    MD,

like my ex-personal trainer husband always says: some of the fittest people he's ever met have been nurses who were 20-30kgs over what their BMI was supposed to be. Being functionally fit (no matter what your size) is better than being skinny and unfit, IMO.
I'm sure I have never met your hubby but I must be one of those functionally fit nurses he is talking about I have never fit into the BMI despite being a size 12 and aerobically fit. I am currently not size 12 and not as fit as I used to be but 12 hour shifts and continuous physical activity helps keep that functionality.
