Really Sararose? Maybe it's nothing after all then. I hope so!
My brother suggested that I start taking glucosamine. He has the same problem, he reckons, and the supplement helped him heaps. So I'm getting some this weekend, and hopefully it will help.
Yay! I've just finished Week 2 I feel stuffed but great. My knees are a little sore though. Anyone got any ideas on how to overcome that?
It was a hard run this morning. I felt tired and my body felt heavy. After the first run I thought I wasn't going to be able to finish it, but I did and I'm so glad I did! I kept picturing myself coming on here and saying "YAY! I finished Week 2!!" and that got me through it.
Hey Laranna, Make sure you wear good cushioned shoes and stretch well. I used to get really sore knees and avoided running as I wouldnt then be able to bend my knees with my body weight. But this time I got proper shoes and am careful to warm up well and it hasn't been happening. HTH
krysalyss - thanks for the tip....what sort of stretching do you recommend for the knees? I stretch my quads and hammies already. My knees are killing me tonight so I don't know what's wrong with them. I can barely put weight on my right knee, my left isn't too bad.
Hi everyone I have now finished week 1 and am very happy with myself lol
its going to be over 40C most of the week here so I am going to have to go late at night but I dont want to stop so Ill see how I go
Your knees shouldn't hurt that much! Are your running shoes right for you? It may be worth getting a pair specially fitted so as to help with your knees.
My clicky knee has turned out to be due to the pre-existing arthritic change, and my Dr reckons that because my running shoes have been specially fitted, I can keep running, but preferably only once a week so as not to exacerbate it. So I'm going to try doing the C25K slowly on a once-a-week schedule now.
