I have a Miele front end and a Miele condenser dryer. I love them both. The washing machine washes so well, comes out clean every time. I occasionally do a really hot wash on my white towels and that is all that's required to keep the machine clean. I like to add some vinegar to the rinse too sometimes and that gives it a bit of a descale.

The dryer is amazing. Like pp mentioned they all suck energy. I like the condenser though because you can stack it and the water can just be poured out after the cycle. No need to have a fan going in the laundry or a window open.

I also find the Miele great for not ruining my clothes. They have a honeycomb core so that nothing snags or gets ruined. I can chuck in my pantyhose and not worry about them at all.

I just went shopping for a new front loader yesterday. We have an LG that is 7-8 years old and I think the drum/spin cycle is about to go - it has started to make a horrendous noise although it is still doing the job but I want to be prepared because I can't go more than 3 days without a washer! I only went to 1 shop as I am pressed for time to spend on this but I think we will get a Siemen's (via E&S trading). They key thing for me is that it has a 5 year warranty and no other brand seems to have this. Also, they are (apparently), the number 1 seller of washers in Europe. I don't want to spend the Bosche/Miele prices, so this seems to be the happy medium...but am interested in opinions on Siemens.

Our dryer is horrible - it takes ages to dry and our bills are huge - probably should replace this as well but I will wait for after summer as I don't use it much in summer.
