Well, this year I really really want to work hard at losing around 6kg to get to my goal weight.
I've started doing Zumba at home and really love it. Also got given an ipod nano 6th generation for Christmas and am loving the pedometer feature of it.
Really have a plan of eating healthier as well and doing more yoga this year.
And, as you can see, I've decided to track my weighloss publically here so hopefully that will help me stay motivated.

I joined the gym again today after a few months off due to illness. In that time I've been walking the dog and riding my bike. I'm a little apprehensive about starting the gym again. I'll be taking at a snail's pace. I might do some sessions with a PT when I feel a bit more confident.
Just a question, I'd like to tell someone at the gym about my sickness (had multiple Pumlonary Emboli - blood clots on the lungs). Who would it be? I think my main worry is that something might happen and they ought to know in case they need to help me.

ML, have you been asked to fill in any forms yet? If not, have you been given an appointment with an instructor for fitness assessment and program design? This would be the person to tell.
I'm sure you're aware that in the gym, there are multiple instructors and even more patrons. It may be difficult for them to keep it in mind all the time. BUT, if anything happened to you, they should pull your info and have it out for when an ambulance arrived. You could ask them to put it in red at the top of your program if you feel comfortable with other patrons seeing that.
Do you wear a medic alert bracelet or anything?
Out of curiosity, where do you live? When I was at the gym today, there was two separate people signing up - how cool would it be if you went to my gym?! Because, of course, my gym is the only one in the whole WORLD who had any new clients today!

Thanks for the info. :) I haven't filled out any forms or been given an appt as I have been with this gym before and let my membership lapse when I got sick so they still have all my info on record and I was going to do a watered down version of the program I had before. I'll ask the ladies at the desk how I would go about updating my records.
I don't have a medic alert bracelet as yet but this has prompted me to think about getting one. I'm not sure how long I'll be on warfarin. If it's long term I will get one but if it's only a few months then I probably won't bother. I keep my warfarin record in my wallet near my driver's licence so if someone needed to identify me hopefully they will see it and click.
lol, that would be awesome if we were at the same gym! I sometimes wonder if I've ever passed anyone in the street from BB or other forums I visit. I'm in WA.

ML - warfarin can be given for reasons besides clots. And anyone who isn't medically trained (Dr, nurse, ambo) probably won't make the connection. I'd probably get them to add it to your file before you do your next workout. Nothing wrong with you adding it to the top of your program along with a heap of !!!!! and ****** to highlight it ;)
