    Hi gorgeous ladies!

Don't be afraid of weights - whether they be milk, books or kids lol - it all encumbers the same conditioning as lifting your boring old dumbells or barbells - honest! !!!

A big proud shout out to Winter running her half marathon today!! You'll rock gorgeous!!!!! I just know it - EVERYONE cheer for Winter!!!

And another big proud shout out to my girls MG and Eluned - both with fitness goals of a stair climb and a mini marathon - so so so proud of you both !

MG - WHEN you get to the top of the stair climb I want you to yell "Eureka" - ok? Promise ?

Eluned - I'm so happy you're doing Attack - see? It does get easier huh? So so proud hun! How is the 12 wk challenge going?

AFM - I've had a flat out week and only managed to sneak in 2.5 hours of exercise, but I'm still whacking out Body Attack and RPM sessions like nobody's business lol. I've ceased with the ab work (to assist in getting a VBAC) and soon enough will have to stop being flat on my back - so there goes the chest track in body pump.

Still watching the slow weight gain - I keep reminding myself I started off DS' pg 13 kilos heavier (68kgs), and now I'm only 5kgs lighter than when I started DS' pg (I gained about 5 kilos to help 'sustain' the pg due to being on the underweight-ish side, but the OB tells me I've 'really' only gained 3kgs - so kind!).

I feel much better for doing the exercise and will keep altering the sessions as I get a bigger belly .

Sending you great weekend fitness vibes!

Sorry girls, after that last session I haven't been back to the gym I have been stretching at home, but I have come down with a bad cold, one that went into my head and chest within hours of starting Urgh.... I still feel like crap today, but I'm hoping by tomorrow I can get to the gym.

I still have a lot of congestion and was thinking that you shouldn't go to the gym when you are like that, is that right? Sorry to ask silly basic questions, but I thought that was one of those things you avoided when sick....

Chris - no, if you are clogged up, and it is in your chest, then you best avoid the gym hon. When you have gunk on your chest, you will have a decreased respiratory capacity... which will be worsened by exercise...Give it a few more days hon...

Leesa, you amaze and inspire me!!! Love ya work!!!!

...and when I get to the 88th floor... the only thing I'll be shouting is "MEDIC!!!!!"

Urgh okay... tomorrow is one of the only days I can go to the gym as its a public holiday and DH is home, being school holidays.... ah well, the cold isn't in my chest anymore, only for like one day on Friday, so I will see how the night goes and if I'm better and have no issues overnight, maybe I'll go tomorrow. Maybe just the resistance and stretching. No cardio....

Well, I didn't go, I went to the shops to get some grocery's and was coughing near the end, so I decided to hold off until I'm finished being sick... I am just so worried about losing my momentum...

I understand Christy. I truly do. I get the same when I'm sick. For a long time, even when I was at my peak with my injury, I'd go to PT JUST for the routine. It didn't matter if I did the most basic and pathetic exercises - I needed to go for the routine. But trust me when I say that it (momentum) returns. You drag yourself to that first session back, and your love for fitness is reignited!

Plus, it is better to wait and reignite the love than to let the relationship fester into one of hate and resentment because you've struggled to meet your goals whilst sick

Sending you loads of recovery vibes!

My arthritis is BAD today. It has me second guessing my decision to do the climb. I'm packing my pants! I'll do a stretch later and go for a walk. Hopefully I'll get some boxing in as well but I am afraid I have fractured my pinkie!

MG - I hope you feel better soon! You can always climb another time.. (hey! I made a rhyme! Hey! I did it again!... nope lost it now. )

Well I'm still walking in the mornings and this morning I added in a stair climb. The biggest public staircase we have is to a building near the main street which has 13 steps! So I did up and down 5 times this morning (which got my heart pumping a little) but I had shopping on my shoulder so I will do it again tomorrow, but will do 10. I'll also try to do some of those chair drop thingys for your upper arms..

to everyone else. Hope you're getting your heart pumping each day!

Zumba - first time, tonight...can't wait for the next class. This is what my body was meant to do, not friggin aerobics classes!! Instructor said she was convinced I'd done it before, but I didn't tell her that I have a latin american background I'll just let her think I'm a gun! So, if this is a fad, I'm going with it - I reckon it's got mileage, though

christy, I hope you are feeling better soon and can get back into the training.

leesa, Attack is great! Actually, I was a little bit suprised at how much fitter I feel in just a week. I felt really good because near the end (can't remember the track) where we jog around the room, I was overtaking people! The challenge is going well. Got a weigh in tomorrow, fingers crossed I've lost some weight. The meal plans are fantastic and are so easy. I like it because I don't have to think of what to cook for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

MG, how are you feeling today? I hope you do get to do the stair climb, so I hope you're feeling better very soon! If you were in Perth, there is an AWESOME set of stairs that is frequented ALOT by the fitness types here. It's called Jacob's Ladder. It has 242 steps! I've never done it before, but I think I'm going to have to make it one of my goals.

Mayaness, Zumba is brilliant! I haven't been for a few weeks just because my local class doesn't really have it at a suitable time. If DH gets home from work early, then I can make it. Although, they do have it at my gym and once DH finishes soccer in a couple of weeks, I'll be able to go to the class there instead!

AFM, can't make any classes until the weekend as DH is away and it's a bit painful to leave kids with babysitters in the evenings, so I've just been getting outdoors for walks/jogs with the pram and also doing a Pilates DVD while the kids nap. Although, DD didn't nap today and thought it was fun to climb all over me while I was trying to do bridges LOL...Tried out my HRM for the first time today and in a big walk this afternoon burnt 151 calories. Sweet! I really can't wait to wear it to a gym class. The only bummer is that it was supposed to come with the FlowLink but apparently they are sending it separately, so I can't upload the data to my PC yet.

    Happy training everyone!

    GO MAYANESS!

Eluned - well done hon! It's amazing how quick our fitness can actually build, isn't it? Hmmm if I lived in Perth, I reckon we could train together! THAT would be awesome!!! We have stairs here in Vic in Dandenong which are frequented by fitness people frequently. I'm not sure how many steps it is. It's on the other side of the city to me - but I might go give it a go in a couple of weeks.

Net - YOU GO GIRL! did you do a Rocky at the top of the stairs? I would have! hmmm maybe I will do that after Eureka

AFM - I had a bad session yesterday. I was so sore. I was crying straight off which sux. But we got through the session which was good. I'm off work today as my back is sore. But I'm doing lots of stretching. I am thinking I will splint my pinkie for work tomorrow as it is giving me grief...

Hi everyone! Just a quick hello from me. Still trying to get fit, been happy with my progress this week. I'm ignoring the scales. I've walked each day (well, not the days when it's been raining) for about an hour and twenty, pushing DD in her pram and working up a sweat and can feel that heart beat pumping away. I've also bought the Zumba discs for home - found them super cheap at a market, don't want to think about the origins, just meant it was $30 out of pocket instead of $150. And I love love love it!!! I've done the beginners disc three times and today had a shot at the next one, and OMG! I felt like an uncoordinated looney jumping about, occassionally getting a step right. But I did it today for 40 mins, could hear my heart in my ears and sweating like crazy and now I feel pretty good. Yay! Hope everyone is going well, this weather has been lovely to get outside in.

PRMG! Yay for a bargain, hey?

I've been walking most mornings and Yoga started up again this week - I am soooo proud of myself because we often do poses where the teacher says 'now lift your feet/knees/etc off the floor'... I usually try and can't do it, but this week, I lifted my feet off the floor and was just balancing on my bum! I did it a few times and even managed to improve! Was sooo stoked to see progress that it's fired me right up for trying it again!

I hope everyone's quiet because they're out exercising!!

oooo PRMG - which market did you get it from? I'd be interested in getting a copy DD and I can do it together! And well done on doing it!

Toni - well done on your achievment! AWESOME work! Persistence does pay off!

    How is everyone else doing?

I've not been as active as I'd like lately. I've had a relapse with my back (was resolved). i've been working on my stuff for the climb. I'm doing surprisingly well with that but still have a lot to do! My main problem is that I am just so tired at the moment! Especially today! And the cold snap we've just gotten in Melb has made my back worse again... *sigh* part of me says "get up to gym" whilst the other says "rest today, train tomorrow".

    Hey girls!

MG I hope your back eases up for you.

I went to the gym 5 days over the last week. I had Wednesday and Friday off. I find that I have to have those days off when I have the kids during the day and activities on at night... cant work out how to get the youngest into the creche yet.... she's going through some separation issues...

I did an hour pilates class on Tuesday though... and I loved it! Afterwards, I felt very loose and limber, no pain afterwards and heaps rejuvinated (sp).

I think if I do 30-45 minutes most days doing cross training and weights then pilates once a week I can break it up a bit. Tuesdays & Thursdays I can do easily as well as Sat & Sunday, if I want to go on Monday, Wednesday or Friday, I have to have childcare or go at night.

Great to see you ladies getting out there and raising heart rates!
I went to my second Zumba class, and even though I still feel wobbly and lumpy, I feel good I've only got 6 classes left of my voucher, and I think two classes a week is what I need to recharge my body and brain. I'm finding myself doing a little Zumba move (music in my head and all) whilst walking through the house, so I must be liking it!
Can't wait to feel like I'm not towing a trailer (regardless of what I look like, I know when I FEEL right!).
Zumba is all I have time for lately, so that's something
