Has anyone used carpet protection from a carpet cleaning company?
We are about to move into a rented house which is fully carpeted after having house with floorboards. With a two year old and another baby on the way I am expecting a certain amount of accidents - (even if it is only a baby throwing up bm). I was thinking that having the carpets treated could making keeping the carpets clean a bit easier.
I have never had this done. Although because we are renting with a dog that occassionally comes inside and we do gardening and walk in crap from outside. So we just regually have our loungeroom cleaned every 4-6 months it costs us $50 and then once a year we have the whole house done for $70. I just had my loungeroom done this morning and will have him come in May right before bubs comes. I just use a local guy out of the paper and he is awesome and wayyyyy cheaper. Our house is open plan so our loungeroom is massive and is sort of entry area/loungeroom/ entertainment area.
We had it done once but it ddin't really work. I think becuase our carpet was old and crappy though. Ibought some spot cleaner from a carpet cleaning company which works really well. I think it was from Drytron from memory.
thanks for the feedback ladies, you have made me feel much better now about the fact that the guy I booked to come and give me a quote on having my place done did not show up today.
Argh, it is terrible having to rely on waiting around for people to come by your place who give you a 4 hour window - especially at this time of year when there is soooo much more to do! I was a bit frustrated with him this morning for not showing up but now have decided to go with your ideas of spot cleaning and regular cleans, I just need to find a reputable company to do that...
