Ok I started week 5 last night. Wasn't as bad as i thought it would be so thats a good sign :) I'm still scared of moving up to the 8 min runs next time! I seem to feel that way each week but it always ends up being fine. Still I cant see how 20 mins is going to be possible this week.
Raupe - I'm not sure where you are doing your runs but I'm doing them at the gym and find watching the TV helps take my mind off the running and time seems to go quicker as I really have to focus on reading the captions. Also just focusing on my music and telling myself just get to the end of this song. Not really any new advice there but thats what seems to be working for me :)

I did it I did it, I just ran for 20 mins straight!! The get running lady said I can now call myself a runner! Lol. I felt a bit light headed when I stopped, thought I was gonna fall of the treadmill for a sec, but omg I did it! :)

I just got back on the horse. Shin splints + viruses + mental life = falling off but I restarted week three today and it was so hard, I had to run pretty slow in the longer runs but I did it!!! Yay!!! Glad to be back.

Oh sorry to hear life has been tough PollyA :( Hope things are looking up for you. Good on you for getting back into it :)

Thanks mm, I'm ok...Optimism can sometimes be a little bit of a curse and I repeatedly overcommit, but health and fitness are on top of my priority list right now! Gotta break the vicious cycle... Too tired and busy to exercise, not exercising so feeling fat, frumpy and tired, the first fitness goal is the city to surf 12km in august running as much as I can, then the pink triathlon in november,
Anyone else working toward an event?
-
It can be hard to find the time can't it. I feel so much better since I have started excerising regularly, i actually get angry now when I cant make it to the gym!
I'm not working towards a particular event but I'd love to do one in the future. I'm up to the last run of week 7 so its feeling like more of a reality that I'll be able to take part in one fairly soon :)
-
Woohoo. I just finished week 3- again. It's good to be back at it. Who's still running?
This week I've made an effort to do non running activities on the rest days. I've swum, stretched and cross trained and it's made a lot of difference.
Would love to hear how everyone else is going, it's a great motivation

I've just seen this thread, and think I will download the app.
Need to lose some weight, and don't want to go back the gym!
-
Great to see your back into the swing of things PollyA!
I signed up for the City to Surf 4km!! Yay I'm so excited, my first ever event :)
One more week of C25K and then I'm finished. Gonna have to pick up my speed to get to 5k in 30 mins though. Last night did 4k, still feeling like I'm gonna pass out when I slow down to a walk at the end. I guess this will pass in time.
Anyone else still going?

Just finished week 7 run 2. On track for the city to surf! I'm running very slow but it is still a great workout. It's helped me lose 10kg and 16cm off my waist in the last 6 weeks so I'm
A happy runner. Still lots of weight to lose but it's a start.
I've also signed up to the pink triathlon in November, most awesome event. Can't recommend it high enough!!
Anyone else still running?

I went for a "run" last night. DH pushed the pram and we went for a really long walk but we did lots of 50-100m dashes of running. I was loving it! I was so excited that I could still "run" at 37 weeks pregnant. The only thing stopping me was the ouchy feeling of bubs head in my pelvis, I wasn't out of breath or anything. I can't wait to get back into running properly, I have really missed it.
Well done on the weight loss and the being on track for City to Surf PollyA!! That really is fantastic news!! :cheer:
-
Wow running at 37 weeks preg! Winter, you are amazing!
PollyA, well done on your weight loss! Sounds like you're gonna kick but at your upcoming events.
I've had a slack couple of weeks after colds going through the house, but we're all healthy again so no excuses now! I'm really looking forward to the city to surf, I have no idea what to expect but I'm sure it'll be a great day :)
-
OMG winter you are amazing - there was no chance i could run - I was so huge and heavy, particularly with 10 lb JJ!!! I am slack, getting fatter and need the days to get longer again so I can go out at night when DH comes home - right now he gets here around 5 ish and it's already nearly dark - I hate winter (the season ;)) I got up to around week 4 - wow on losing 10 kgs PollyA - have you been dieting as well! That is amazing!! I need to lose around 5-7 to be in my happy zone and have found it hard, paticularly as chocolate makes me infinitely happy when it's cold at night

Wow Winter, I am super impressed. i did the Pink triathlon in 2009 when I was 24 weeks pregnant and I ran 100m before feeling as though my baby would fall out, The run and the swim were okay and I did "Run" the finish chute but walked the rest.
Tanstar I am dieting too, Just trying to eat whole foods, less processed and wrapped up foods. I have battled with weight my whole life and i think you just need to be fully committed, especially when there's only a little to lose. Hot chocolate(the Jarrah type- one of my exceptions to the processed/packed food thing) and Peppermint tea have been a fave here at night.
MM The City to Surf will be amazing! I haven't done the Perth one before but I am scared about the hills. I think my time will be S-L-O-W but its not about being the best, its just about being there.
If you're interested in the Pink tri PM me, I have started a team so would happily give you the details and we'll hopefully have some training get togethers
Happy running everyone!
Happy nesting Winter!

Wow winter! I'm super impressed Hun! Sounds like you've kept your fitness thru out the pg! You're a legend, I wish I could have done that!
-
Winter! You are awesomely inspiring! :)
I'm planning on doing the pancake run on the 14th August which is 15km (bit scared! eep!). I'll also be running the 12km City to Surf. My furtherest distance to date is 8km so these are new goals to achieve.

Wish I was Pancaking with you Laranna!! Maybe next year?! You'll be fabulous, you know you will!! And there are pancakes at the end....what more could a girl want?
