i know something similar to this has been asked before but i'm very interested in people's experiences.
i need to lose about 9kgs, not a massive amount, i know, but enough to make me a feel a little down about my body. i exercise 5-6 days a week and try to eat healthy but i feel extremely hungry which i put down a lot to breastfeeding.
is there anyway i can go about losing this weight without affecting my supply. i don't want to do anything to affect my breastfeeding relationship.
what have other people found has helped them to lose weight while breastfeeding?
or should i just not worry about it and wait until ds is weaned and then concentrate on losing the weight.?
Gracie, personally I have the opposite problem (well more so after DS1 actually) where I couldn't keep weight on while bfing - don't hate me . When I was struggling to put on weight while bfing ( as I was under weight and wanting to TTC), I found out that there are dieticians who specialise in bfing - so they can do up a diet plan to help you lose (or in my case gain!) weight safely while bfing. Perhaps you could try that.
Some other ideas are to do intervals training (google it if you like), where you vary your work out rate over half an hour or an hour so that your heart rate is peaking for just a couple of minutes at a time. Also snacking - eating small portions often rather than large meals, drinking enough water and eating a good breakfast (kick starts your metabolism).
mr- i'm jealous!
might have to check out going to a dietician or i was thinking of even joining weight watchers as i've hear they're good for people bfing.
thanks for your suggestions
I've never had any issues with dieting affecting my milk. Maybe i'm just lucky After having my first ds i did the Dr Phil thing and lost 7kgs. After my second ds i tried another healthy eating plan and lost 7kgs again. I'm still trying to lose some weight(lost 2kgs so far) and i'm still breastfeeding with no worries.
