    Good Morning Ladies,

Raupe & ZF _ I'm so sorry you guys are ill!!! I'm sending you 'get well germs' so you can be back on track very soon! Feeling blergh is the pits!!!

SOPDET _ Wow woman, I'm so impressed by your stamina & endurance & motivation! I love how organised you are as well. The shoes, the monitors, the 12 week training schedule, it's setting yourself up for the most optimum weightloss targets & I'm so excited to see it all come off for you!!! With the toning shoes, are they like the Sketchers Tone-Ups or whatever? I had been thinking of getting myself a pair of these too! I'm totally loving my new Nike's for jogging & the cross-trainer, but I would really like some of those tone up runners too. I might look at them when I'm in Perth next. When yours arrive, can you please let me know what you think of them?

I am very disgusted with my eating over the weekend. I have no idea what came over me. Every item of food in the house was fair game if it wasn't nailed down! I gave everything a go & then we went to a buffet for dinner too I just don't know why I did that to myself!!! I did 7.5km on the cross-trainer on Saturday, then 10km on Sunday. This morning I have been for a jog & then I did 5km on the cross-trainer when I got home. So I'm hoping that I am able to redeem myself on the scales before Thursday. I just had a small bowl of cereal with a banana for breakfast & a lemon tea & I'm already planning a really healthy lunch & I'm making cottage pie for dinner. So I think I have a healthy eating day lined up.

Big waves to Onyx, AppleTree, Cheezel, Starbright, Pandora. Sorry if I have missed anybody - completely not intentional!

Hello everyone, we've got a public holiday here today so I've got the boys home for the day. It means I miss the gym today and I'm not happy about that. I've been feeling a bit slack since Friday. I haven't eaten very well over the weekend. I went to the gym yesterday but only for a brief workout because my parking was going to run out. I bought a pair of the nike freeruns and I was in a hurry with the boys and tried them on without socks so they were half a size too small. I took them back to the shop to exchange the and the girl totally wasted my time. She told me they didn't have the size up so I tried on other shoes but none of them felt right so I asked her to ring the other shops and ask if they have them and while she was doing that I found a size 8 on the shelf. I took it over to her and she took 15 minutes looking for its partner before asking her boss who found it in about 1 minute exactly where it was meant to be I walked out of there feeling bad for wasting her time trying on so many pairs of shoes until it occurred to me that if she wasn't so dopey that she missed the shoes in the first place I would have been in and out in minutes. I forgot my headphones too - oh my.... it is so much harder without any tunes.
I might try to find some time to do abs and chest at home this afternoon. It will probably be a bit of a struggle because I'm going through a bit of a SAHM crisis. Some days it just seems so depressing endlessly doing the same jobs over and over and DH just doesn't get it. If he tells me that I should be happy because women in the developing world would love to have my problems I might just throw a tea bag at him and if he asks if I think I'm better than all the other women who are SAHM and don't complain I might throw the teapot instead.
Usually I have something fun on the horizon to look forward to - a visit from my family or a holiday or something but at the moment the only thing on my horizon is cleaning up after people who can make a mess faster than I can clean.
Sorry for whinging but it just makes me feel so heavy and demotivated.

I have a pair of the fit-flops. They're like the work-out sneakers but flip-floppy instead and they work by having a flat sole with foam not a curved sole. I find that if I wear them I do feel it in my thighs but they also make my knees angry so I don't wear them often. They're a different shaped sole than the work-out sneakers so the sneakers might be easier on the knees. I'm waiting on your report too Sopdet before I fork out for a pair of the sneakers.

I read in a magazine that a chihuahua weighs about 5kg so I'm measuring my weightloss in angry little dogs. I need to lose at least one Chihuahua then I will revise my goals and decide if I need to lose a second one.

Onyx - I used to have fit flop thongs, threw out my last pair because they died. I got the toning sneakers new from ebay, so if they don't work it wasn't a huge amount of money (way less than a pair of fit flops). But will give a report when I get them and start doing normal things on weekends with them.

Jayne - thanks, I have a few goals this year, getting ready for ski season is one. I have already dropped a size, I needed to go buy new casual pants on Saturday because mine were falling off. I'm feeling better about my body, I know there is a long way to go yet.

Will be interesting to see how Wednesday's weigh in goes, this week is also measurement week.

SOPDET _ It's a really good feeling to have to go buy new pants because the current pair are falling off. It's such a rewarding indication of what has been achieved. Have so much fun shopping for new ones!!! Good job. I love how you take your measurements as well, something I wish I had of done from the beginning.

ONYX _ My MIL has the fitflops and she claims to LURVE them, but the funny thing is I have NEVER seen her wear them!!! lol. That's why I wondered how good they were. I might try some on next time I'm home in Aus - I dont' usually like the feel of thongs on my feet but I'll have to try them on & decide. I could have written your post almost exactly to the word 12 months ago. I completely hear you loud & clear about the repetative nature of being a SAHM. I felt like I was continually, cleaning, mopping, washing, folding, cooking, etc... all to clean messes I didn't make, clothes I wasn't wearing, beds I wasn't sleeping and all the rest of it. I felt like a robot who was just programmed to be the woman who never got to feel any emotions. It was horrible. Then I would get the same comments from Alan that you are getting from yours. Drove me nuts. Although, I did have my job that I went to 2 days per week & I think that's why I loved it so much. Because it broke the cycle. I got to dress up, I got to talk in my 'professional voice', I got to talk with adults during the day & at the end of the fortnight, they also gave me money!!! I would have done it for free. bahahaha. Chin up love - there's going to be some excitement right around the corner.

Guess what girls??? I got THE DRESS. I went & tried it on & bought it today. I have to admit, I didn't gush over it like I thought I would. I think because I need a strapless bra to wear underneath it, so my bra straps made it look stupid when trying it on, plus the only heels I have here are my boots, and I wanted to wear them, because trying a dress on flat footed, it is bound to look dumpy? You know? so I wore a winter dress with leggings & boots to try it on, so it looked even more dumb with an off the shoulder pink dress, blue bra strap showing & then leggings & boots underneath. lol. BUT! I can see the potential of the dress. I was, very, very, very disappointed that i had to get the dress in a size XL! I mean seriously!!!!!!!!!! That crushed ALL my inner-excited feelings of trying on such a pretty dress after a staggering 22kg weight loss!!! I know it's because it's a chinese size, the chinese girls are soooooooooo tiny, but still. Did very little for my confidence. I have just packed away a heap of size 12 clothes because they are fallign off me & here I am in a size XL dress. So now I just need to find some shoes, a cute little bag or clutch & my strapless bra & wa-la, I'm done!

Weighed myself today. I wish I hadn't. I've lost 1 kg in one month. I'd hoped for more. On the positive side at least I didn't put a kilo on. I feel fitter and stronger and I'm sure I look fitter. I wish the scales agreed with me.

Sopdet, less than 100 days now until the ski season kicks off Usually my fitness routine for skiing is skiing so it will be interesting to see how much difference starting the season a bit fitter makes.

In slightly related news I've decided to grow some hair on my balls and made a Dr's appointment about my bum. My brother has rectal cancer and I am under strict orders from his oncologist to get my 'roids looked at and get a colonoscopy . I'm sure you can all understand why that's an appointment I've been putting off making...

Well done on the weight loss Onyx!!! You should be proud of yourself. You're sounding like you have a built some muscles which is a really great thing & the reason why you had hoped for me. BOL with the Dr's appointment. My grandmother died of bowel cancer - so it's something we have to be diligent about too. Still not nice though. xx

    Hey ladies,

    hope everyone is well...

im feeling a bit better about myself this week even though I have gained a kilo... I think thats from all the water i just drank before hopping on the scales lol OOPS. But I have lost cm's around my belly.

Going to get myself a tape measure thing instead of the scales lol i dont like scales... they lie! (prob dont but i dont like them anyways!)

    Anyways,
I have replaced not having breakfast with having a smoothie for breakfast or as a snack. They are ice blocks with fruit concentrate and pulp in them and you mix them with low fat milk. Convienient and JUST has enough sugar in to get me by for a few hours lol So either that and an OJ for breakfast or ALL BRAN Apple Crunch with low fat milk.

Lunches - ive been good - ive had caesar salads (one with chicken in it) and also rolls with meat etc

Dinners - this is where my problem lies. I have had meats and salads and egg etc and fish... But I always up the fat content right before bed.

Water intake has been alright... could be better.

Lets see how i feel in another week!

    Peace out! xoxox

Onyx & Sopdet - where do you go skiing?

Melzi - well done on losing some cm's this week & also making some really healthy food choice decisions!!! Sounds like you are really getting yourself on track. The water would have taken a big toll on the scales before you weighed!!! Maybe next time can you weigh first thing in the morning (after a wee of course! ). I think you & the scales will be much better friends this way. lol. Also, I have a real bee in my bonnet about eating after dinner. The way I figure it (& I know we all have our own opinions), is that food that is sitting in your belly is ADDITIONAL food to dinner & not long after you eat it, it's just sitting in your stomach doing sweet nothing. You have no chance of burning it off whilst you are sleeping & by the time you wake it's probably began being absorbed. I know it's probably not 100% correct, but I figure to myself, I'm not working my backside off to get this weight off, for extra food to get a quick ride to my thighs! pmsl. I 'try' not to eat anything after dinner. Sure there are times when you are out, have friends over, etc... But I really try to stick to it. I don't drink tea or coffee, juice or anything other than water after dinner either. Once you get used to it, it's really easy to stick to.

Mmmmm, I have a brocolli cheese in the oven cooking to go with dinner. Yummmmmmmyyyyyyyyyy!

    Thanks Jayne!

Yeah not so much after dinner eating... Mostly eating a lot of fat content at dinner is my prob

I'm trying the best I can at the moment I've had Tim tams I'n the fridge but haven't touched them for a week.

Oh Jayne, that sucks about Chinese sizing!! What a let down!! I know what you mean though, one of my aunts bought herself a pair of xxl swimmers over there without trying them on, the only one of her sisters that ended up fitting in to them was the aunt who is an Australian 6-8 and has no chest whatsoever! Don't lose heart, you are going to look amazing when you have the whole outfit put together

Melzie- what kinds of things are you having for dinner? What is upping the fat content? Sounds to me like you are already doing a fabulous job, you should be really proud of all of those positive things you posted about!

Onyx and sopdet- I am so jealous! I haven't been skiing since before dd was born! I wish we lived close enough to consider getting a season pass!

Onyx- it sucks those first 6-8 weeks! My theory is that muscle weighs more than fat so you have probably lost stacks of fat and put on some muscle, which is why you aren't seeing a nicer number. Also, I tell myself that the quicker it falls off, the quicker you will see it back again, also that if I lose weight too quickly I will end up with saggy skin! Lol. It makes me feel better

Afm, I am really struggling at the moment, I don't feel like I have a good routine at the moment and I feel like I am not making any progress. I have yet to find a good spot for my scales which is flat, so each weigh in is all over the place! Plus, the whole 4 days with df each week is a real struggle eating wise, I am stressed at how I am going to manage it. I think I just have to try and do my own thing as much as I can, and don't be tempted by him! I need to just get up and go to the gym like I normally would and not wait around for him to make his mind up about what we are going to do. Hmmm, so glad I wrote that out, now it can be my plan and hopefully I will be back on track soon!

Just stuff in general that us hard to digest.

I went for a walk before dinner. Hubby tagged along too.

MELZI _ Pasta, carbs, red meats, etc... is all ok to have for dinner, but really watch your portion size. Maybe try to arrange your dinner plate so that you can physically see more vegies than meat or pasta. Also, I find that serving my pasta in a kids bowl or using a kids plate really helps. I have a thing that I have to fill the plate?? Awesome job that you went for a walk after dinner - that would have really helped if you ate a big dinner. I reckon you're doing really great!

APPLETREE _ Finding a good mojo - one that works for you, is really hard. It's a real balancing act. It's even tougher when the DH's are around. They really are there to sabotage us. Keep telling yourself that you're doing this for YOU, not for anybody else. Maybe you need to talk to DH & tell him how you really need his support right now? You're going to do it anyway, but having his support will make it even easier? Also, put your scales in one spot & just use that to weigh. Even if it's in your kitchen! Yeah, I was totally bummed about the size of the dress. Did very little for my ego let me tell you. I haven't even showed it to Alan. But I definitely can see the end result - so I'm just going to cut the tag off. lol

I had MTV on whilst I was working out today. I'm afraid to say I have a massive girl crush............... on Avril Lavigne. bahahahaha

    Have a great day peeps!

Jayne, woohoo for your loss. Well done!!
It's a great idea cutting the tag off the dress too. Avril really isn't my type - too weeny. Pink's more my kind of girl.
I live in Canberra so we ski the NSW resorts. The boys did lessons with Perisher last year (gives me every Sunday off ) and the older one loves his teacher so we'll probably be back there again this year even though Thredbo has more vertical.

Melzi, I think that pasta is ok if you have it in smaller portions. The wholemeal pasta is probably better than the white pasta but I've never found a wholemeal spagetti that rocked my boat. The spirals are ok. I think that really you can eat anything that you like so long as you control your serving size and make the really fattening stuff sometimes foods not daily or weekly foods.
My big downfall is dark chocolate - I have a serious cocoa addiction. If I don't eat a row of it every night I get huge cravings.

Appletree, I hope you can find a routine that works for you soon. DH's can really sabotage you without realising it.

I did an hour of cardio today. 20 minutes each on the rower, cross trainer and treadmill. I think I burnt a bit over 500 calories so lets hope that translates into some fat loss.

    I'm back! Hi everyone!

Cereal for breakfast, salad for lunch and homemade pumpkin soup for dinner (with homegrown pumpkins I might add, from my own teensy tiny garden!). In a little while, going to hit the footpath, pushing the pram and walking the dogs. We rode our bikes twice in Adelaide, once from West Beach to Glenelg and then back, and then we went the other way to Henley Beach and back. Not sure how far it was, but it was a beautiful ride along the foreshore. But while away, we ate....a lot!

I've decided I'm not going to talk to the scales anymore. I don't want to know. All I care about right now is to get moving again. Get into a nice walking and bike riding routine and just feel good and bugger the scales. It was getting me down when so little was happening, so I'm just going to get out there and enjoy the fresh air.

Onyx & Sopdet - Where do you go skiing? I've only skiied twice, but loved it. The second time I did, I got a lesson and he was an Austrian instructor with an awesome accent, who spent his time shouting directions at us, while he skiied away from us. Therefore we couldn't hear anything he said First time I skiied was Mt Buller, second time was Mt Hotham.

Hi to everyone else. I've been reading all your posts and you're all doing really well. Hope you're okay appletree

ETA - Walk with poochies done! And I logged the rides we did in Adelaide - one was 6.74kms and one was 4.45kms. Not too bad.

1kg loss. Did my measurements too: 35cm loss all over, including 10cm on my hips & waist, 5cm off bewbies and thighs.

Now I've got my heart rate monitor, I make sure I burn at least 500cals each session. I even ran for a whole 5 mins without stopping today!!!!!!!

This year I'll be doing the Victorian resorts because they're not a long drive from here, might even fit a weekend or two up in the NSW resorts. I haven't done it for about 10 years, will be interesting, last time was in Andorra.
