Best low/lower fat cheese?

That actually has some taste? I'm looking for a good block cheese that's lower in fat but still tastes like cheese - surely it is out there somewhere??

I bought one that was fine but I can't remember the brand! grrr.
I think it was bega mild but I dont know for sure, it could have been devondale. they are the only brands of block cheese I buy.

That's just the one I was about to recommend. We usually get Coon, but last week I tried the Coles one and DH and I agreed it tasted better (stronger, with that flakier texture of a mature cheddar). I haven't compared fat content though.

I usually shop at woolies as there is one just down the road - but will have to duck into a coles soon and try it - thanks girls!! It never hurts to ask rather than spend $9 on yucky cheese!

I agree MrsP. Cheese seems to be getting more and more expensive around my area. Plus my silly local coles seeming to be stopping stocking savings brand products and you now can't get savings brand light cheese, hence eating the you'll love coles. Mmmm cheese...

The one I usually get is Cracker barrel 25% reduced fat cheese, it has a strong flavour and is a bit crumbly. It is in a blue package and comes in two size here up to 500g. I haven't compared it to other lower fat cheese though, I had it at my MIL and really liked it.
