I used to be a Tupperware consultant...you'd be amazed at how many people ask the same question, and usually it's their husband/partner that's left their lunch/drink in the car The other gals are right - baking soda is great, or get some wet newspaper or paper towel, use it to wipe out the container and then seal the paper/towel in the container and put it in the freezer overnight. If it's really bad it might need more than one go, but it should work!

the newspaper worked for me when I had a yucky 'plasticky' smell in the rice container!

After some of my tupperware (and mum's in a separate incident) went through a house fire, we both soaked them in napisan for a couple of hours and then washed as normal and it was back to being nice (and also got rid of the oily black film of house fire plasticy yuck on them) so we didn't have to replace it all
