Be afraid. Be very afraid.
And now on the serious side, how am I going to survive easter??? I love hot cross buns. I make them every year (mocha-chocolate chip ones *droooool*). DP is a hot cross buns fanatic! He already bought 2 packs :wall:. Any tips on how to resist the cravings?
Well i went for the tiniest of walks with HotI this morning  but i did however do some mowing ON A HILL which worked up a nice little sweat, might give the bike a go tonight before bed.. having spaghetti for tea, packed with zucchini, carrots & celery :p
ONYX _ Did you get all OCD with standing on the scales too? lol. My name is Jayne & I'm a stand-on-scales-aholic. It got THAT bad with me. Now, I have them packed in the cupboard & I only let them see the light of day on Thursdays. It has worked so well for me. Although I still stare at the cupboard door all wistfully sometimes just wanting a lil sneak peek. Oh my goodness, my legs feel like this after a pump class too!! Did you have to hold onto the rail but still act all cool? I used to do that but in reality I probably looked like I was drunk & stumbling. bahahah
ZF _ I do this with spaghetti too! I add mushrooms, grated carrot, zucchini but haven't done celery ** hmmm, thinking for next time ** great idea!!! I only let myself have one scoop of pasta/spaghetti & then top with the meat/sauce & just a teeny sprinkling of cheese. I try not to eat too much pasta & I don't eat it if I have eaten bread that same day. KWIM? Last night I made a carbonara pasta but I put mushrooms, chicken, bacon, red capsicum & grated zucchini in it too. Was sooooooooo delicious but my stomach is so bloated from eating it that I didn't eat the lil leftover bowl I put aside for my lunch today. I'm assuming it's the dinner from last night, but my gut is just so weirdly bloated that I"m feeling blergh with it. Oh listen to me on the food train!!! Sorry!
RAUPE _ Dang you girl!!! I had forgotten about hot-cross buns! lol. Maybe you can make a pact with yourself that you are allowed one hot-cross bun every weigh day but ONLY if you have lost weight that week? Gee, all I'm thinking about is them now. Thankfully there are NO such things in China.
So it's my weigh day tomorrow & I'm getting all anxious about it. I am going to be seriously gutted if it's a poor loss, especially given that last week was a .3kg flop. I have worked tirelessly on the x-trainer & made excellent food choices & really monitored my portions with things like the pasta last night. I have checked all the right boxes which will make it hurt more if I don't get a good loss.
One of my expat friends is training for a marathon. Her 40th birthday gift to herself is to be able to cross the finish line & I saw her out yesterday whilst I was picking the girls up & she was almost finished a 30km run. I look like she did after only 6km on the x-trainer!!! Man, didn't I feel like a frump! lol
What's for dinner girls? I have some beautiful fish just waiting for me to cook with some salad on the side with a sprinkling of feta cheese. Yummo! What's cooking at your place?
Love Jayne x
Hi guys! Well I am so proud of myself. I went really hard on the bike for 30 mins today at the gym and then I ended up having soccer training which goes for 90 mins. I realised I am so the granny in the team. The next oldest (I am 30) is 23! Wow I was sweating but I really pushed myself. I think the coach was unimpressed though as I told him that under no circumstances will I head the ball. I figure I play for fitness and fun and want to keep my brain cells as intact as possible (especially after having severe baby brain!).
Jayne - good luck for weigh in. Just remember that weight is only a small part of it and fluctuations can be from fluid or muscle. Fingers crossed for a great loss though!
ZF - Sending a bit of a push your way! I know the feeling. I keep having to kick start myself as I can't seem to keep my motivation.
Raupe - I love hot cross buns too!
Onyx - Nice work on the weights! I feel so self conscious doing weights so I tend to stick to the cardio stuff but people do tell me it is great for weight loss.
Apple tree - Good on you for being brave and posting your stats. 1000 calories burnt a day is pretty hard core - is that on top of a maintenance diet?
Pac - Hope you get a good nights sleep.
Hot1 - Have you done Zumba before? One of the soccer girls is qualified as a teacher and is going to start giving classes. Not sure I can afford another night away from home without a divorce but I am considering it (the exercise, not the divorce!)
Anyway tomorrow I am off the gym again. Going to do 40 mins of cycling and then 20 mins on the treadmill - probably just at a walk - I have a phobia of falling off those things!!! Got great ear phones so now I can move along to my own music. Woo hoo! Catch you all tomorrow!
Thanks Krys, DD was in our bed last night but she was pretty settled...but DH snored his head off. Sigh. Well done on the training!
Just back from a walk with DD. We went 2ks, to the park and back. I had to carry her home. She weighs about 12kg (well last time we checked), so carried her for about 1km. Gotta count for something!!!!
PKMG _ You got a pump class as well as a walk!!! Yay you!! & yes, I agree, that does count for something. I find taking LO's to the park a workout in itself, lifting them up on swings, taking them down again, putting them up on slides, catching them at the bottom, helping them climb, etc... I forgot to say, it must be something in the time of year or something with kids & sleep. Claudia hasn't had a proper nights sleep in almost 2 weeks now - me included. I just can't nod off, or when I do, DH wakes me snoring & Claudia complains of hearing Daddy snore too. What I would do just for an uninterrupted night! I feel like I have a baby in the house!!!
Sorry for lack of personals, I just realised I am running late for Chinese Class & I have to stop on the way to buy mince. Ah, the joy of living in the Winter, I can buy mince now & outside is COLDER than the fridge - so it doesn't matter that it's not refrigerated. bahahah
Oh & I decided to use my weigh day for tomorrow instead of today. It's Claudia's birthday & so I'm hoping that will bring nice numbers on the scales! 4 years old!!! Where did that time go???
Aww! Happy birthday to Claudia! My little miss turns 4 in the next couple of weeks too :) it's sooo hard to believe, hey?
I am so glad to see everyone doing so well! I am just about hitting my goals, but the food has been mainly junk as we are moving and it's just easier... Excuses, excuses, I know! I won't have time for the gym for a while which will be wierd, but I now have a 1.3k walk to the station when I start back at work on Monday so still getting a bit of a workout!
HI Ladies,
I hope you're all having a great Friday. I sure am! I have lost .5kg this week which just nudges me over the magical 20kg lost mark! Yay me!!!
I went for a run this morning, but I am missing Zumba. Claudia had us up at 5:15am for her birthday & I am just exhausted as I left her wrapping to the last minute so I was up late last night doing that. Also, Jess lost her first tooth at school, so I was busy playing tooth & birthday fairies!
I have to go pick up her cupcakes for school & her family cake for after dinner just after lunch, so I'm about to go have a little nana nap & then I'm up & at 'em again!
So, so, so happy I have broken the 20kg mark!!! WOOOT!
That is so bloody awesome Jayne!!!!!! Woo hoo!!!!!!!
FANTASTIC Jayne!!!!!! Well done! :hooray: :leap: :hooray:
Happy birthday to Claudia!
Hi guys! I went for a jog today and was pretty happy - I did the same track - 3kms in 21.39 so 2 mins off my previous time. Woo hoo! I do find jogging a bit boring but I kept thinking of how painful soccer training will be with all of the young kids in the team if I don't push myself now. LOL.
Anyway work day for me so I should be ok with food - not as much to access here. Hope you guys are all going great.
 :wall:
Very quickly, i just feel like having a cry sorry ladies! Moving sucks sooo badly! I feel like i am doing this single handed on top of everything else. Every single part of me aches and aches!
I keep telling myself to think of all the calories i am burning, but then i am reminded of the pizza twice, the mcdonalds for breakfast for the last 2 mornings, the giant bag of chicken chips we ate, the block of milky way i have made my way through in the last week getting ready for this and who knows what else that i have blocked out!
 hope you are all having a better weekend than me! On the plus side, i guess we did have a pretty nice looking couple of brazillian men helping us move, but i hardly got a chance to check them out properly i was too busy busting my guts running around!
Apple
I am in a similar situation to you. The exercise is fine but I hate controlling what I eat. I read a really interesting newspaper article the other day and it hit home to me more how I need to do both exercise and food control to lose my jiggling bits, and then maintain that weight. I am such an emotional eater so I do find it really really hard as well. Once you have moved you can get back into the routine again. I know whenever I am on the road or doing something major I just can't find time to plan my eating so well and end up eating badly. But it isn't the end of the world especially if you keep up the exercise. I hope the move all goes smoothly and you get some time to relax soon.
Oh massive hugs AppleTree. Try to remember that this phase is only temporary. Eat what you can, when you can, at the moment you can't go making super healthy stuff. But try & at least snack on some healthy stuff. Maybe grab some bananas, apples, bottles of water, etc... for whilst you are shifting & keep on telling yourself that Maccas for breakfast & pizza for dinner is only temporary. As soon as you are sorted, you can go draw yourself up a food/meal plan & stick to that. For the moment, you are so stressed, don't add to that stress of moving by thinking continually about the food side. Only for now though! Once you are in that house, we're on your back girl!
You're doing an amazing job - shifting is almost as stressful as a wedding IMO, just focus on the end result & the skinnier-you will soon be on the way!!!
xx
Well everyone has been so busy on here so will I won't even try to do any persies. It has been just so crazy over the last 4 weeks with my DH's grandma passing away and work that I haven't been able to get on here. Well I have been going well since starting my weightloss journey 5 weeks ago loosing 3kg's so far which I am happy about. I still though need more motivation to do more exercise, I haven't been doing that much which is prob why I haven't lost much. I have an appointment next sat with a dietition (I get 5 free appointments with her) so hoping that will help me out. I do just prob need a big kick up the bum :wall: Well hoping to be back on here more often to swap advice with you gals again
Gee, I just realised something, this is going to have to be renamed to the 'Autumn Challenge' pretty soon!!! It's very, very, very close to ticking over to Autumn - which means SPRING for me!!!! WOOOT!!!
I have packed away a truckload of food over the weekend. Friday being Claudia's birthday trickled over to still bingeing on Saturday (left over cake) & then this morning we went out for breaky & I wolfed down another massive plate again. I got home & felt utterly disgusted with myself. So I just jumped on my cross-trainer & did 7km & now I feel on top of the world. I still feel sick about what I ate, but I am already on my way to redeeming myself. Only healthy food from now on. I had my fun. I have 4kg to go, why blow it all out the water now? The fun is over, hardwork is back on the agenda. That is all!
