Re: Fitness chat and tips #2
Hi girls, I thought it was time to bite the bullet and join in this thread if that's ok with everyone. I am wanting to get fit and lose a few kilos. Well, 7kg to be exact. I've lost my pregnancy weight but want to lose 7 more to get me at a nice BMI.
I have only managed walking a couple times a week as it's been scorching hot here recently. At the moment, I have a very loose pelvis which has been giving me some pain of a night time. I'd put up with it for four weeks until I went and saw a physio yesterday. Currently have my hips strapped for some support and mobilization. Working my pelvic floor is the key at the moment as while I have great control over it, it is still very weak. I am hoping to return to Pilates soon but can't do any mat work yet as I have pain when I open my legs out. So walking is it for the time being.
I also need to have better control over my eating. Yesterday I ate an entire block of chocolate

MG, my pelvis is sore from the birth of DD. It's still very loose and I have a lot of movement in the joints. Strapping has helped immensely but it just feels like it's taking forever to heal.
Hollo, well done on the weight loss! :)

Heather, yeah hot yoga sounds like bikram. It's basically Hatha yoga (26 poses) in a room heated to 40 degrees. I have a you tube link somewhere that explains it really well, will see if I can dig it up.
As for workout gear I haven't bought anything for about a year and a half. Been wearing the same stuff! I like 3/4 pants and tees. I've got a great pair of Nike shorts that have a layer inside which draws away moisture.
Haven't been walking much because it seems to aggravate my pelvis. Might give the cross trainer a go as it's very, very low impact. All I've been doing is lots of pelvic floor and a few exercises the physio gave me (clamshells, donkey kicks and reverse bridges) which all aim to strengthen my butt lol
Can't wait to get back into decent exercise. I'm getting better with my eating but need that extra exercise to make a difference. I've set a mini goal to lose 4kg by DS's birthday in 6 weeks. Does that sound achievable?
