Me - I ran 3km on Saturday and 3km Monday. I didn't want to go yesterday but DH made me (thanks darling ;) ). Feeling good. My goal this week is to run 3km every second day NO EXCUSES! I'll try to extend it to 4km when I am reliably doing 3km every second day. I like all your your rewards :think: I'll have to think about a reward for me.
Geez....3 k's! I think I'd die!!
We've gotten lazy & stopped our walking since starting the fat burnout. Walking was done in 20 minutes or so & was only walking. The 'fat' lates burn out goes non stop for 47 minutes with arms & jumping & everything, so we're thinking its better.
Then we do our nice easy (kind of) stretching fatlates (pilates, lol).
Trying for healthier foods, but I'm not too worried. We rarely have unhealthy foods here anyway. The last week was a bit fattening though, lol. Cherry ripe, flake, cheese cake (thanks mum!), KFC (mum again!) & choc mint bikkies.
Normally have NONE of that at all! Oh & potato bake. But I ate the left overs in the mornings so I burnt it off....well that was the plan!
Scales still refuse to change for me. Oh well. I'm feeling slightly different. Like my sides or something. I don't think I've done enough to notice yet though. Maybe its my brain just wishing, lol.
DH hasn't seen me for near 5 weeks, hopefully when he gets home he'll see the difference... Hopefully his flat mate WON'T ask if I'm pregnant again!! (Coulda slapped him!!!)
I did 5km yesterday in 31:40 which is my best time since pre-babies :leap:
I swapped my boots reward for my massage reward as I couldn't find boots anywhere! So I went and had a 1hr Thai massage this morning and it was wonderful!!

So I had my little one-on-one class yesterday ... IN T E N S E!!! No one to tap me out for a rest :lol: For the first time ever (I'm not really a sweater) I felt drops of sweat dripping down my neck and even had one drip from my nose!! My trainer and DH are very proud of me and I'm really fitter that I thought I was. I'm getting better in my stabelizers already. I'm not even as sore as I thought I would be. So next class is on Wednesday afternoon and then I have one on Friday morning with other ppl, because DH has to work.
I'm doing great with the diet also ... I am hungry today. My tummy is already growling and it's three hours till lunch :(
Ps - got a recipe for a hot spinach cheesecake *drool* (bacon, butter, cheese, cheese and cheese) EEEKKKK, surely that with a nice garden salad could not be THAT bad ... I'm really craving
Wow @ the runners! That's awesome! I'm with Skye- so can't run to save my life :( But am trying for 20 mins / day on the wii fit (with jogging - somehow it's different to running in real life, LOL!) and am trying to stick to healthy food. My downfall is snacks, so I'm trying to make sure they're healthy ones.
WOW, Nadine, that cheesecake sounds amazing. I must admit to having had bacon and eggs for breakfast yesterday :redface: but it's school holidays and we were out for breaky with family. I think having an extravagant meal is ok as long as you behave for the rest of the day :) That's my view anyway FWIW. Tonight I made a mango chicken curry which usually has 100ml of cream but I substituted light evaporated milk for cream and it was still yummy!
We have recently discovered the evaporated milk version of coconut cream. It is really good! Yay we can have laksa and creamy curries again without all of the fat.
Ohhh Mango Chicken Curry .. don't know that one. You should post it. Yeah I agree and I behave myself quite well. In fact I'm doing better than I thought I would, maybe self-restraint comes with age :spit:

I got a Wii and the Wii Fit/Active bundle yesterday and did my first session this morning. I was really sceptical about it all but after doing it, I really enjoy the format and the exercises. The running, I am not enjoying so much although I can feel everything jiggle so that must be a good thing. The inline skating was a shock for my thighs. I am doing the 30 day challenge and am totally motivated. I also like to get out for walks with bubs but it has been raining lots.
I'm snacking less but I find I eat when I am stressed or cranky and I have been both this last week which has not been a good start. I am drinking more water so that is a plus.

:lol:Try not to be too worried about not eating certain foods. My trainer keeps telling me that I should be having some protein with everything I eat... so if I have an apple for morning tea then I should have some yoghurt or cottage cheese too. Our body needs to use the energy from out carbs to turn the protein into usable energy, so we are using up more of our food just to get the energy from it. I hope that makes sense! :lol:
By that reasoning, Snacks, bacon and eggs is fine sometimes as it has lots of protein, you would just need to keep your fat down for the rest of the day. That cheesecake would be alright too Nadine (provided you can stop yourself eating the whole thing...something I am not very good at :p), just maybe use light cheese when you make it. If it has ricotta or cream chesse then the low fat ones aren't too bad for your waistline at all.
Do those of you who run take prams? I like running and try to go a couple of times a week to do 5km or occasionally 10km when I can leave the kids with DH, but I am having trouble motivating myself to go pushing the boys. I just seem to tense my shoulders too much and get a sore neck. Maybe I should start with 2 or 3km with the pram and work up again? Practice relaxing while I push.
Nadine, you will never again hurt as much as you did when you started with your trainer. I couldn't sit on the toilet properly ar walk up stairs without holding the railing after my first session. :doh: Now I only get sore enough to know I have done a great workout but not so much that I am in constant pain.:lol: It sounds like you are doing really well!!
Well I weight yesterday and I was 77kg, so I am dropping, but not very fast. I'm trying to be careful as I don't want to upset my milk supply. I'm making a concerted effort to stop snaking, eat better choices and drink lots of water. Yesterday was a bit hard cause I was a bit tired and snacked a bit, but I'll make up for it today. But DH has lost 3.5kg so far so very proud of him!

Ohhh I made that Cheese Cake and O M G it's awesome!!! I had to physicaly remove myself from the kitchen so that I could not have another slice. I only had two slices and LOADS of salad and a slice of home-baked seedbread. I used low-fat cottage cheese and light mayo, also extra lean bacon and fried in olive oil. It was worth it. Even DH liked it and asked that I make it for his birthday next year as a savoury tart. (I'll pm the recipe to anyone who wants it, not going to post it here and be an enabler ;) )
Berrme - I remember fondly my first Intermediate Stepclass back when I first started to gym ... I could not sit down on the loo for 5 days :lol:

Now I only get sore enough to know I have done a great workout but not so much that I am in constant pain.
I ate a marshmallow yesterday :rofl: ONE, just one. Marshmallows are fat free, right .. I can still have my ice-cream reward on Sunday. No one ever got fat from eating ONE marshmallow.
Cat - easy does it. I think you are very smart in not wanting to drop all the weight so fast. Good work :)
Melanie - It's not that I worry about eating different types of food. I'm 100% sure that I can snack away atm while exercising AND drop some weight, BUT I want to drop LOTS of weight, get toned and get my body away from snacking and craving rich, creamy, fatty food. And I agree .. you can eat anything you like as long as you keep your fat-intake in check. And there are ALWAYS an alternative to the most sinfull of snacks.
DH is having crumbed porkchops today .. I'm having smoked chicken salad -- YUM. He is also not going to class today, that neck of him is still not right. He's having phiso today and then I'm ordering him to take it easy. He is not impressed with that and are taking it really hard. He even had a 200ml Coke last night .. and chips :( I'm mad at that neck of his, it's taking his gutso away :(
I eat when I'm p'dd off!! Then I snack like crazy. I hope the week turns for you :) and GO for inline skating:

I had my first weigh in this evening - down to 148kg from 154kg, but I'm not going to celebrate until some sort of trend becomes apparent in the results.
My original measurements:-
Chest 136cm
Waist 132cm
Hips - 134cm
I'm seeing a personal trainer twice a week doing a mix of cardio and weights on each session....this evening was the intensive weight session, so I'm left feeling like a jellyfish...no feeling left in my limbs at all!
Diet wise - the trainer has given me daily targets for carbs, protein and fat - as a general rule all carbs are consumed before lunch, and I'm trying to do the six meals a day thing - though the logistics are proving to be difficult.
I'm finding the protein target hard to meet without blowing through the fat or carb limits, so I'm still experimenting with different snack foods to try to make the numbers stack up.
I've started getting up early and taking DD (14 months) out for a walk to watch the sunrise at the beach which is a good hours walk each morning to make sure that I'm getting some low intensity exercise every day before breakfast. It doesn't hurt that thePixie gets a lie in too...;)
I had a little accident with a tree earlier in the year that did some damage to my left knee, so any high impact exercise is a no-no. I will be having surgery to deal with the damage in November - so I'm trying to establish a routine that I can sustain whilst recovering from the surgery.

What is your protein target? If you use calorie king it will work out your protein for you. All vegetables have protein (which is why vegetarians are rarely protein deficient) but if you want something quite high in protein while low in fat/calories then try experimenting with tofu. It (use hard tofu for this recipe) is great marinaded in a soy based marinade (I use sweet chilli and kecap manis) and then grill it, add some leafy vegetables, salad items, herbs and wrap into a rice paper roll. I use a dipping sauce of lemon/lime juice/kecap manis/ sweet chilli sauce, but I think you can get some commercial dipping sauces.
But you can use tofu in lots of things to boost your protein. Using silken tofu you can also make a low fat/high protein shake in the blender. And as tofu has little flavour of its own you can make it whatever flavour you want.
Yum I want some rice paper rolls now! Sometimes I use the blue lotus marinaded tofu nuggets but they are a bit higher in fat than when you make your own marinade.
Bugger about your knee! A few of us have injuries. I have had so many in the last month but have finally recovered. I was lucky I didn't actually tear anything but it sounds like you have had a rotten time.
Was just thinking to also get into beans and pulses (e.g. lentils) as they are good sources of protein for the amount of calories in them. I often have baked beans on toast for brekky and it keeps me going but when you use the tinned ones you have to be careful of the amount of salt in them. (theres always something!)

Nadine, sounds like you have it all sorted. I have the sore back/shoulders/ abs happening today. It is very satisfying!
Your recipe sounds right up my alley... cheese is my greatest downfall. As well as chocolate. :lol: If you are sending it round I would love a copy. :D
I am just curious... is anyone here really tall or really short? I just assume everyone is about my height, which is 165cm. I also just picture everyone like their avatar. :lol:
Mixed results from me in my weigh in yesterday. My weight is down to 65.4kg, but my measurements were all the same except my bust which has finally gone down 1cm. I have decided that for the purposes of this challenge I am changing my hip measurement. My trainer takes it at my hip bones so it is always in the same place, but from how my pants fit I think the 1.1kg has come from lower down on my hips/bum (which is good!) so I will go to the 'where my wrists sit' measurement which is 98cm.
That was fairly rambly...in summary:
weight: 65.4kg, down 1.1kg
bust: 93cm, down 1cm
waist 72cm, no change
hips 98cm, down but don't know how much as it is a new measurement for me.
Thigh: 57cm, no change
I really need to tighten up on my food again. I was being really good with the limited chocolate and snacking, but have slacked off because I have gotten below my pre baby weight. Unfortunately that sits just between a size 10 and a 12 and nothing ever fits quite right. So instead of putting a couple of kg back on and being a 12 like usual, I am going to lose a couple more and be a proper size 10 (for the first time in my adult life). I just need some more motivation... why is it so hard when you are nearly at the end? :rolleyes:

Whilst I have not checked in again I haven't fallen off the wagon, I've lost 2.6kg in the last 2.5 weeks so I'm really happy with myself :dance:
