My mum also bought one on Ebay for around $600. It was great. Pitty she never uses it ......
Also checkout your discount department stores online and maybe even graysonline - you never know what you will find there.
Or if your DH is a big kid then try for a Wii with Wii Fit Plus - I can vouch for it - it uses every muscle group - I can hardly walk today!!
