, sleeplessness, no hunger (obviously). She says although she doesn't feel like eating, she makes sure she does, otherwise she would totally wig out and get lightheaded etc.
The thing that concerns me is that it totally stuffs your metabolism. I have personal experience from my younger years, that as soon as you stop taking duromine (or speed), the weight PILES back on at an alarming rate, with your appetite being uncontrollable. As your appetite has been subdued for so long, I think you lose even more control when it returns than you may have even had previously to the duromine? Just my take on it anyway.
Also, its definitely not something you could take whilst BF, so you would need to wait finishing BF bubs before starting on it.
