Trill, with my DH's band, he can get it taken out if he so wishes. There's another procedure which is quite extreme, but is irreversable.
From what I remember, my DH was told that when he has reached his goal weight, he'd be getting the excess taken off.. I think, I can't remember.
And I'm not too sure how heavy you have to be to have it done. DH had to get to 170 (I THINK it was) before they would operate on him, which he reached that in 4 or so months

Trillian my mum has reached a "goal" of sorts and maintained it for 2 years, but she still has the band in place (and as far as I know has no intention of removing it). She's now about to start the process of excess skin removal, which will take about a year.

My sister got it done, She lost lots of weight but now is bigger than ever. I think you really need to address why you are larger in the 1st place and work through those issue. Yes it can work for many people but my sister is just an example of a case that it hasn't worked for... You should know that those cases are out there, you just may not hear about them because people don't like to talk about their failures as much as their successes.

The surgen called the other day and I was so scared they where calling to postpone my appointment but thankfully they where just ringing to make my appointment in the morning instead of the arvo
