I'm interested to hear from people who have/had been able to either lose weight or maintain their weight by eating foods that are 'good' for their blood type.
I know there are books that talk about eating certain foods and avoiding certain foods for your blood type.
Thanks
Do you know what blood type you are? I am an A bloood type (only found out when I was pg actually) I do not know alot about it so far as dieting is concerned but I know for example that A blood types require less-to-no red meat whatsoever whereas O blood types are natural meat eaters and require it in their diet. As you said there would be a wealth of info in books and on the net. I was a vegetarian for years, and could easily go vego again, so it was not so much as a surprise to me to find out a couple of years ago that I was an A blood type as I could easily go without meat. All the best and I think there is some credit to eating according to your blood type.
oh, I just found this thread, I was thinking of trying this as well. I just found out that as a blood type A I should eat vegetarian... funnily enough I usually prefer vegetarian food. So I am going to reduce the meat I eat and see how this goes.
My MIL is a natural therapist and is big into the blood type food's. My husband is also A blood type and suffers from psoriasis- and although he doesnt like to follow the diet, because he loves his meat far too much- there are certain foods like tomatos (and other that I can't remember) that he is suppsoed to avoid. When he was following the diet loosely and avoiding some of these foods he found that his psoriasis is much better.
I am not sure how it goes for loosing/ maintaing weight, but it can have an effect on your body for sure- MIL used to say she could see in her kids eyes (iridology) when they were eating badly.
Personally, I think eating for a blood type is a load of BS. There is no scientific research or evidence supporting any claims about eating for a specific blood type makes any difference to health, weight or anything else. You may as well Pick a diet based on hair colour...
The book is called "eat right for your blood type", not sure by whom. My sister and her DP were suppose to be giving it a go, not sure what happened, but potentially they had different blood types and cooking 2 different meals was too hard.
