ummm, DH earns the money and I spend the money

DH is away often so lots of the traditional 'male' jobs fall on my shoulders anyway. I don't mow lawns so he has to do that or I pay a gardener.

Same here Onyx, I do everything when he's away - although I don't like mowing (mowed to many lawns in stinking tropical heat when I was younger, put me off for life) and I don't like putting the bin out (although I often put the rubbish from inside into the outside bin & wash bins etc). I don't like vaccuuming and DH doesn't like dusting/tidying/organising, I clean the toilet handbasin & mirror and DH does the shower and bath. He irons. I don't usually do standing on ladders or chairs so those things go to DH when he's here or they just don't get done. Last year when I was unwell DH pretty much did everything but I figure we're even stevens after I ran his life for him for 5 years while he worked away constantly.

I refuse to do the "man" jobs, simply because DP just doesnt do housework (I have fought this for years, and he is better than he used to be, but washing/cooking/dishes/floors etc is all me unfortunately)
So I make a big point of getting him to take the garbage out everyday, doing the outside tidying up, mowing/weeds etc, and it is also his job to keep his office desk clear as is mostly his stuff. Also getting him to do the heavy lifting ie. lifting the couch so I can vacuume under etc

Just a curious thing mainly, just wondering if in your house do have you jobs that are just for certain sexes?
As bad as it sounds we do really, DH mows lawns and tends to gardens, mainly because I refuse to learn as then I will have to do it
I do basically everything else. He cleans kitchen down every week and this his thing....
