Our house is completely floorboards, apart from the office which is carpet. I vacuum first, I do have an inside broom but there is no way I'm sweeping the whole house! Takes enough effort just to vaccuum and mop..but yeah I vac first, otherwise all the stuff on the floor is going to get all over the mop and in the water so I would think the floors would be just as dirty as when I started?!?

I don't own an inside broom We have the vac and dust buster for small spills. Not very eco of me.

I vacuum it gets the floor heaps cleaner and it's quicker!

and then mop with a vileda for timber floors with pledge for timber floors.

I vaccuum, then mop, then steam clean. The broom just pushes the dirt around, I dont find it much use at all.. and I really dont like bending down to scrape all the dirt up. Yuck. We have a special head for our ducted vaccuuming system for floor boards, it makes it a breeze
