I have a confession...I was too hungry at my normal gym time and and it was blooming 37 degrees. So I looked at my gym bag, smiled and then went and got a foot long subway with lots of cheese...sooooo bad! Tomorrow is pump, will make an effort to get there. Wednesday is boxing and Thursday I'll either do step or some cardio myself and then Friday pump again.

I find the women's heath magazine website quite handy. I usually go to the Australian one but also find the American one good too. I also got some useful things from Michelle Bridges website, like a table that shows how many calories are burnt per hour of various exercises.

The Tabata thing is at the w's dot beach-fitness dot com/tabata. You have to sign up to do it from what I can gather.

Thanks for the website hints Danni!!!! I am going to go check those out later!!! I always struggle to get going when it's hot too... I feel so sick! Look forward to hearing how your session tomorrow goes!

Leckert - that sucks about pay cycles Hope you manage to get on the Wii in the meantime! Have you got the pilates "game" for it? ooooo enjoy visiting the new bubba!

Well girls, I just did a mediocre session on the t'mill. 30 min. 2.99Km. Too much energy afterwards but too scared to go faster due to hip. It felt slightly more "controlled" tonight as opposed to yesterday. I've been stretching like mad as well to help with the discomfort. Not sure how it is working yet! I just downloaded 2 new songs for my playlist which I am looking forward to utilising tomorrow! I'm loving my current playlist! REALLY looking forward to boxing tomorrow though - I a wee annoyed at a couple of ppl who seem a bit two faced, and frustrated about work today... so it will be good to take it out in boxing!!!

    Hahaha Danni! Classic!
MG - hope the tready session makes you sweat - you know you want to!
Leesa - how are you feeling hun? Are you starting to come good?
CQueen - Have you now been unleashed on an unsuspecting public?
Nettie - How are those weights going?
Leckert - hope you get your wii soon and you can start dodging the insults I used my sisters and it told me I was a couch potato and obese! Ha!
Berny - Are you a latin dance star today?
Heather - I don't have a chance of looking scrawny! I am one of those body types that is short & stocky & I tend to muscle up too.
Nelle - thanks for new thread, feel free to join in!

AFM - I did Ladies Circuit again today. I am in love with these circuits. Today was warm up on tread mill, then stretches, then running laps around the weight machines, then lunge walks around, then squat walks around, then interval training on the steppers with the levels increasing each time - 30 secs flat out, 15 second recovery - then interval training on the bikes - then into the aerobics room for boxing, burpies, sit-ups, push-ups, star jumps, & plank manoeuvres. I could have done more!

Then at the witching hour, I took my monster, I mean DD, for a 40 min walk up & down the hills out the back. Works out to be about 2.5kms. I did some of my own interval training by putting some flat out runs in there as well ( on the flat ground tho, I'm not insane!). I must have looked silly with a wildly rocking pram in front of me, but DD loved it!

well no wii tonight DS is having a few issues with teething I think (first tooth) and was unsettled with putting him down (including having a bath to try & help - don't like the heat here sometimes) and ended up having to put the portacot up in the lounge room so he could sleep (his room gets a lot of the afternoon sun, so does ours but by the time we get there it's cooled down enough usually to sleep in) so no visiting or wii-ing tonight will have to do both tomorrow night. He's still in the lounge until he next wakes up and then his room should be sleep-able IYKWIM. A/c doesn't easily get up to that end of the house

Sorry - in a bit of a rush tonight, but wanted to let you all know that I went for a walk this morning and had my salad for lunch. So I'm kinda on track today!

Tomorrow's out the window though - got to head into work early (hence the rush) so no walk for me.

Hope it's going well for everyone else and I'll try to catch up better tomorrow!

Winter - the weights are idle tonight

Just back from pump and then had a healthy salad for lunch...though I'm still a bit hungry so might get a salad wrap from subway soon.

I struggled with pump today, not sure why. My body didn't feel as supple as it normally does. Hopefully after today and then after tomorrow's punch pad class my body will be more supple and ready for Friday's pump class.

Danni - well done on your healthy lunch! And good on your for going to your class today! How is the wrist holding up?

Hollo good on you for your class too!!!!! I think sometimes our bodies are less responsive if we decline to give them enough recovery time. And sometimes we just have an off day - nothing wrong with that!

Nettie - well done on your walk and salad!!!! How has today been for you?

Leck - any chance of Wii tonight? It's hard to juggle family, heat, and exercise isn't it?

CQ - well done on finishing your course and doing your first class! How exciting! How are you travelling otherwise?

Winter - how are you feeling today after your day yesterday????!!!! VERY impressive!!!!

Well girls, I'm a bit of a mess today. I had a bad pain night last night which left me aggitated this morning. Not a good start to the day . PT this morning. Well, I guess I'm glad I went but it was not good. Don't get me wrong, I boxed well and worked up a major sweat (still not as good as at home); increased all my weights; got through with minimal pain. BUT, I'm so so sick of the LOOKS and COMMENTS from staff and other patrons. I'm pretty sure everyone thinks there is something going on with D and I because they always LOOK at us with "that" kind of look. And today, as I was walking into the gym after dropping DD in the creche, D was talking to another trainer about an upcoming date he has. And S (other trainer) said "With her?" nodding at me to which D replied negatively. I'm not phased by D's response (although a little hurtful because I'd consider myself a decent catch! ) but moreso the fact that these people think we'd get together! COME ON PEOPLE! We' train twice a week and have done for almost a year... which is WHY we have such a good rapport together... and because we've had to work through some pretty major issues so we could train together. I don't like being in the gym to start with (self conscious and have been harassed in gyms in the past by guys so really don't feel comfortable in them), so after the comment this morning, I was the most anxious I've been for awhile. I was twirling a hair tie in my hands so hard I'd thought it would snap. I wanted to RUN out of the gym and hide in the toilets and CRY.
As I did my 10 min warm up on the t'mill, D read my food/exercise diary and then proceeded to make me feel pretty bad about my food. I KNOW it was bad and I can do better... but it is much better than when we started training and I am an emotional eater going through an emotional time right now... I know I need to stop making excuses for myself but I also need to get on top of my eating. Anyway, after the treadmill we boxed. As we were kitting up, S made a comment to me about hitting D during boxing. Really, is that a necessary comment? Especially since for the better half of the year I have held back in boxing for fear of hitting him? So, I put my earphones in (discovered I do better in boxing if I have my music) and off we went. D said something to me and I looked at him blankly (I can lip read). He thought I couldn't understand him but I don't him I was just ignoring him and to give me a combo . Off we went, I could see he was pretty lax with his stance which annoyed me. He was counting on me not hitting hard today (last few sessions I've hit pretty hard). Well, I hit HARD ladies! So hard, his face changed quickly and he had to take a few steps back and brace himself! That'll teach him! I hit hard the WHOLE time. It felt GOOD. It hurt my back and left leg but I wouldn't quit. I imagined you girls all standing there cheering me on. And I imagined Leesa (I miss her!) standing there telling me to work through the pain, to suck it up, to not give in to my injury. So I kept going and going and going. D got worried and tried to tell me to stop but I wouldn't listen hehe. We compromised. He said 2 more rounds, I said 10, he said 5

Then it was the weights. I increased in all bar 1 lot of weights. He tried to get me to smile but he didn't understand. I told him to just train me and leave out the chat please. I just wanted out. I told him I didn't want to be there today - I couldn't do it. He didn't understand. It wasn't that I PHYSICALLY couldn't do it, but emotionally and mentally today. I've not got another session until next Tuesday and I'm not sure how I feel about it. On one hand, the break from the gym will be good (I still train at home) but on the other hand, breaking my routine could be bad for the cause.

I had physio this afternoon and she confirmed a lot of my issues are stemming from my hip flexor being far too tight. But not in the groin area which is where it usually tightens. It is higher up - almost in my abdomen area. So she did some traction and manipulation and gave me a knew stretch to do which HURT like hell in our session... which means it was GOOD!

Several hours after PT I'm still not really wanting to go back any time soon and still feel pretty upset about it. I still feel like crying. And I feel like chucking in the towel with D. Maybe I need someone older and wiser - not a young 22 year old with little life experience?

Anyway, I'm sorry for the epic post and the poor me funk of an attitude girls.

No worries about the attitude MG - feeling pretty crappy myself today, so I'll join you!

Well, did Latin dance yesterday. I've finally gotten the choreography, but its not in time so I hafta speed up. And its only for the first routine, she's got at least 2 more on the DVD! But I'm pretty proud of myself for pushing through the barrier to finish a routine - amazingly hard work that DVD!

Sorry no personals today, I'm trying not to think too much...

    Wrist is fine.

Bernice: I'd love to do latin dance. My cousin got a DVD for Christmas and some of us tried it and it's soooo hard. I'd love to do more though.

Hun, maybe that's exactly what you need. An older, wiser person who understands emotions - might not let you off the hook - but will understand perhaps the whys of emotional eating, fear of training causing injury etc. Young men are 10 foot tall & bullet proof, so if he has been supportive so far, then you've been really lucky, but if you feel this upset, maybe a change is in order?

thanks Winter. I don't want to be let off the hook but I don't expect to be humiliated either. Nor do I expect to encounter what happened in the foyer today. He does get my fear of injury and embraces that (because he saw how much pain I was in at the height of my injury)... and he gets me because we're pretty similar. But sometimes, I just want to sock him one!

I messaged him earlier asking my options because I didn't want to train any more. He has replied asking me to clarify. But I'm still not sure what I want - if I want to quit or just not in the gym any more. Perhaps replying to his text whilst under the influence of wine was not my smartest move...

Just put the wine in your food diary & have it as evidence as to why you might not possibly have come across exactly how you wanted to OR Deny all - what wine? - Just having a bad night, sorry.

we've ALL done the texting under the influence!

Man, I'm knackered tonight. I did a gyn session first up with weights and treadmill and medicine ball lunges & swats and then I went to Combat. I discovered something today though which is a secret that no-one tells you....it's actually EASIER to do the Comabt class after you have already done some exercise and everything is warmed up!! All this time I have been thinking that the people who do the double sessions are HARD CORE! Does that make me hard core now too?

    Hi,

Wow you girls are inspiring! I know I shouldn't be dieting and I'm not coz I'm pg but I am trying to eat healthily and do some exercize to keep my weight gain in check.

With ds I put on 27kg It basically took me 3yrs to get back to my pre pg weight, then with the fertility drugs to fall pg this time I put back on 8kg

Anyway, I've been eating kinda ok (apart from the odd take-away and chocolate) but I've been doing water aerobics 3 times a week (and actually loving it!). So far I've only put on 2kg!!!

Only prob I'm finding now is as the pg is progressing I'm starting to get more and more tired and lazy and am heading for comfort food and take-away coz I can't be bothered cooking. Basically, if I don't cook it's take-away, dh does NOT cook and even if he did, he doesn't get home until almost 7pm at night. This is not good for my diet or for ds

Does anyone have any suggestions for quick, easy, healthy dinners we can have? I'm also working 2 days a week so that doesn't help my energy levels either.

    Thanks!

    Hi Sharon, welcome!

Keep up the exercise, you'll feel better for it! Well done for doing it 3 times a week, that's awesome.

My advice for healthy meals is to do a big cook up on a Sunday when DH can look after DS and freeze them for when the CBFs hit. Saves money too so double bonus!
Let us know how you go and keep checking in with your exercise.
