I have completed the c25k program in the past too and I loved it. I have been meaning to start again because I have let my fitness drop so much but all I seem to do is make excuses. My main one is that I 100% prefer to do it outside on the road but that's impossible with DD (who's 5) - but I have a treadmill here so I guess I need to suck it up and stop being a princess lol.

I wish you guys all the best with it - I hope to join you very soon!!

Whooo - just completed day 1 week 1. I'd forgotten how great the burn in the lunges and the legs feels. I managed to haul by overweight unfit butt 3.4ks (according to map my run). The app was great, though I cant get it to upload my results to facebook. I'm training for a 10k run with a friend and I thought it would be a great way to track our progress, but when I try to upload it, the data keeps reverting back to run 3/8. anyone else had that?

Ash jump on board. If you google there is a program espec for people using the treadmill, that might help you even more

At 6.30 this morning instead of going back to bed when I put DS back down I went out and did run 1! It got pretty hard about half way through but I did it!
    Can only get easier right??

Woohoo! Go MM! I think it does get easier. And the fact that its hard makes the sense of satisfaction that much greater. AWESOME work!

Yay Raupe! I just did my first week two run. Got a little dizzy and vomity in true Biggest Loser style because I tried to run at 9.5km/hr for 90
secs. I did manage a 30 second 'sprint' at 10km\hr at the end and was well and truly spent.

Also I noticed my two rest days were bad for food. Running equals not wanting to eat rubbish- awesome!

    Hey Raupe,
You must be on the Monday, Wednesday, Friday runs as well! I just did week 2, run 2, I'm a little wheezy so it was hard, but I still finished, I am 100% sure I would have bailed if it weren't for the app, It really helps keep me on track.
I think I;m almost confident that I am going to stick with it. Even though it is hard to fit in, I find myself really looking forward to the next run.

Well I did week 2 day 1 today and apart from my knees hurting it went great. If it weren't for the app there is no way I would have done it. I also did a jog/ walk with dp a few days and I'm fitter than him! Yay me, I bet him up the hill.
Great to see everyone else going so well. We will all be fit and fab in no time!

    Woohoo UsPlus2,
I just did week 3 run 1, and I am the same, never would have done it without the app.
I have worked the past three days and was running on 4 hours sleep today as DS woke up feverish and unwell during the night. But, after everyone else was tucked up in bed, I was running!
Think I have shin splints though so I might take a little longer than 9 weeks, hopefully they'll settle quickly. Any tips?

Wow well done on the motivation of going when everyone else was sleeping. It really is great when we push ourselves just that little bit further.

I was about to post a thread on shin splints. I dont have them, but the pain in my knees feel just like it. I can barely walk tonight I brought some letric soda crystals today so will soak in that tomorrow. When I trained for the 10k the running school I went through was really big on stretches before heading out. Not just a warm up walk, full on stretches. From memory he said that shin splints were caused when the muscle tears from the bone (or somewhere) and that can be avoided if you warm up properly.

think i will google tomorrow about knee pain and look into proper warm up's maybe that is what is causing the pain. Hope you feel better soon.
