plastic smells like B.O!!!

i just bought a baby rocker off ebay and it smells funny, i thought it was just the cover so i took it off to wash , sprayed and wiped the plastic with normal kitchen spray and put the rocker in my bedroom, but now the whole room smells funny, its like old body odour...and its not me

A) how is it possible the plastic can smell like BO? ... and...
B) how do i get rid of the smell!??

I have no idea how it could end up smelling like that... But do you think it would be ok to fully submerge the plastic frame in water? If so you might want to try soaking it in a solution of bleach then putting it in the sun to dry.... For as long as possible.

Is it possible that there is mould growing on/in it? Could water be trapped inside the tubing?

i wouldnt have thought so but il have a look. think i might wash it in teatree oil or something....vinegar...but then it will smell like vinegar...whats worse??

You could try rubbing it over with eucalyptus oil if it cant be submerged. Tea tree oil sometimes reacts with plastics... partially dissolving the surface making it look dull... eucalpytus oil is a little bit more gentle but just as harsh on bacteria if that is the cause.

opps, already tried the tea tree...made no difference to the smell though. i think its just the way the plastic smells, it has a little play table thingy that comes off and i have literally scrubbed it with all sorts and as soon as it dries it smells the same! guess il just have to get used to it! thanks though.

The plastic might end up absorbing a more pleasant smell over time though... i'd persist with the tea tree oil and it might eventually 'stick'. Goodluck!

Is it possible to pull it apart and soak it in vinegar and bicarb??
