Danni - I am relieved they at least know what the problem is, that has got to be a load off of your mind eh?
Almost a load off my mind. Problem is I don't know how bad it is yet until I get the results of the latest blood test in a week. I've been reading up on it and it looks like there are so many treatment options but it depends on what's causing it as to which option to take, and then it can sometimes take 2-3 years to get the right balance of medication and one of the side effects to a lot of the medication is until they get the balance right it's easy to swing from one extreme to the other (hyper to hypo).
Mustn't get ahead of myself. Will just take a day at a time and see what happens next week.

I have to take advantage of my real hyper times though and go for a run. At the times when it's really bad I feel like I could just run for miles. I get agitated and agressive at those times to and become frantic. Like tonight I got home from a meeting at 9:30 and on the way home I started getting really hyper and was speeding and jumpy at anything I saw out the corner of my eye (scary when driving). Then I got home and wanted to frantically start cleaning or go out for a run (if only it weren't dark).

I'm trying to use up as much energy as I can so I can go to sleep. I'm deliberatly staying up late because I'm buzzing.

I'm trying to control the frantic feelings, but it's hard because it's not like I can just decide I'm not going to be frantic and cranky, I can't control it. 1 week and then hopefully medication. I should have brought my gym gear incase I get that way again during the day then I could run on the treadmil.
DH was funny though, I got home and he could see I was buzzing and full of energy so he said we should DTD. It actually helped me use up some of that energy mind you.

Leckert - come on Liz, you can go for a brisk evening walk without a pedometer . Try exercising through the tiredness (even if its for only half an hour), I know its especially hard to get motivated, but give it a crack for a week. I found it elevated my mood and honestly helped me get through the day easier. I'm talking, eye balls hanging out of my head tired (so I assume we're on the same page lol), I don't think about it, I just put on my trainers and go for it.

Warning EXCUSES coming - legit ones only though
Unfortunately Blake's not been co-operative at night lately - 1-2 hourly wake ups (has learnt to crawl as of Tuesday) so sleep wins out over the exercise. But having the pedometer does make me feel better in how much incidental walking I'm actually doing all over school - been more than 11 000 steps the last 2 days (details are recorded onthe fridge atm while I've just snuck on at school, just have to angle the pedometer the right way to read the screen - new battery needed, getting one tonight.) School has also been stressful and full on with meetings after school and in the evenings as well hopefully school stuff settles down soon (meetings don't but the rest of the stuff might )

girls, I'm sorry I've been MIA. I'm still struggling to deal with my PT issues and am very torn about what to do. I promise I am still trying to keep up with my fitness in the mean time (although not this week because it is CONSUMED with Party Preps for DD's birthday!).

Leesa - thank you so so so much for everything hon. You've made these last few weeks so much easier for me to process.

    Keep going strong girls!

I feel like I'm allowed back in now that I hauled my bum back to the gym today. I really need this week off I think, just so tired so sick baby seemed a perfect excuse!

DH & I went down south for the w'end and stayed with his parents, we left DD with them heaps and went out and trained together at different spots. Man, we had a ball!! I put him through some of the stuff I've been doing at circuit one afternoon, then the next morning we went to a beach that had this massive staircase - I'm talking like near vertical to get down a 100m cliff to the beach - and warm up was just going down! Then we did runs and lunges etc in the soft sand and then sprints in the hard sand. We spent about 30 mins doing that and then we had to get back up that staircase!! DH made us hold our water above our heads every second flight and we were dripping by the time we got to the top. Then I got payback by making us doing tricep dips on the bench at the top and I could do more than him!!! Then on Sunday we went for a run think it was about 4 kms up and down the path along the cliffs. It was so beautiful. Hard in places, but doing it together really made us push to finish. Like DH would say to me, "keep it going until the top of the hill" and I would.

Baby crying! BBL - sorry all about me

Hi Leesa! I have had one or two thoughts about doing PT as it would be great if I could fit it in during school hours when kidlets hit school age. Long way to go till then but something ticking over in the back of my mind. I am loving being fit, getting fitter, getting stronger, I love how my body feels - apart from the aches at the end of the day after circuit class!! How are you doing hun?

Just wish I could shift this baby weight. I don't know what I need to do. I am still BF so I am hoping that that is having something to do with it ? Just got to remember that it took 9 months to put this weight on, its going to take time to take it off again. Scales seem to be stuck around 60kg but I am noticing that my arms and legs are getting leaner & toned. Mummy tummy is still wobbly! Going to start trying for another baby in about 4 months so on one hand I am excited about having new baby and on the other I am not looking forward to loosing my hard won fitness. I totally stopped last pregnancy and I'm NOT doing that again. Going to keep moving the whole time and doing my normal exercise as long as I can.

Leckert - how are you going, back into it?
CQ - How is Pump going? Are you being mean to everyone in your class and making them work really hard?
MG - how's your headspace atm?
Heather - are you still Thumping?
Hey Danni - DTD is exercise right? That definitely counts as a workout - if you do it right!
How did you go with a cook up Sharon?
Nettie - where are you with the weights?

Hope you're all moving & shaking this week!

winter, i have a similar issue with breastfeeding. i couldnt loose anything much until i stopped when DD1 was 17 months old. same thing i think is happening with DD2 cause even thgouh i am going to the gym and eating pretty well (could be better) i havent lost hardly anything. i have a few friends in my mothers group who loose weight simply through breastfeeding and not doing any exercise etc.. so unfair

i also know what its like to take 2 years to loose 20kg and then get pregnant and put it all back on again! i have 15kg to loose this time round! ARGH!

Hey Winter: Alot will have to do with genetics. What was your Mum like after babies and that sort of thing.

daniellabella: I have a girlfriend who has the thyroid thing too. She is super skinny and struggles to put weight on. She is on medication too and they seem to have got it right. It was a bit tricky when she was pregnant as the OB and thyroid spec couldn't agree on what was best!

Welcome back leesa Nah, love Attack, will keep it going

Well, I have found out that tomorrow is a Cardio Circuit. So will see how we go. I haven't been doing much other than the usual running around with kids and so on, that seems to be doing the trick.
I haven't done circuit in years!!! Used to love it, let's see how I go! As long as I work up a good sweat I'm happy.

bye for now, will check back in after circuit tomorrow

Hi guys! Thought I would pop in here. I occasionally visit the weight loss thread but now that I have been active for over a year think I deserve to be here too. LOL. I need to keep telling myself I am an active person now and not a couch potato!
I did one of the Michelle Bridges videos this morning - the cardio kick one. It is pretty full on. Very high impact though which I need to be careful of as I have weak ankles and knees. But I sure worked up a sweat and was pretty puffed.
At the moment I am getting to get into the best shape I can for the soccer season. It is my first year of playing outdoor which I am excited about. I wanted to play midfield as they do a lot of running back and forth because I think that my fitness will be my strength as technically I am just ok. But it does mean I need to be able to run an 80 min game. So something to build up to!

Anyway will run. I am not good at personals but am enjoying everyone's stories. Take care!

    Hi Girls!

I'm so pleased to see you all doing well.

Daniella, I hope you get some answers soon hon re: treatment options for your situation.

Winter - I hear you on thinking about PT! I'm also thinking about it for down the track. But first I need to be able to get me weight DOWN, injuries sorted, and fitness improved. It will happen down the track...

Leesa, how are you doing hon? I haven't forgotten that I said I'd send you that information regularly... I've just been so busy with party preps this last week, then cleaning for Step Mum's arrival... I feel exhausted!!!! I will start tomorrow - I promise!!!

AFM, well, I'm still undecided about PT. Trainer and I had a horrid chat last week which he again continued to NOT get what I was saying. To the point where I gave it to him point blank... and am still waiting for a response! I have PT today so we will see how it goes. I am trialling a new trainer at a completely different centre this Fri (Leesa - I rebooked him for this week! Spoke to him and he sounds lovely!). I was suppose to see the new guy last Fri but was too behind with party preps... The new guy has more experience than my current trainer and is also a part time trainer with a footy club over here so should be pretty good with injuries!!! BUT, I will see how it goes before I make a final decision...

I spoke to a friend last week who was talking to me about a third person's diet. It made something in my mind tick over so now I am more receptive to my current traienrs desire for me to see a nutritionist. So I've asked him to give me info. Except he's given me the details of the lady who works from his other gym. I don't feel comfortable with that because I feel like 1) it's promoting work for the centre not necessarily in my best interests. 2). the venue. I will not go there. So I have to find another nutritionist I think...

In the meantime, I've been getting on my treadmill still. Except I was only on it once last week due to party stuff. I did a session yesterday and it was ok. I decided on a new tactic. Every 5 min I increase the speed by 0.2Km/hr. I got to 6.4 and then my hip gave out - I couldn't keep it stable and had to drop the speed right back to 5.6 and start again. I was able to regain control of my hip (just!) but it was hard. I've worked out at higher speeds I need to take much smaller steps to keep my hip in check.

Anyway, I have PT soon so better go get ready...

Yay, doc said I can keep up my normal gym routine. I have to have another set of blood tests in 6 weeks which will give more answers before I can start treatment. In the mean time doc gave me a script for sleeping tablets to help calm me down so I can sleep.

Winter and Hollo - just keep in mind that no matter how much weight the mums who b/f (and not exercise) lose - THEY ARE NOT GETTING ANY FITTER. Whereas you both (well, all of us who exercise in here) ARE GETTING FITTER AND STRONGER with every session we do .

MG - No way - STILL no response . I'm VERY proud of you for telling him hun . Can't wait to see how you go with the new PT either.

Danni - Awesome news hun, so chop chop - back into it now .

Krysalyss - You're certainly on the right track hun, huff and puff your way to fitness. Doesn't matter what you do - so long as you're moving! I wonder how many cals DTD burns lol??

Heather - so how did Cardio Circuit go? Yay or Nay??

Leckert - where are you hiding??

AFM - I went back to work this week, I'm still doing exercise after the last meal in the evening (Winter - I do that to help lose the weight). The guys from work want me to train them after hours (they have formed a Biggest Loser within our dept lol). As with all government depts there may be some red tape to get around, but I'll see how we go.
Still have that tight glute, and I've cut back on the amount of Attack I've been doing (switched to RPM) - so long as I do something rather high impact I'm a happy camper :-)

    Be good ladies!!!

    Your's in health and fitness

Danni - that is BRILLIANT news!!!!

Leesa - YUP. BUT, there was something said in PT which I will get to in a minute... I'm sorry your glute is still causing grief. Which stretch are you doing for it? Can you squeeze in another massage for it? That sounds good for work... good luck with the red tape!!!

Well, I went to PT. It was a strange session - we're still not back to where we were... but I'm not sure we can ever be. We started our session outside but we meet at the desk. Someone I knew was there and as we were leaving, I said goodbye to my friend... except D thought I was talking to him! Hmmm. Anyway, we were walking to our training location and he said "So, we're ready to roll? Start afresh? Clean slate?" So, he had taken on board what I said last week. This is his way of addressing it. Not necessarily the best way... but hey.
So we trained. I hurt. A lot. I didn't have a very effective session at all unfortunately... but I tried to push through. We did a new exercise to help my hip which was good. It hurt to do but I feel good now. Then, he reminded me he's away for 2 weeks! I had it in my head that he was away end of March! D'OH! BUT that is great news! It gives me a couple of week to deal with my gym issues (which is also how he interpreted it when I said it was great timing! ), it will give my hip (which is playing up) time to heal; AND it means I can try out the other trainer guilt free!!!! AND I will still be able to keep up my training in D's absence!!!!!!
